I have it in green for a few years now. The tip of the nib was peculiarly shaped giving a bold medium line. I did not liked it much, so I finally grinded the nib to more fine tipped and smoothed it. Now I like it much more. The ink flow is moderate and a good match for the nib. This is my goto office pen when I do not have to watch if I loose it or not. But frankly, I would regret if that happens now that it performs well. I like the filling mechanism very much. The rubber rings for capping the pen might wear out eventually, but they are still going strong.

Wow, Bic is probably the last brand name I expected to see on a fountain pen.

Why? Because you have very little knowledge about BiC?

    1. That's one weird nib, but it seems to write ok. I wonder why more manufacturers don't sell it.
    2. I have 6 beginner/children's pens. 3 of them don't post, all with lumps on the end as if to eliminate even the thought of posting. I don't know why, but it is definitely a thing. I happen to prefer the nibs that come on these pens.

Butterfly nibs were quite popular back in the day. They do not hold well. A kid’s pen is probably the best fit for such nibs.

It is on Amazon...but it's $22+ for one pen...no color choice option

They are available on Amazon. (Isn't everything? 😁) I think that it's interesting that the company that is almost singlehandedly responsible for the decline in fountain pen use makes a fountain pen. If I'm not mistaken, they got the design when they bought up another company (possibly the same one that made the cheaper Coca-Cola advertising fountain pens, if I remember correctly.)

I shall keep looking around...I really don't want to pay $22 for one of these. I am a big fan of TWSBI Ecos.

I had a Reynolds fountain pen. The easyclick nib looks very similar to the Reynolds nib.

I bought this fountain pen when I was around 11 (because I lost another fountain pen in the plane) and I always liked it. I didn't have much knowledge of fountain pens at that moment. I liked the way of loading the cartidge. I gave it away and unfortunately they lost the cap, so it no longer writes.

I could see putting “troublesome” inks in those.

If you don't put tipping material on a nib, but fold it as in this pen, how does that affect wear rate on the nib? Obviously I know the Bic EasyClic is not intended to last a lifetime. It's not that sort of pen. I presume the 'tip' of a folded nib will wear down pretty quickly. The writing performance of this product is quite good I thought. I actually like the 'loading system' for ink cartridges. It seems fairly secure.

In theory, yes it will wear down quicker. But you would really need to write with this pen A LOT for it to make a difference. I have other pens with the same style nib and have not noticed any problems, but I don't have a single pen that I use daily. If that were the case it might be different.

It is steel so it don’t wear easily.most student pen are made this way here, they have absolutely no flex as well how hard the nib is.

Emerson is supposed to sheen more than nitrogen, the lack of sheen is probably just from the bad pen and wrong paper.

A curiously low-qual & odd build. Cheap? Yup it's cheap. A Bic Crystal is cheaply made too but the ball point at the business end of the pen works extremely well. This Bic EasyClic design does not impress. In particular, it doesn't matter if it's a freebie, a ten cent pen or a thousand dollars ... it has to write well. I'll stick with my fountain pens but if I had to go really, really cheaply, I know I can depend on a Bic Crystal to write well. It won't be the sensual experience that is any decent fountain pen including ultra cheapies like a Pilot Metropolitan. Not 10 cents but the pilot is a real pen.
