As someone who's played guitar for three years (still a mere amateur though), this is truly impressive. To be able to play that song decently with only 7 days of experience is cool. It's also cool that you're self-taught and not going through actual lessons! Keep it up!
I appreciate u 🥲 I think the harder part was posting this LOLL
@@RichardSabiagaYT lmaoooo. It was fs inspirational tho
Actual lessons are great tho
I learned for six months but like not consistently, but pretty much I learned it
@@RichardSabiagaYT for only playing a week, it's impressive, but i think the intro to "do i wanna know" by the arctic monkeys would have been a better choice, very easy to learn, sounds good, girls love it
doing stupid things and not caring about what other people say is fun
YUPPPP THIS IS THE WAYYYY
It’s like fuck you I’m gonna do what I want in the best way possible
RIGHTTTT NO CARE IN THE WORLD ABOUT WHAT ANYONE THINKS@@pixelzebra8440
1. play until your fingers bleed. 2. when picking, use your wrist instead of elbow or shoulder, and rest the side of your palm on the bridge. 3. some good songs to learn are: most nirvana and ac/dc and some metallica. theres a lot of other fun and easy songs that are way easier than they sound. Theres a ton of really helpful videos on youtube if you dig deep enough.
and tune your guitar every time before you play
@@Gliese710_ heck no
you should pick with your entire forearm and try to be as relaxed as possible.
picking from your wrist will result in less efficient picking and likely carpal tunnel, and you don't always need to rest your palm on the bridge, otherwise good advice though :)
@@laurencehortop853 I don't think picking with the entire forearm is more efficient than wrist picking though, most of the time people use their forearm is for string skipping as far as I'm concerned, combine with wrist. Imo the wrist is a lot more flexible for 1 string picking since it provides a faster and more stable motion while the forearm is for smth that requires more effort, like string skipping.
11:15 HOLY SHIT. THANK YOU SO MUCH. i've been trying to mention to people who started guitar and drop it immediately because it was "too hard", that absolutely NOTHING isn't hard at first. walking was hard. learning to read was hard. learning math was hard. hell, everything that takes SKILL is hard to learn at first. i think thats the beauty in it, honestly. i'm an intermediate guitarist, but when i finally get that song or solo right, it just. makes my day. the overwhelming sense of euphoria is just. awesome. so when i see advanced players nail a very complicated solo, i can only imagine the amount of time and effort they put into that, and that makes it sound even better, in my opinion. and when i see beginners, like you, put their all into a skill? it's beautiful.
Just listened to my father playing his guitar yesterday and after watching the Bocchi the rock! anime I felt like I wanna pick it up and try it out as well. I can definitely say it's way too hard for me considering I've never picked up a guitar my whole life til now but seeing your comment and this vid truly inspired me to continue on this random journey I threw myself into.
W show do it@@horz6773
I picked it up pretty quick, soloed my first time playing. Teacher said I was a savant. I'm 14 now and can play pretty much any polyphilia song with ease
@@shotboy200 ur so epic bro
i like your scott pfp
i'm a self-taught guitarist, i've been playing the guitar for a couple years now and all i can say is you sound awesome dude!! ofc your guitar not being in tune made me hurt inside, however considering the amount of time you gave yourself it sounds good! keep practicing and in another 7 days you'll be a pro.
HAHA that's so real❤
Indeed. Every beginner guitarist has to play a song on 1 string eventually. Wait till he learns that the notes are the same across the fretboard.
As a guitarist I never thought I could watch a beginner struggle and not look down on them. This was wholesome and cool as heck.
Yeah, made me want to pick my guitar today. Made me remember the struggle of the first 2 months.
You must be a fun person to be around, most people that have some skill set, like and encourage new people, but you look down on them, nice.
@@mainsidequest5203 You can look down on someone internally. It's not always expressed. That doesn't stop anyone (including myself) from encouraging people who are only beginning and are struggling.
@@myth2285it’s still kind of a dick nature in my opinion. It’s cool that you go against that and encourage them but my first instinct was to laugh with him not at him. How can you look down on someone when you practically went through the same thing they did.
