Cheers for this, I have been researching "what are the measurable objectives?" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about - Ponlijah Memorable Preponderance - (do a search on google ) ? It is an awesome one off product for discovering how to maximize your life using a simple goal setting strategy minus the normal expense. Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my co-worker got excellent success with it.

I loved that video !! I just shared it on my blog with a few thoughts… Despite the fact that I use hypnotherapy on this topic daily (which is already a pretty deep and progressive way of fixing time-management issues), I received a great wake-up call / slap in the face from this video… It is much like what Jean-Paul Sartre says in his book “Existentialism Is a Humanism” : you are free to exist the way you want because no essence defines you. Which might be daunting if we are escaping our responsibility to “play our life the right way” (in the words of JPS), but if we fully accept that we can achieve anything we want, and take the control of our time, that becomes the most liberating thought ever.
Thanks and kudos to you, my kind sir.

I’m impressed about the approach this man took. When we talk about time management there’s usually the ‘tips to be more efficient’. But that’s not the point of time management. It’s not about being more efficient and producte, which will lead to stress and overworking, but embracing our freedom to choose what we want to do with our time, being able to understand that it is limited and that it is up to our own to judge where we want to spend it.
I am truly impressed. Never knew time had so much to do with philosophy. Well, philosophy is always there to question whether what we are doing is really what’s good for us.

EXACTLY, I enjoy reading and I was like "mabye I could make this a peaceful hobby my whole life" and I was like "is that productive though?" then I ignored the thought, I still read. Time management does not mean productive, and I was willing to take hobbies in my life and make one of those reading, I thought on the thought. Now I'm here and I think this is just like a confirmation, time management does NOT have to be work, and everything I do for fun does NOT HAVE TO BE PRODUCTIVE! Beautiful message, your comment helped me get more of a grasp on this talk.

This Ted talks is one of the most oye opening for me.
I used to manage my time to achieve my goals, but recently I've been asking to myself " is this the way how I actually want to spend my time?"
Now thanks to this video I have my answer.
I've missed the most important thing
I've spent most of my time to get to my goals instead of hanging out more with my friends, my family and my girlfrien or more simple giving my time to help others people.
I've forgotten the people around me.
    That's so sad.
Now I'm aware of this and I can change .
I hope you'll do the same my friend

I watched this ted talk when I was 18 back in 2019 and I didn't really catch the concept of it but I used it to write an essay about TIME but now 2021, I'm able to grasp most of what his saying because of the state I am in my life, it's always the simplest thing that pass our head but I have to admit he's right money isn't time. Time is Life and how you spend your time is actually how you spend your Life.
    Thanks for that

Don't be silly. Not being interested in anyone else's thoughts on the concept of time is the complete opposite of what he spoke about in the video and encouraged you to do. Also, being interested in the thoughts of many philosophers and people is how he came up he found these thoughts worth sharing in the first place.

Thank you time management is something I really struggle with, particularly with the field I am in and this was very helpful! Definitely on point having to make sacrifices and setting boundaries. I agree a lot of people associate making money with time which hurts my heart and creates an unhealthy work environment and people miss the true meaning behind doing something. Chasing money you will never be happy or satisfied.

I like this TED talk, thanks a lot.
I study in college, and I don't know how do I manage my time, my schedule is full, and I am so tired of it.
Usually I want to ask myself: What's the next thing to do?
But actually what really matters is: What is the next meaningful thing to do?
If I prefer to stay at home to do some relaxing activities, why don't I go outside and hang out with people?
If I really have courage, what can I do for change?
This is an important question the talker gave me: If you think time is precious, then do something really precious, because your time is precious.

I've always been bad with time management especially when my obligations and works starts to add up. I gave up in the way, I was procrastinating and I tried to make a lot of excuses saying I don't have time and we're gonna die anyways so why bother? But I know that wasn't, and always isn't the case. I had to break away from these excuses and free myself to use the time I have. At first, I was about to watch tips about how to "effectively" manage time, but I paused when I saw this and now it changed my whole view regarding time management. Thank you so much, for sharing this. ☺️

I didn't want the talk to end. This didn't even seem like 12mins, it felt like he's been talking for an hour but I didn't mind. Every word was pure brilliance.
When we lost our grandma in 2021, I began thinking of time as one of the most precious things in the world. Between work and family, I would "almost always" choose to spend my time with family. Work is replaceable, but lost time with the people I love, I can never get back.

  • @billmorrigan386
    @billmorrigan386 4 роки тому +6

Great video. Great points. One of my favorite expressions of late is this: People who do nothing don't have time (albeit they might simulate hectic work and activity). Indeed with all the modern technology we have plenty of time for everything: reading fiction, studying college textbooks (not even available in non-online bookstores), working out, watching movies and series, texting, commenting, hanging out with friends, and even traveling around the world (if the budget allows). Another problem, not addressed in this video, is that some people get stuck in their immediate circle (usu. family) so much that they can hardly break free from it. For me that's intolerable. You may work 12 hours a day but being unable to break free during off-work hours is intolerable to me! To cut to the chase, the less you do and the less you work, the less time you have, otherwise you are just deluding yourself. Indeed, it's only our great-great grandparents who didn't have time, not us with all the modern technology and amenities! On top of that, spending time inefficiently and procrastinating are two great enemies permeating everything!

So true that time is absolutely more valuable than money so I don't believe you can manage time because it will pass even if we do nothing or even if we somehow do all the things. So we shouldn't manage our time, we should manage our priorities. As professional project managers, we're taught to start with a fixed duration and deliverable, then reverse engineer the deliverable by allocating resources, while accounting for constraints and managing risk. That sounded like a LIFE PROJECT to me!! The end game is eternity with the Father. The middle game is my future on earth; and the now game is the financial freedom to live on purpose, with joy and without fear. Cheers to having our priorities straight!!

I am now asking myself about what do I value in life. I definitely value sleep. Most people around me don't. They see me as lazy because I do. I am wasting my time. What is so lazy about dreaming or not needing a coffee to function? It tastes bad and makes my hearth beat so fast. Next time they ask me, I will say that the life is best lived while awake. If they say that I will sleep when I die, I will ask them why they value their lives so little...

Is simple to manage the time. There are 4 kwadrant about time management : 1. Urgents & Critical (1st priority), 2. Urgents but less critical (2nd priority), 3. Less Urgents but Critical (3rd priority), and 4. Less Urgents and less critical (if you have more time). So simple....😊😊😂❤

You don't manage time; you harness it. And then, you make it work for you.

This is the best informative video I ever watched about time management. I have learned that if we wanna manage our time meaningfully we should embrace philosophy.

Brad Aeon's presentation was highly philosophical, and I like philosophy. His thesis of living a meaningful life while making choices and sacrifices while accepting the consequences of those to have more fulfillment was very germane to the topic of time management. However, I felt that it was weak on substance (actual techniques and methods) other than to have a philosophical conversation with yourself (which you should absolutely do).
