I've never cooked with pumpkin before, and it's such a large vegetable. I was planning on making pumpkin soup for Halloween this year, so thank you very much for showing how simple it is to break one down to use.
thank you chef for explaining how very simple it is to cut a pumpkin... Happy Harvesting🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃
I should have checked this video before peeling the pumpkin this morning-a lot of pain😂
Short answer - sharpen your knife, or get a better one. Long answer, everything takes practice, don't give up.
Simple...Thanks Chef for your help...this will be my first time to prepare a fresh pumpkin for soup.
And if you want to make a couple of snacks and a nice drink to have with them, pan-fry (or deep fry if you're feeling naughty) those skins in some oil and toss them with your favorite seasonings for some chips; sift through the innards to separate the stringy bits from the seeds and bake the latter for a second snack; and dry out the stringy bits to steep in some boiling water for a tea!
Thank you so much for your live demonstration to understand cut safely
Thank you! About to try a pumpkin gnocchi recipe - now that I see how to peel the pumpkin. Many thanks.
Love the accent, mix between Scottish and American, can we cook the skin with the inner pumpkin?
Yes. I just cut mine in half and leave the skin on and gut it. After I bake it I just pull off the skin with my fingers, comes right off!
When the boss is standing right there, while you do the demo

I love making pumpkin soup I add onion and carrots too , and chicken
George brown Chefs are kicking ass one pumpkin at a time.
kick ass! growing pumpkins right now and getting ready
Wonderful! Thank you
Thank you!
Thanks and
Happy Halloween 🎃
Thank you! Before I watched this it was always a battle of me vs the pumpkin.
Save time, roast the pumpkin whole. The rind practically falls off!
That's just fine for if you're making puree. But for soup, you really want to start with uncooked chunks.
Could warm pumkin in over befire cutting to soften
this makes more sense to do it this way.
Mine was flat shape like a wheel. Not possible to chop the hard top that “easily”. Took me 1h to peel this 🤯. I need a longer knife
He's forgotten how to say "tomato" properly... but thanks for a great video! Good job!
Chefffffffffffff I have the same kinda pmkin but but but the skin is thick and hard. The knife doesn't go through like your does. The peeler slips out so the hand it's too tough what do I do?
You just have to go slow and be careful
Warm the pumpkin in oven to soften
Skinning pumpkins
Nice Chef...
Trying to suss out his accent. I’m definitely hearing Scottish with a hint of American
Show me the recipes
I got a small one
Is he Scottish or whit ?
he doesn't know what accent he wants to use
can you really call yourself a chef if you dont know what a Pumpkin is? saying vegetable or fruit, its not a vegetable, its a fruit, pretty good video though, also i hope the seeds were saved as you can bake those and eat them
But i still wanna keep the outside for Halloween! Thumbs down
...4 minutes and 4 seconds of MEH!
Thank you for your insights - we're sorry that this video wasn't helpful to you, so we went to your channel looking for your better / more exciting pumpkin video but couldn't find it.