@@Opin10n which I did too. It's like a first nature cringing feeling because it reminds you of how you started out. Idk if that makes sense
nah cuz why is richie like one of the funniest but most inspirational youtubers to me tysm richie ive been needing to write an application essay for months atp and its due rlly soon i was just about to give up so i came on youtube and then i saw that u posted i got so happy and now after watching i think im gonna get back to work on my essays and actually finish them. if i get in i srsly owe it all to u so thank u for posting stuff like this and ilysm
YEAHHHH U GOT THISSSS
sooo updates?
As someone who just started guitar, I'm glad I found someone who understands how much this hurts. Mentally and physically, it has made me cry when I first tried doing it because I kept failing. Also, I love the music and love this.
I can really connect on the mental and physical pain. I just hate that feeling when you're trying over and over to get something, making no progress, you're getting sweaty and frustrated and it's been 45 minutes. I've been playing guitar with guided lessons and I'd like to think I'm decent now, but no matter how good you are I feel like any guitarist could agree with your comment.
Keep going man! It will pay off,I promise!
I was trying and it hurt, but it hurt less than I expected. I got the basic chords down in a week. And started switching chords week 2.
how is it going man
@@allahyazanelma It’s going well. I’ve been taking tons of breaks from it though cause I usually get busy and forget about it 😅
I got a guitar yesterday, and it feels nice to see someone else experience some of the stuff I’m experiencing right now. I’ve been drawing consistently for a few years, so I know that feeling of failure. It’ll be weird to feel it again, but I know it doesn’t last forever. Hope you continue to learn👍
I just bought one yesterday, any tips im struggling lol and i cant find many videos that help lol
@@heatherchandler3186 Well, if it's not in a garbage dump by now... I could offer a few tips/steps, having been a guitarist for about 4 years.
0. MOST IMPORTANT - Probably obvious, but HAVE FUN. More on that on point 3.
1. AS IMPORTANT AS 0 - Don't stress too much about not getting it right. Sleep does wonders. You'll literally get better overnight, and it will eventually be committed to long-term memory, so you'll just do it by reflex. The more you do it, the easier, and more automatic it becomes. There's a saying: "If you can play it slow, you can play it fast".
Heck, it will be harder doing it one step at a time. Tho do be careful with that, it's a blessing and a curse. Occasionally switch to slower tempos just to ensure you are hitting all the notes and playing clean (I'm very guilty of going too fast to notice mistakes xd)
It requires effort, but it's easy at the same time, cuz you just get it one day. But there's no shortcut. Just gotta practice, practice, practice.
2. Learn the basic "campfire" chords if you didn't start by now.
(For reference, took me about 2 months to learn and somewhat switch between, with ~ 30m-1h, almost everyday - started on an acoustic, so my fingers couldn't take more than that xd)
A,C,D,E,G (major), Am, Em (minor) are the easiest and most common. One day you'll have to challenge the bar chords, but don't bother for at least a few months, as it can be very discouraging.
These magical shapes will appear in basically every pop, country, "campfire" song and the such, but most importantly, you'll learn the most common finger+hand+wrist placements, and that will be the basis for most of what's to come. They are so useful and easy to improvise with, and you can learn so many songs (or a part of them) with just these, that you might be tempted to stop here.
2.1. You can relax a bit by learning power chords. As simple as it gets, and you'll unlock the rock genre, basically xd
The tricky part is moving between frets here.
2.2. Try to strum from the wrist, not the whole arm. It's more efficient, faster, and easier once you get the hang of it. Best tip I can give really.
3. Learn songs that you like. Seriously, from the get go! Now it depends on the person, but I have skipped a lot of the easy recommended songs to go for stuff I was actually listening to. Can't say if it's the right way, but that's what motivated me the most, even if it didn't sound on par with the original, and even if it was taking me a few months to half a year to get a song to acceptable levels (Fade to Black - Metallica). Maybe do a bit of both (search easy-to-play ones, and also take a shot at sth simple sounding that u listen to)
3.1. Play along with the original. This was and still is my favorite feeling, and you'll sound 10x better when following the original, mostly because of the backing track, that u can search separately. But don't do that all the time since you don't want to mask mistakes while learning.
