At the risk of committing philosophy without a license, one could argue that a Hello Kitty fountain pen is good gateway pen to lure young'uns into a habit that will eventually lead to MontBlanc Meisterstuck.or at least an Edison Collier.

I just looked this pen up at Amazon. Hello Kitty seems to have her claws in a lot of merchandise. This pen is a good idea for my great niece (who is a Hello Kitty fanatic). I wish there were Superman and Batman pens. I have great nephews as well.

Props to SBRE for reviewing this pen at all, really. We know what to expect for $20, $50, $100+. I assume these Hello Kitty pens can be had at Walgreen's, et al, for under $2, and if you strip away the kid art, you have not a bad pen, with some flex! Clearly aimed at the earlier school grades, where..we are to assume that penmanship is still being taught?
The nib is just folded metal. I love these pens and I am no stranger to £150+ pens, but I still have about seven of these ones. I take them as what I call 'shopping list' pens-- that is to say ones I can smash on the ground and not give a damn about. I LOVE them!
Cute. A pen for the little ones. You handled that in a commendably manly fashion, Steven. I expect Aurora to steal that cartridge loading trick, don't you? Or has Montblanc already?
It may look suitable for the task, but do not use the ink loading mechanism for BDSM purposes. It restricts blood flow to a dangerous degree, if the pivot comes unseated it will cause painful bruising and you will nearly have to break the pen to remove it. (The plastic is amazingly pliable at the worst times.)
That is all made up, but it might be fun to see how many people read this far into my comment.

Could you please review the bic twist and up? It's only a couple of pounds/dollars/euros and it's a retractable nib at a price for everyone. I can only get the flowery design so hope you have better luck there
I guess it will a pain in the arse to wash it. It seems it doesn't have enough room for a converter to flush it. Can the section or the nib and feed be disassembled?

It actually seems like a decent pen. I'd buy it if it didn't have Hello Kitty plastered all over it.
