Great technique! I’m about to try it with 15 pounds of Roma tomatoes for which I’m sure will work as well!

The peeling tip is great! I was doing the seeding method (more-or-less) already, by stumbling into it.
Really enjoy your vids, and refer to them often for meals. Thanks!

Here's my tip: when seeding tomato, cut the tomato in half THE OTHER WAY, ie. parallel to the stem. the halves will show all the seed "compartments". Then just put your fingers inside, wiggle around to loosen all the seeds (yes it does sound weird), then go to your sink and shake the hella of that tomato. All the seeds will just fly out into the sink and it's so much faster than to cut each tomato into, what, like 8 pieces.

We're getting canning tomatoes soon at our coop, and I'd like to can them for the winter. Could you do a recipe on canning, preferably no salt, no sugar and no fat? Just pure tomatoes :)

Hi Dani.. will this recipe work for chopped canned tomatoes? ? I generally do the same thing by boiling tomatoes.. but this looks grt. .

Dani, I'm guessing you did this with room temperature tomatoes, but perhaps I'm wrong. I just know that when I tried this with ones stored in my fridge, it took closer to 3-4 minutes of soaking in hot water before I could peel them. I'm all for the jelly and the seeds, so I'm glad you let others know it's okay to keep them in.

Thaneii Yes - they were room temperature (I never store my tomatoes in the fridge!) - but that is a great point to make. Thanks:)

I only mention it since I grow my own, and as such, when you grow your own at your new home next year, you may find the need to store them in your fridge as they all ripen in large quantities at about the same time. Thanks again for the great video.

CORRECTION! We can't argue that the seeds may have some nutrient benefits to them to some extent however the reason the old Italians peeled and removed the seeds from tomatoes in the old days is they realized their people were having health issues with the elders that didn't peel and remove the seeds from the tomatoes. Come to find out the skin and peel on tomatoes are packed with lectins which are a protein that binds with sugar molecules and are about the ONLY molecules that have the ability to move through your mucus lining and bust through your one cell thick intestinal lining to cause the condition known as LEAKY GUT!!!! This goes for ALL of the plants considered in the "nightshade vegetables" which are really fruit if they have seeds. REMOVE THOSE PEELS AND SEEDS to limit your exposure to leaky gut!