4. Learn to play arpeggios (a chord played one note at a time, string by string separately)
4.1. Try fingerstyle after you get familiar with arpeggios. Some may consider it a bit of a jump, but I think it has helped me immensely that after about 1 year I started learning fingerstyle through "FMAB OP1 - Again, arranged by Eddie van der Meer". A HUGE jump I'd say, but you can start lower (and sooner than 1 year), with sth like "Light's theme" from Death Note.
5. Some next steps, or things that you can throw anywhere in the middle really (they are a bit more separate and "non-essential" than the previous stuff I'd say): bends, pull-offs, hammer-ons, harmonics, taps. Based on what you're trying to learn, you'll probably come across them, especially if you are learning rock songs.
----------------------------
TL;DR: have fun, dont stress cuz you'll just get it overnight, learn campfire chords (strum from wrist), learn stuff you like even if it's harder, and play along, learn arpeggios and maybe fingerstlye
SORRY FOR THE WALL OF TEXT, BUT I HOPE IT HELPS YOU, OR SOMEONE. GOOD LUCK!!
i'm doing it the complete opposite way as you, i'm currently learning to draw right now and it's been a fun frustrating journey so far but i'll keep my self hopeful that i will get better. just like i did with guitar
As someone who’s someone decent now after 3 years of putting full effort into it, I can say the best advice I always tell people IS TO JUST PLAY EVERYDAY, also make sure to record yourself at least audibly it will help you realize how much progress you’ve made overtime, and of course play the music you want to play that way you can be inspired to play more often, as long as you have the time and dedication to consistently and constantly play you WILL improve slowly but surely, a year goes by super fast you’ll improve very quickly if you keep this up
As a guitarist myself I am impressed you did wayy better than me in my first days
*Song Recommendation:*
also Id give a song recommendation "Smells like teen spirit" by nirvana and a guitarist would be like yeah that's easy but to be honest beginners think that's hard
*Picking:*
I recommend putting your pinky and ring finger on the pickguard of the guitar it would really help with plucking the right strings and not mess up by plucking other strings but when you strum just close your fingers and use your thumb and pointer finger to hold the pick and its better to move your wrists than your whole arm while strumming
*Chords:*
Just press hard like your life matters on it after a few months u will grow hard skin and that would help alot and I think you're good I mean there's nothing else to improve (other than guitar theory and techniques like pinch harmonic and other stuff)
although I might be young (11 yo) you can learn electric guitar like me like If I (a kid) is an Intermediate then you can learn guitar fully, I've played guitar for 2 years and this is amazing! All the best to learning guitar!
(that took 10 mins to think abt what I should write here and write it lmfao)
Almost too well written for an 11 year old
oh so putting the ring and pinky finger on the pickguard is normal?? i thought i was the only one doing it im glad others do it too lol
@@Iywanku yeah lol
@@davidtaylor8996 Uhh Am I supposed to take this as a compliment or?
also for fast picking i recommend slightly turning the pick and just picking with the tip of the pick so it makes a clear sound but is easy to pick through the string and also i dont hold my pick too hard in either position you can go easy on it
honestly, I have been playing violin for 7 years, and learning an instrument is so hard, especially at the beginning. Like I remember being so frustrated and comparing myself, but I kept up with it and now I play in orchestras. In violin, you also have to vibrato, and that stuff took me 3 months to figure out. So the fact that you made actual progress in vibrato after only a week is literally insane. So keep up with learning guitar richie! U r doing great, and one day u r gonna look back and realize the practice was worth it!!!
new way to be fine: the electric guitar???
Here before this comment blows up
I've been playing for nine years and no that's not true
@@Siemomm 💀 it’s alright have high hopes!
@@Siemommive been playing for less than nine years and yes that is true
it is very attractive
i used to play guitar before switching over to bass but you got a hell of a lot farther than i ever did in my first week. learning instruments are really challenging but the effort always pays off, hope you continue to play guitar!!
