I just broke my same front right diff cup for the 2nd time today hitting the ramp. It literally busted on the impact of the ramp so your explanation is now putting things into perspective. I do have m2c outdrives so ill see if that helps. Idk if they are any linger but maybee just stronger. I think they are tool steel.
Brilliant vid , thank you for taking the time to create this . I will be flowing your advise as I am experiencing the dreaded drive shaft pop . Nice that you kept the red caps on the lower arms and not just binned them as they do look cool 😎
Good stuff brother excellent video. Another thing you can do to push those dog bones in another millimeter or so is by simply putting a shim Over the CVD Axel “before” inserting it into the Steering block/knuckle.
@EastTactics I'm trying to make the rear of the Kraton narrower to compete with my tekno. Do you think inner shaft spacers with the Typhon 0mm offset will work? 🤔
I have just brought rpm a-arms for the v4 kraton (they are slightly shorter than stock) and shock mount pins AR3300231. This will push the big bone tighter into the cup 👊
I'm just now seeing your video. I made a UA-cam vid about popping out the drive shafts. Same deal. A few months ago. You drilled out the red ring and made up the 1.5 mm being shorter. I just removed it on one and ground off to make a ring fit. You did this about a year ago. How is it holding up now. Does the ring pop out and have to end up removing it completely? Just cerous.
It's still running fine so far :) it's an issue on all the arrma 6s range unfortunately it's like they didn't even try to drive any of the rc's they sell :(
Good video bud. My Kraton caught my sons leg and popped out the shaft. It seemed to pop out way too easily given its an EXB and they take serious stick (meant to). Will be doing this and seeing how I get on. Cheers bud!
How can I fix a ball joint that has popped out on my Arrma 6S RC car? Looking for detailed steps and preventive measures to stop it from happening again. Thanks
@@WTFRCCars I'm having an issue with the ball joint that holds the wheel hub on. It seems to be bigger than the cup. Any tips on how to put it back in? Thanks!
@johntu7484 you have to screw it all the way out then remove the outer cap cover, then fit it from the outside and replace the cap cover, but if it's popped out then it will pop out again and to stop it you need a new hub.
This happens on my Aarma Talion as well. Really disappointed with the out of the box quality and design to be honest. I spend way more time fixing my Talion than driving it. I was on the fence between the Talion and the Traxxas Sledge and can’t help but wonder if I shouldn’t have bought the Sledge instead 🤷♂️
From my experience aarma are unusable out the box I've yet to find one of their rc's that don't have some kind of flaw that stops you running it without spending time and money on them 1st but when you do get them sorted they are fun rc's :) so stick with it I'm sure you will love it when you get it working well
@@WTFRCCars I ended up shortening the arms and adding a 5mm bump stop to the shocks. Instead of using the RC4WD cups, I just replaced them with a new set of M2C cups as the stock ones got totally mangled. So far, no problems. But I do have a couple of the chrome RC4WD cups. At first glance, they didn't look any longer than the stock ones, but maybe they were.
The output cups you linked too don't look like the ones you used. With longer cups, your not running into issues with the cups getting split from the dog bone pressing on them as it articulates? I've had that happen on my maxx4s 2 or 3 times now. EDIT: sorry, looking at the ones you ended up with, they didn't appear to be scooped on the top/bottom of the cup, but I guess they are. Any clue why they offer silver and black ones via that aliexpress link?
No issues at all with it now runs great, with limiting the amount of compression on the shocks it can't get anywhere near jamming up the cups and still has plenty of travel :) and I have checked the ones in the like and there still the same :)
i had the same problem .i shorten the top and bottom arms by 1/8 and screwed the balls back in and fixed the problem. It never came out again. and you would never now what i did. the arms are 1/8 to long.OR make the axels 1/8 longer.
I’m having this problem too. I don’t know how Arrma released this truck with this problem. My truck is 100% stock and first day on a track with smooth jumps, nice landings and it still popped out over and over. It makes me question if they even test these things
Yeh I love the k6 exb but I have never had to mod so many parts on an RC just to make it work reliable :( and think ya right no one can have ever driven one of them before they released it or surly they would have seen the issue with the drive shaft?
Taking parts off and having to drill them is not a regular way of doing anything lol I have loads of RC with ball hubs and yeh it's normal to adjust camber it's not normal to have drive shafts pop out with the stock settings :)
We tried it with the red ring removed but still failed without the fuel tubing restricting the shock compression but I think the tolerance on arrma is all over the place so I don't think the exact same fix will work from one to the other :( I think it's just a case of try and see what works on the RC you have :)
This looks a little complicated for me, but I have had my Kraton 6S v5 for a couple of weeks and have had problems with the front drive shafts coming out since I've had it. Today 3 times just using it on a field with small bumps/dips so in the end I gave up :(

Glad ya like it and yeh still looks good and they no longer pop out :)

Good idea 👍
that will work to

Worth a try :)
its a major problem arrma needs to fix this
I honestly don't think they care at all cos it's been an issue on all the rc's they make and it still is unfortunately :(

Thank you very much for that. That is the only issue I have been having with my outcast
Should sort it :)

Do you mean the actual ball joint that holds the wheel hub on ?

What's the difference between the chrome and black output drives in the link? Are the black ones longer cups?
Not sure only the black ones where available when I got them but I would think there the same just chromed

ps grind the end of the arms off with sandpaper or a file. You don't need much .no more then 1/8 of a inch''.

how did you shorten the arms
It's all in the video

Great fix. Though annoying that we have to do this. I'm having problems with the rear left. So will try this out tomorrow 😃
Yeh not great that we have to do it from new just to make them usable :(
Might have to give that a try :)
Nice to know thanks, I'm not sure why arrma do many things the way they do tbh lol
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Did you drive with this Mods? The Cups, are good, or Bad? I have the same Problem, with the Front drive shaft.
Yeh all seems a lot better now and the cups although way cheaper than arrma part are perfectly fine :)
@@WTFRCCars Do you know how long the Fueltube is, for the Shock?
I'd start with 10mm on each side you can always cut it down later

Are you from Yorkshire
No border of Derbyshire/Nottinghamshire
It's not that you have diiscovered a new way to deal with your specific issue, you've just discovered the regular way to adjust camber and toe
Taking parts off and having to drill them is not a regular way of doing anything lol I have loads of RC with ball hubs and yeh it's normal to adjust camber it's not normal to have drive shafts pop out with the stock settings :)
What size of drill did you use on the little red spacer?
Sorry can't remember but if you make it just larger than the base of the silver pivot ball that's all that is needed :)
Cool. It looks like 9mm but I'll see how I get on. Thanks again for all these information videos. They really do help. 👍👍👍
Well it not fallen out since the mod :) so you should be good with it
Thanks buddy. 👍
No probs give me a shout if ya get stuck :)
The best way to do it was to sand down the red ring and sand the mold he sits on and remove the top clip+fuel tubbing
We tried it with the red ring removed but still failed without the fuel tubing restricting the shock compression but I think the tolerance on arrma is all over the place so I don't think the exact same fix will work from one to the other :( I think it's just a case of try and see what works on the RC you have :)
What I.D. fuel line did you use there?
It was just some random 2mm ID that I had lying around :)
Great tip. Thanks for that. 👍👍👍👍

My experience today …
Drop screws on both sides in the front!!
Not sure what ya saying?
