This kind of thing is so helpful thank you Alexa!
You're right that there are a lot of false friends between French and English. One that comes to my mind quickly is 'placard' for 'wardrobe'. Protests would be extremely difficult if we all carried french 'placards' :) Thank you for this video Alexa.
You teach us very well. You are a great teacher
Now i see why its complicated to french people. Great video, thanks a lot!
Tu es incroyable! Merci! J'aime apprendre de vous!
Gracias Alexa...Por enseñarnos Francés...
J'aime bien vos cours en ligne et j'en profite énormément.
Thanks a lot Alexa!
*Magasin* could be one of them.
It reminds me of the word "magazine" but actually means "store"
That's what magazine meant in English too, but particularly pertaining to ammunition.
And the french language influence on Russian made it the word for store in russian too
Muito obrigado, Alexa! Connaître des faux amis est très important pour nôtre apprentissage!
Thank you Miss Alexa.✌🏾❤️
Beutyful explainations i love it 🌹
Preservatif= Condom
French has a faux amis as well, e.g. "Le foot" is short for " football" but they might as well have called it "Le pied".
Merci beaucoup alexa ......

s/b commence instead of commerce?
Hi Alexa,
vous avez oublié de mentionner quelques autres faux amis: Priest = CURE and Comment = How. (Please tell me if the sentence I have written is correct or wrong?)
Can you please explain the difference between your paid lessons on your website and these on UA-cam videos? This is my third time attempting to learn and advance my French. Your videos have filled a lot of gaps and made learning interesting. This is the 5th language for me, in my experience at a certain stage if not from the beginning, I need to get rid of the translation and just listen and speak all in that new language. Do your classes offer that?
bonjour, the difference between my course and these lessons is that every lesson are grouped and categorised by level from beginners to advanced. They all come with support guides. I also post new exclusive videos all the time and you get to learn Live with me every week and I have a podcast! :)
"Just pause the video, DO something here" ;;___;; thanks for shaming me into participating Alexa! (just to be clear i mean this in a joking positive way)
le menu etait
excellent
execrable?
tres utile pour moi! il a ya beacoup plus faux ami que je trovare ;)
merci alexa
You are the best
is "faire de la lecture" more like 'to do the reading"? What's the difference between "lecture" and "lire"?
"Allure" peut aussi signifier "démarche" comme dans "Il a une drôle d'allure".
Speaking of assister and attend how about attender not meaning attend but rather to wait like in Spanish too
great
In Bangali we say "d'accord" as "to look at" & "mal" is like "goods" but not the opposite of "bien"..
Hello.....You have given a word "Assister" , which means to attend, likewise we have another word "Attendre", which seems like "to attend" but the actual meaning is "to wait"
j ai trouve quelque chose dans mon livre des mots
minerai vs plaquette mineralogique
au lieu, on peut dire plaque d'immatriculation
taxi vs taxidermiste (mais un mot dont on n'a pas besoin chaque jour)
panne vs panneau
muer =developper deu. mausern mais maus deu.=souris
another faux amis between french and hindi the word : Ravi.
in Hindi it means , the Sun but i guess in French it means happy to meet you..
For the word 'agenda' - do you mean 'calendar'?
No it means diary.
But don't you mark dates in your calendar? I mean, notebook is something of a broader meaning.
I would have said 'on your calendar'
I wouldn't go with calendar as the translation
merci beacoup :-)
I must said that" you are the best.
chevre, capricorne, brebis, belier, monnaie=span.moneda=russ.valuta
equipage=crew equpaje (espanol)=bagage
I immediately understand what "bras" means, because in Tagalog, it's called "braso" (I know how to speak Tagalog🇵🇭)
why is in the text written ''d'en entree'' instead of ''d'entree'', why should we add 'en'? help, please. :-)
5:14 assistir portugais=ecouter/regarder francais
bravoooo
bonjour madame
maintanent - now

Oh Lord, why do the French people write what they don’t read or speak. Are there words in French at all which are read or pronounced as written!?
Yes, a lot, even if french is overloaded with too many superfluous letters (mutes, doubled) and strange digrams or trigrams.
For exemple the word "fil" is pronounced /fil/, but it's an exception :p
great