As a beginner guitar player, this is so inspiring
Thank you
How have you been progressing? :)
Tell us your progress! I hope you dont quit
Tell your progress:)
believe it or not, I've had a guitar since I was 5 years old, and It took me till I was 17 and actually took guitar seriously and got my first guitar tutor to learn that the metal on the guitar neck was used to make sound. (Don't ask me why). 3 years later, I finally got back into it and took it more seriously, and now I'm in a prog metal band after 3 MORE years of many failures and putting it down multiple times, I finally did it. It took me long enough, but it is what it is. Keep going, people go at their pace.
Band name?
its kind of said that you won't know the feeling of playing electric for the first time after playing acoustic guitar for months. (acoustic has way more painful songs and tougher strings)
haha I purposely started learning on an acoustic for this, I've been playing for a couple months and I got my first electric today!!
Hey man i’m like pretty good at acoustic guitar playing most classical and spanish piece. I have always been a little scared of playing electric since its different, will i be fine?
Dude. Go for it!! Electric guitar is actually MUCH easier in comparison to acoustic in the sense that the strings are thinner and more sensitive, the fretboard is closer together as well. I felt like a GOD my first time switching from acoustic to electric.
Literally all my ads for this video were about learning guitar…
And as a violist, I 100% understand the wrist, finger, and mental pain, you have made more progress in a week then me in my instrument for 5 years 😭
I hope this guy continues to play, he got so much potential 🗣️
best statement ever i look stupid looool! dont be afraid to look stupid new word to live by. first time seeing your stuff. keep it up and youll be shredding in no time.
as a guitarist this is accually pretty good for 7 days you could get pretty good one day if you play more, youll get more used to switching the chords and stuff and your fingers will accually hurt alot less as you play more. i recommend putting amp effects on your guitar like disortion or something, itll make it sound alot better.
You know… my parents bought me a classical guitar a few years ago because I told them that I wanted to try it out and it’s just been sitting in my room because I never knew where or how to start or if I should even do it.
Now, seeing you be able to pull of something like that only in a 7 day period was really inspiring to me.
And hey, I’m only 18. I’ve been told so many times that this is still the time in my life to do whatever I want to do. Maybe this will be the time that I’ll officially give it a try. I may look dumb doing it and may not even end up liking it, but I’ll never know until I actually try.
Thanks for this video, Richie.
Keep doing great things.
💖💖💕💕💕
same here omg, i'm planning to start over the winter break :) i've also always had an interest in electric guitar so i think the acoustic could be a good stepping stone
Classical guitar is a good first cos ur fingers won’t hurt as much especially on the lower strings just google Marty Schwartz on yt and u will be good
@@pomupom_did u start playing
He progressed quick because of time spent and focused on a goal. His goal being post something to social media meaning he had to learn a song for it. Goals seriously excell our progress just make sure it's only a little bit above your current skill and not way above so you can challenge yourself a bit
Best of luck! It might be discouraging but just make sure you play a bit daily, and have a practice routine
as someone who’s never touched a guitar in my life, this was really impressive! i’d love to see your progress so keep it up bro
sounds great !! keep playing what makes you happy ^^ it was cool to see the frets below 12 being used !!
i just got a guitar and ive been actually so afraid to fuck up and look stupid but this video is actually kind of motivating thank you mr richard
ive been playing sense 10 years old, and i remember getting so mad at not getting the right notes, great video ❤
This inspired me to finally pick up my guitar after weeks of giving it up, thanks richie ❤ keep posting!
did you just recently start playing?
heyas, its great youre picking up the electric guitar, cus it like makes you way hotter than you orignally were if you practice enough.
this was more progress my heinie could have conjured up in my first week, you definitely have a start for a musical intuition.
lots of pointers onto getting your sound just right, from a self taught goober of quite a while.
-relax yourself, unstiffen the picking hand and aim for the most comfortable position. the way you pick a string has way different sound for each variation, with the best being a smooth way.
-use your other strings, look into what notes are for each fret on each string, usually in a song notes are close to each other which are, which can be played on adjacent or other strings rather than sliding a lot. i can explain further if needed or it can be looked up.
use all those fretting fingers!! it helps with that versatility, do some exercises to get that skill of using those 4 fingers in no time.
