I mean it definitely ensures that your rifle and mags aren’t going to be sliding around no matter what you do with the case. I’m sure it’s great peace of mind knowing you could literally just toss it in the back seat floorboard and not be worrying about anything moving out of its place or getting a rest he’d up or anything.

Yeah do not spray clear coat on open cell foam it actually causes it to degrade faster. If you want firmer foam just stack layers of open cell and closed cell (EVA) foam. Also if you want a glue that won't spiderweb use 3M 45 spray adhesive

Can 3M 45 be had at Home Despot? I’m doing the same thing to a Cabela’s case that I got for my 6mm Pro Shop Barrett M99.

Or use something like Plastidip, it'll keep the foam soft but not 'pluckable'

But only thing it fits Swweeet but you cut the padding out of the back of the weapon instead of padding surrounding it all around it sure it looks good but the back of the weapon is hitting hard !
Well if you mess up you can just put that old foam back in 🤣
Man turned one case into a whole armory
You need something to separate the weapons to prevent scratches and gouges from forming in the finishes.
I have that it's just another thin sheet the same as I laid first to line the box between the two. I just kept it out if the video at the end so when I opened it to show the two guns otherwise it would be in the way.

Damn my guy is getting hate… I’m in the military so I’m usually the one making fun of airsoft because I don’t understand how people think it’s fun to play war. But after some of these comments I gotta say it’s your hobby you own it so power to you my guy haters gonna hate… what ever makes you happy…

Also you can have look at it differently.
People like to collect stuff, some like cars, some like knives or swords, some like guns so that's one thing.
Second thing is that you are not dying for real during play so it's fun to repeatedly experience that dopamine and adrenaline and also it kinda help you keep the shape.
Third, you are getting experience in combat even tho it's just a play.
And last one, I know war is very bad but imagine if real war break in and you have to fight and you've been just given equipment and sent to the front line withouth training, it's always better to have some basic knowledge on what to do and how to behave even if you take that from "fake combat plays" :)
Nobody wants war when we're playing airsoft. Just like video games, we don't play GTA to become pimps and mobsters in real life. It's just play pretend, like we did when we were little. Cops and robbers. We play pretend war, we know it's not real. We just like to make it look as real as possible for our own enjoyment. And then there's the collector bit, where people just hoard airsoft related stuff because we all loved toy guns when we were kids. Plus when you play the game, it's always different from our day to day lives, we don't normally run in the fields or sneak in houses hunting for other people in our day jobs.

Gotta do this to for the case for my and my wifes ARs. Both pistol builds so they both fit but would be nice.
Look into kaizen foam, it’s much better for this application.
My first thought was "add pluck foam" and you did just that, well done

As a german, thats easy to accomplish, just have a Rifle that can 2 mags back to back without a jam
I work in art handing and using blades that are shaped 3.5" x 9" like a more squarish cleaver are really good for making perfect cuts in foam with a grazing cut. Fox Green tips 975 - Joakim tips 1

So, the factory for that stuff (bostik?)is near my house, I thought it was cool
Common practice in the military. Another trick is to have you bottoms foam layer a different color (ie blue or red) this contrasts the black foam and makes for easy identification of missing parts of your kit. Also, just looks better when you pull your kit out.
I have done one case like that your right it looks good and is more practical.
Have you noticed any scraping on the guns or anything? Would be concerned both sides like that would cause the guns to scratch each other.
No I haven't but then again all my guns are run hard and get scratched in the field so I don't care if they get a few scratches
@@FOXGREEN must get some of that foam, running a light and wouldn't mind a nice shaped space in the case
@@evanburbidge2030 if it concerns you then you could also get a thin foam sheet to insert between them

looks nice but hopefully the case never takes a tumble because there is little to no padding between those rifles and the hard outer case but being airsoft, it should be fine id just put a lil more padding and only put one rifle into a case if using real firearms especially.
At first I was like who has toys in a case ( I know nothing of the hobby) then at the end I was just well done my friend well done.

Anyone watching this, spraying the pluckfoam with Plastidip is hands down the best way to preserve the pluck foam, in my experience. And it helps the foam repel moisture
Yes that's what I actually wanted to get but it was out os stock. Plastidip is much better!

Pick and pluck foam's OK for a while, but it usually comes apart with extended use. For custom case inserts, I prefer to use few different thicknesses of normal foam, and cut out the required shapes using an electric kitchen knife. If any spot needs finagling, a Dremal at full speed with a sanding drum can be used to carefully "Brush" at areas to smooth them out.
With practice you can get really neat results with just these two tools.

Those little soft squares always come apart, so you end up having a bunch of little pieces flying around and then your gun is loose. I would have kept the original.
Mine don't did you not see the step where I join them together with a laqour. That's the most important step. I have since added plastidip to it which gives it an almost plastic finish so those squares are going no where. 👍

Scratchs don't bother me anyway they guns get fired around in the field so they are covered in them anyway.
@@FOXGREEN you should still respect the weapon and protect it. The scratches should have a story and not be because you lackadaisically lay your rifle on the ground.

Water sealer is that ?
Its basically a spray varnish is all. It marked the foam surfa e hard if you apply three coats so it's more robust.

Pick and pluck sounds great until pieces start falling out after a few year and it turns into a mess.

I did kinda the same thing with a handgun case and every time I would pull one out the foam would start to tear but after watching your video I saw you used clear coat so now I’m going to do the same thank you 👍
You can actually get a much better product called plastidip spray that over it and its all once peice ots amazing try that if you can get your hands on it 😉
Going down from two inches of foam to a half inch always helps impact resistance.
These guns don't need that much protection man they get flung in the dirt and used as they should be. Plus they are made if machine aluminium 😂 I wanted a case that can carry two guns and that ehn I open all the shit doesn't fall all over the place. So this is perfect. Plus it now carry two full set ups.

you know the foam with the little squares is so you can ouch your gun into it and then pull all the pieces out so you don’t have to do all that cutting, but i like the glueing part bc my square are all coming off
Yes I know and if you want a tight fit so it doesn't fall out when you open it, then the squares aren't good enough. I can still pull out 99% or the squares this way fast.
A little extra time for perfection is worth it.

It's cool looking but now you need a sheet in-between because you did parts on both halves. If these were real, you would quickly destroy them from rubbing together. You're going to damage and scratch everything which defeats the purpose entirely.

These airsoft guns are basically made from the same external materials as real rifs the realisim in airsoft guns nowadays is crazy. Some are licensed by the real manufactures etc with serial number. They are super though.
This case's primary function is organisation and carrying not protection as the guns get fired around in the field banged of walls thrown in the mud etc. I don't mind scratches as these are not made for the range or to look pretty. They are made to be used and bandged up in games 😉

To make it easier when you take the egg crate foam out if it’s still in one piece flip it upside down on top of the foam you want to cut and use it to cut around

My gun bags are a medium sized sling bag for 2 handguns and all ammo. And 1 long bag for my long guns and shotgun. I fit like 10 15 round mags of 9mm and a ziploc bag for 12 gauge shells and 3 mags for 5.56. my sling bag weighs like 50 pounds on range day and after range day like 10 lmao.

Just measure it and order it cut professionally, you’re not on a budget (It seems) and it’ll complement the weapon and accessories much more.
Ya I could do it in fairness but I guess I just tried it to see what would happen. I know it could be way better and I didn't exactly take my time either but if I had I could make it much neater.
I have now done my four other boxes like this any tye results are very good I am more about functionality over looks and I think these work well so fir now I am happy with them at least.
