@@shanejonesfishing2479 gotcha. I wondered if it was for line visibility purposes. I use primarily 10 lb. braid and normally add a little split shot up 12 inches to help increase fall speed. Helps track the jig on the screen as well.

To get my 1/16 is jig down fast especially in the wind. Yesterday i had to stick my rod in the water to get it to fall