-also, those fretting hands are strongest when you put your thumb above the neck, a condition where your thumb being below it is unlikely, except for some stupid hard chords
get that musical ear down, its way more rewarding to learn it yourself instead of using tabs and other resources and whatnot.
You're like one of my favorite pookie hot bbg content creators, and I would love to give you more pointers if necessary.
I play guitar for like 8 months now and i absolutely relete to the pain. Maybe the strings itself didn't hurt but playing chords felt horribly at the start plus, getting flustered when messing up notes is so unmotivating ( for me at least).
I'm so impressed with how much you've done thru one week tbh!
5:35 A Canon event for every guitarist
the feeling of any guitarist that sticks with guitar is like man I wish I would started when I was "insert extremely young age here" so the moral of the story is if you like guitar literally start right now, the present is the best time to start because if you fall in love with the instrument future you will be thankful you atleast didnt wait any longer
ive been playing for 2 years and im just now getting good at it and you learning that in just 7 days literally blows my mind
“That’s how you learn, you do stupid things.”
This, this is the line that truly hits. There’s a lot of people who don’t realize that the people who have mastered skills started by looking stupid at first.
I sometimes like to imagine a scenario where people make fun of a person for looking stupid on doing something yet after “looking stupid” consistently, eventually, it starts to show that they’ve truly honed their skills.
It’s a matter of acknowledging where you should really start and accept that you would look stupid.
as a guitar player for almost 10 years you did pretty well for 7 days
ahhhh brings me back to the good old days of me playing guitar as a beginner. this video shows how much u care about playing guitar its not an easy thing as u keep playing its gonna get harder and harder but u put all of effort to getting better so good job for u man
i know im a year late but im a beginner who's been playing for like a month inconsistently and getting too annoyed to practice lately, this definitely encourages me to keep going lmao. great content
I’ve been playing guitar since I was 11 or about 6 years but you are far better than me when I started cause I decided not to learn chords and go straight for tabs and I also have a teacher. I’d suggest trying to loosen up your arm cause it’s hard to pick when your arm is locked if you’re continuing to learn of course. And make sure to go out your comfort zone it’ll make a huge impact and keep playing man.
ive been teadhing myself guitar for about a couple months now, but since I only have around 20-ish minutes to play each day after school, I find myself playing songs i like instead of practicing techniques. watching your video and especially seeing your performance at the end (I'm not even at that level yet! :)) has helped me realize that i really should get on justinguitar a couple minutes a day to makesure I progress :)
Hey, man I've been playing guitar for about a year now and I can tell you I didn't learn chords for about a month, I've gotten a lot better now and I just want to say you're doing really good man keep it up, also it's normal to have pain in your fingers and it'll go away, your fingers will also be able to stretch further soon it just takes time good job
I'm learning right now and I am so happy to see I'm not the only one going through the stages of guitar grief
As someone who is 13 and has been playing guitar for seven years, i would recommend listening to green day's song "brain stew" which is only a few cords. Also, i would recommend fixing your right arm and shoulder positioning on the body of the guitar 😁. Also richard i would learn some basic scales such as A- pentatonic or E major. You can play these scales as a warm up for your fingers before playing other songs. Last thing, mad respect for getting that good is only a week! Your level of dedication is amazing and i hope you stay with guitar because you have all the traits of an amazing musician 😇
As a person who plays guitarrr for almost 6months already I am rly surprised because I didn't expect you to go that far in just 7 days. And your picking hand. At day 1 it was static and day 7 wrist was moving and all that shit so good work my man
This is how I started man. I sounded and looked exactly like you do now, and I eventually got decent enough to play confidently in public and at bars. Don't be afraid to fail, and don't be afraid of the guitar community. They will always put down people who are newer to the craft, like anything else in life it takes time.
Btw if you dont own a tuner, there are actually a lot of tuning apps on the apple app store, and your pc!
this is a fairly decent way to learn, i wouldn’t say it’s the best for everyone but it works well for those who have the passion to do it
Caught in 4k he did this when he was on his 7 day social media break. He showed him on UA-cam learning, also hope you have the best and I love your content, you are so inspiring to me, and you never fail to make me laugh
Ayo! this is low key motivating. got my first guitar recently, and was feeling the same kinda way. But hopefully i can drive threw the embarrassment, and leave abandonment behind.
