You're the first UA-camr I have seen w/ this type of stand mixer. It is very cool. I think Americas Test Kitchen was the first time I saw one. Thanks for the video.
Yeah, we don't go for heavy sweetness ourselves, so I have a feeling it wouldn't be our usual thing either, but glad the recipe turned out so well and the salt balance was so good! That's always key for me, trying to get that right. Loved this, Ajay!
I love comparison videos but I also know that takes a lot of work to film. Honestly, anything you put out I would be more than happy to watch :D @@TheCultureofCookery
That's a good idea too! I personally am not a huge fan of whipped cream that's not sweet - something about it playing tricks on my brain haha. But you definitely need something that counterbalances the sweetness of the pie!
OMG, I always get a slice when I go somewhere that has a MilkBar store. I was just having some that I got in Vegas before going to the airport. I got home and almost swallowed the little slice whole, because I love it so much! Which led me to look up the recipe, because it’s so expensive and I wanted to check if would be feasible to make it at home. Maybe I’ll give it a try and make it for (USA) Thanksgiving, otherwise I’ll eat the whole thing by myself 😅
If you like this then you might consider one of my favorite southern desserts which is very similar. It's known as Chess Pie. So unhealthy so so so so so (I can't type enough "so") good.
What recipe do you think of when you think of Christina Tosi? Are you making this one?

Appreciate the encouragement! Thanks for watching!

Nice video. I really appreciate your making this pie so we can know whether it lives up to the hype.
Glad it was helpful! Enjoy making it!
@@TheCultureofCookery Now that you’ve made it, I won’t! And I thank you for saving me the trouble 😂

Thanks Susan! Definitely a sweet eat, but good to try at least once!
I would love more baking videos!! Perhaps one on brownies, carrot cake or cookies??
Thank you so much for your efforts in testing these recipes 🤗
Thanks for taking time to leave a comment! Glad to be of service! Would you prefer videos like this one or comparison videos?

@@harutran4703 appreciate you! Thanks so much! I’ve actually got another comparison video in the works! 🤫🤫

the first (and only) time i made this i think i doubled the oat cookie recipe bc i was not about to halve an egg yolk lol. great job!
Because it is very sweet, you should serve with unsweetened whipped cream on the side

I've seen a lot of people raving about the Milk Bar Pumpkin Pie recipe. It looks like a lot of work but might be something you'd like to try!
Definitely tasty! Not sure that I would make it again though 🤫
Can you use corn meal instead?
I don’t think so unfortunately. Corn meal is pretty grainy and would give a different texture without the same flavourp

Agreed! We had a Milkbar store in my city, but unfortunately it closed down! You should definitely give it a try! Not too difficult to pull off!

Ohhh chess pie! I’ve heard of that one but never tried it. Will definitely give the recipe a gander.
Great video.
Appreciate the love! Thanks!
How is this 90$??
Very nice 👍
Thank you 👍
Also known as Southern Chess Pie or Vinegar pie
You can’t say the word crack?
