Everyone’s talking about how great Alexander performance is, but let’s also give it to the stunt guys who performed smth like Norwegian folk dance mixed with some nice acrobatics as a gymnast athlete I freaking love it
Its norwegian folkdance, goes back for centuries. They åerform in norwegian folksuits, which is different due to where your family lived ... The jump with hat used to be an old contest 💕💕
@muhammad hammad sure, this is something like tornado kick or 540 kick which is quite common for male folk dances in Norway It was a contest between dancers: kicking that hat off the stand
Incredible, it's been 13 years since Rybak won and Fairytale still holds up as one of the best Eurovision songs of all time. He doesn't even look like he's aged a day since 2009 either!
Thats what i was thinking. I just randomly stumbled on this video. Im an American, and i was saying his vocals alone are no where near the best (though not bad at all as well), but his entire performance is very well done. He has a nice level of charisma and a wonderful star quality. He performs the violin magnificently as well. I can definitely see the appeal in him. Is he quite famous?
@@KonataIzumi43 I believe he was actually sick when he performed! Also he’s not a native English speaker so it’s a little more difficult 🥰 He was quite popular in Europe after he won Eurovision 10 or so years ago
@@emilycobb9875 yeah, its a singer thing to have to sing while a little under the weather, but its an amazing thing to see when someone can actually pull it off. also with english not being his first language is p good for his pronunciation (i.e, vowels, consonants, longevity, etc) but its not uncommon to see "foreign" singers sing well in english
The most impressive is that Alexander also composed, and wrote the lyrics of the song. Then he sings, and plays the violin. Not many other ESC winners did the same.
Surprised that he wrote the lyrics-- I assumed he was singing phonetically and didn't actually speak English. The song is good, but I'd like to hear it by someone else. He's not the best singer.
He's in love with a fairytale meaning he's in love with the idea of his relationship with her. They had a terrible relationship, clearly from the song, but he's romanticizing it because he misses her. The "fairytale" aspect is a version of their relationship that only consists of the happy parts, a sugar-coded, rose-tinted version of them, and he's in love with the idea of it.
@@aayushgokhale1902 I guess it means that he doesn't care that he lost his mind to this illusion, because the curse is already their relationship being in a horrible state.
Eurovision olmayınca her Türk genci kendini bu videolarda buluyor. Düzenli olarak bütün Eurovision şarkılarının altında 1 haftadan az süreli yorumlar var. Adamlar bile şarkılarını unuttu biz bütün Eurovision tarihini ezberledik.
Çünkü her birimiz eski zamanları özledik.
@@Pretty-savage000 oh I do comprehend the lyrics very well, and having done research on multiple phenomenal lyricists, the lyrics of this song are garbage. However I must complement the melody rybak has chosen here, the chordal progression used within this song makes it more catchy and likeable, thus the lyrics becoming a mere napkin to brand it off as a "pop song".
Because (in my opinion) he isn‘t a good Singer. ( i am from Germany sorry for my grammar mistakes) At some Parts you can hear that he‘s voice ?*cracks*? and he is breathing really loudly

@@JapaneseSoomi he's from Belarus

The legendary song that will never get old♥️✨️
He's in love with a fairytale meaning he's in love with the idea of his relationship with her. They had a terrible relationship, clearly from the song, but he's romanticizing it because he misses her. The "fairytale" aspect is a version of their relationship that only consists of the happy parts, a sugar-coded, rose-tinted version of them, and he's in love with the idea of it.
Damn, you got the meaning of the music perfectly!
Thanks of explaining!!!
But what does he mean by him being cursed?
Bruh🔥🔥