I dont know why i didnt see this video before because fr this video made me want to start learning how to play guitar, i had a guitar for like 4 years now? and i barely touched it bc i always gave up easily, this kind of videos that you make about learning or improving something in 7 days really makes me want to not give up on things, if you say that you easily give uo on thing and you could do that, i guess i better try to do it too. Thank you
The fact that I’m on day one and I’m watching videos on what to learn too… I’m so glad I stubbed upon this gem of motivation.
Keep going with guitar, it sounds like this is the first thing that presents a proper challenge for you and that's a good thing. It will teach you how to be resilient and patient with learning.
I've been playing for six years (started at 6, now twelve), can play the whole for those about to rock AC/DC album, and can relate to the start of this video with all my heart, youve just got to push through this pain of learning and then you can play your favourite songs. Also found it hilarious how your first song was smoke on the water😂
You know you rylly practicing when you start threarning your guitar
Hell yeah man! youre always trying out things ive thought about doing/commiting to (cold showers, electric guitar) youre a massive inspiration keep that shit up ⬆💯
I've been playing for 20 years (I'm fuckin old) and can only applaud your efforts. Very well done! Your video is a great example of what happens if you practice deliberately and consistently
As someone learning guitar that hand position was soooo felt 😭
Im a Clarinet player, and when he started playing that one song i knew it was hard rock blues, a song i played just a couple of weeks ago for a band concert! seeing someone i love watching play it made me super happy! :))))
bro sounded like he's narrating a ford commercial at the end
but seriously, the amount of progress in a week is INSANE. keep rocking🤘🎸
Not bad bro, keep at it 🤘
this is exactly the motivation i need for this year, thanks so much
oh man i feel bad for he started doing bends. i remember my fingers had huge holes that was ripped skin on my finger tips when i started doing bends, but keep it up and your hand will be fully there my friend :)
Yeah but after the ripping skin part the skin on my finger tips got a lot darker and stronger they wouldn't get ripped nowp
been playing three years and uploadihg my first youtube video was scary as fuck, but there will always be more ppl supporting you than not. Good luck and have fun playing man!
I found your video on my recommended after i started learning scales. Dude you are awesome and motivated me to get my first scale down
wow this was legit just me when i started learning, keep going man, if you practice you can do it!
It's okay to fail, don't be afraid
For failure is just a stepping stone
To success, to happiness, to growth
You can overcome it, you're not alone
It's okay to stumble, to fall down
For in failure, there's a lesson learned
It teaches us to rise again
To be wiser, stronger, unconcerned
So don't fear the path of failure
Embrace it, for it's only temporary
You have the power to overcome
And emerge victorious, extraordinary
So lift your head, And know that failure is just a part
Of the journey to greatness
You'll overcome it, with a courageous heart.
Practice take time
hi there 2 year guitarist here. you are doing pretty well tbh! I will recommend you is too get down the basics firstly the chords. from like neatly is is to get a comfortable position for your hand. and maybe figure out your tone for your amp settings I will suggest is too search up your guitar idols and dont use your elbow for the entire thing. use your wrist. I would suggest when you did the three days number that's how I would recommend how to hold a pick. and move your finger up and down for vibrato. your gonna go far dude! good luck hopefully you continue with your guitar.
as a musician, this is really impressive, oh and by the way, put your right hand next to the guitar bridge when you pluck a string using a pick (pro tip)
Keep going bro we love you and this episode was amazing 13:08 💙✨
as someone who has been playing viola for a while and has wanted to learn guitar, this really motivated me to keep trying to be better. I love richie’s mindset in this video and he improved sm in 7 days!! I’ll support him on the guitar journey 🫶🏻🫶🏻
I've been playing for almost three years, I've been struggling with motivation to play because I've felt do crap. But you remind me of how far I've come. So thank you.
Doing stupid stuff is my favorite thing😂 I’m learning right now and I’m definitely trying to be good at it☺️
i relate to the end bro, i have music that i really wanna release but i always question if it sounds good or if id look stupid posting it LOL, but maybe posting it will make me better at music.
Him practicing chords: "My fingers are in pain"
Barre chords: im boutta ruin this man's whole career
as a person who plays guitar im proud of you, you're amazing in one week, keep it up and youll be the next SRV
As for someone who started to play accoustic guitar and learning by myself for about 3 months, i can relate to so many thing you did. It kinda feels good knowing im not the only one struggling
this only has 69k views?? this is one of the most entertaining videos i've seen, and as a beginner myself after getting one for christmas this motivates me so much and i relate to the dialogue throughout the video 😭 ty for this
just sent a message to my friends that play guitar saying I'm proud of them, richie always makes me appreciate things more
good progress, try using all the fingers and learn alternative pickung and incorporate hammer ons and pull offs, and it would sound way better, keep it up
So, how you doing, its been a year and you didnt post your progress. If you gave up, just know that guitar is something that can express when/rever you want, so? Just go for it. I know i probably know pretty much nothing about life since im not very old, but im starting to realize that everything that is being our habit, like staring at our phone almost every part of the day, makes us dumber. And thats when the guitar comes in, you sit and play whatever you feel like today, you can play clean rock in the rain or shred in the day because neighbors are sleeping in the night. I believe in you bro you got this just find your time and place and start it and even though that you probably wont always have the ambition it will start to be faster and faster until you are in place like i am. A year has passed since i picked up my Mom old guitar and i play to this day. Just have the ambition.
I play Guitar myself for over 4 years and its really impressive that you were so good i hope you keep going and a standard Stratocaster has some problems with the vibrato i suggest putting a wood block under bridge i think its called in english
MAn i literally started learning from only learning songs. its honestly the best way to learn in my opinion. it keeps you engaged because you're learning songs that you want to learn and once you get that sweet taste of victory. You'll want more.
for 7 days, this is honestly pretty good richie! (as a guitar player)
anyway tell justin i said hi
People who said you "didn't learn anything" are wrong... you learned lots of things. Chords are a very important part of guitar. Fire job bro!!!!!!
i know all the basic chords in 1 day but i cant play the d for shit. i cant seem to press the first and second string hard enough.
Man I can't wait to see you trying this on TikTok
I really love your work man
Just don't give up and I know that you are doing your best so just don't give up on this you really can do it
remember to train your pinky, man. definetly helps alot when playing songs. you can do finger exercises if you want but you can also try learning songs and implement the pinkies there. take your time with it man dont rush it, enjoy playing🙏🙏play what you wanna play
As an actual Guitarist of 8 years this was pretty funny to watch but this had more progression in this amount of time than when I started out. I can't wait for you to feel the pain of Barre Chords next lmao
I started learning a week ago and when you said "why the fuck is it THOINGOINGOIGN" is so real. That's me everytime I practice.
that's a great progress for 7 days!! hopefully you won't stop there and will continue playing!
ive been playing for 2 months and obviously its hard but each moment that i can audibly hear my progress and feel what was impossible at the beginning slowly become more attainable. people seem to think learning something is instant but for music its incredibly different and takes years
Thanks for this video man. I was really thinking I sucked and I watched this video and I feel way better. Appreciate it bro.
it’s always cool to see beginners learn
3:30 eating while watching youtube must be some unwritten universal law
Man as a victim of STEM I can attest that failure-for-many-many-hours is a very close friend of mine
"in what world does you hand make that shape" i busted out laughing
как же я люблю его. каждый раз, когда боюсь чего-то, переживаю или нет сил, его видео лечат
Nice, love how one of my first songs also was seven nation army and I even made a full cover in my channel. But over here I have to face like 100% guitar player comments 😅well done, don't stop!
11:31 this is exactly the OPPOSITE of what you should be doing. Failure is a good thing, like you said. It helps you learn from your mistakes and improve upon yourself and the things you want to be good at. To be good at something, you kind of have to fail, so you know what you did wrong and how to change it.
I’m trying to learn electric guitar myself and I’ve never seen a more relatable video
Watching new guitar players muting the strings and/or not pressing hard enough on the strings is the funniest thing ever
Keep up the good content brother.
Good choice with Justin as a tutorial!
