I appreciate you making a video review of this monitor it really has helped me decide to get it. I’ve been wanting to upgrade to a 1440p display for gaming, It’s been a struggle to find a UA-cam video regarding this particular one since it’s one that I’ve been looking at for a while besides the Samsung Q7 27”. I actually don’t mind the fact that it’s a VA monitor due to the fact that I have a 1080p 165Hz VA Lenovo at home now that I use for gaming. Although I’m a year late this good content so thanks again. Looking forward to more of your content.
lawl, m8, you're a year late? nah, so whats your review should I buy one? haha
@@takeiteasyeh it’s a decent monitor and I’d recommend it if you’re within a budget and still want high refresh rate monitor for gaming. I’ve upgraded to a bigger one since I uploaded this comment. But go for it if that’s what you’re wanting
Great video this answers all my questions thank you so much! You win a new subscriber
After reading comments about different monitors, I watched a couple of your reviews and it's really helped me decide on buying the MSI MAG27, incredibly detailed, clear and informative. Appreciate the research, thanks a lot! You have my subscription :)

Just found out about this channel as I was looking for a monitor to buy ( it will be my first one). Thank you very much for making this video as it was very informative and helped me decide which monitor may be for me. Keep it up!
thank you and glad to hear!
I absolutely love your studio setup. Can you go over the lighting set up you have there? Also, you convinced me to get the monitor!
lovely video review i actually own 3 of these in nvidia surround imo ur review was on the money !
Awesome review! Subbed. My Samsung 27' face planted on my desk while swapping HDMI's and the screen broke.
I bought this one today after watching your review and I'll be taping the base to my desk this time to avoid that tragity from happening again. Lol 😆
i just got mine today and i really enjoy it thank you for helping me decide to get this monitor i just need help to calibrate the colors

Wow very nice review, thanks
I love the accent and the reviews!
Great video! How would you compare this to the Gigabyte G32QC you also reviewed? Thanks
I just got the MAG272C but I'm sure what I'm about to say will probably be applicable to the QR as well. Don't be alarmed if the color scheme isnt the way you like it right out of the box or if it looks meh, you just gotta mess around with settings. For me doing some experimenting with Nvidia control panel and the monitor settings fixed it. Something called digital vibrance in Nvidia control panel made the biggest difference, I'm sure there's something similar for AMD GPU owners.
Nice monitor I love how big it is and hope you will get 100k soon like tomorrow lab u vids😍
thank you!

Comparing this monitor (mag272cqr) and the Asus TUF vg279qm, which one has the best image quality and the least backlight bleed?
Nice and important information about this monitor
I was wondering if what would be a better long term option between this and the aorus FI27Q-P? Kinda torn right now between this and the aorus monitor, im an msi fanboy but then i disregard my brand loving logic if there is a better one on the market. Any thoughts maam? Thank you in advance

I like that you mentioned desktop controlled settings, that's a big selling point!
Do you know how many Watts can the USB-C port provide? I wanna connect a macbook pro through thunderbolt 3 in the future and i wanna know if its gonna be enough to charge it as well
Excellent review as usual. I see comparisons with the Asus PG43UQ - can we expect to see a review of this soon?
Very soon :)
I'm upgrading to this from a 5 y/o 60hz curved samsung. SO excited. Thanks for the review.
im gonna change from a 27" inch 7 year old flat 60hz screen

@Techtesters
Any monitor reviews coming up with HDMI 2.1 or DisplayPort 2.0?
I haven't gotten any with that just yet. 4K / 144Hz with DSC over DP 1.4 coming though :)
This monitor completely sold out in all shops around my area as people are working from home. Ended up with a MSI 32inch curved because only stock item left.
Wow, did not expect to become such a huge fan of the channel from just one video review! Great job!
But now I'm in a big big dilemma over 3 monitors: this one, the LG 27GL850 and the ASUS PG279Q. This one being the only VA option. Are IPS panels so much better than VA color-wise? Also, gaming mainly in a dark-ish room, would the VA perform better than an IPS? Damn, choices!
Thank you! Tbh at that point it's mostly a subjective choice between three (very) good monitors. Pg279q is generally a lot more expensive though right?
@@TechTesters It is indeed, I was considering scouting amazon marketplace for a good deal! But honestly it doesn't seem like a huge difference from the others ,maybe its pricing is a bit unjustified. I'm from Italy and here it sells for around 900 euros. Will decide in the next days and let you know! Keep up the awesome job :)
Thank you and good luck! Whichever you pick, it'll be good :) (unless you get unlucky with massive blb, 😉)
Does the “Gaming OSD” sw starts with Windows now? Last version didn’t, even when it was enabled in its settings.
EDIT: Also, in last version, changing brightness with keyboard shortcuts was incredibly slow, because I could change it only by 1% at a time. Was this improved?
I like the monitor. But was considering buying the Alienware aw2518h 240hz but after watching your review this monitor seems to have a better panel. Gonna get this MSI now. Thanks
Welcome :) Will see if i can grab the aw2518h at some point too!

hi can you pls do a review on MSI Optix AG32CV
Great review!
I saw that you had a part with Horizon Zero Dawn. May I know if this monitor supports 4k downscaling to 1440p via HDMI 2.0 when connected to a PS4 Pro? I recently ordered this and it's expected to arrive next week or so.
Hi there 👋 if have the PS4 pro options for the resolution to "automatic" I think optimize automatically the resolution depends the monitor you use.
I want to buy a 4k 27 inches monitor any update from your buy I will be grateful!!
Los tre Lokos sorry just saw this. I got the monitor but my ps4 pro only detects it for 1080p. I sold that monitor and just be getting a 4k monitor so that I no longer have to play the guessing game on which monitors support 4k downscaling
Nice review! I'm wondering if you'll be reviewing the AOC CU34G2X in the future?
I hope so! But AOC units have been scarce here :(
@@TechTesters indeed, I'm from the Netherlands too and I have been looking for it for a while but no webshop has it in stock. They even don't know an expected delivery date. And good quality reviews are scarce too, so I hope you will receive an unit to review soon 😎
How do you feel about the optix mag 322 cqr.
How about 272qr ? Are they very different? My friends said curved screen is usually worse in color than flat and I prefer to use flat at 27 inches
Do you have vidoe for msi 32 inch ? And it’s worth to buy for gaming?
How’s it going m8! I just purchased a monitor similar to this! The MSI MAG270 CR it’s a 27”1080p 165hz monitor with 1ms response time but it’s a VA panel!!! Did I make a mistake getting the VA and not IPS? Please help thank you 🙏
I have the 32 inch 180HZ version and I absolutely love this monitor ! Love it !
Hey is this monitor G Sync compatible?
@ΞΙΖΖ freesync is for AMD

hi. i often watch you videos and wanna tell you that you are doing an amazing job. i wanted to ask you if you could do a review of ViewSonic Elite XG270QG. or maybe just let me know if its worth buying. thank you.
Hey! I have the XG270 from Viewsonic coming up very soon (this week.. I hope). Maybe I can get my hands on a QC after. Unfortunately I haven't compared it yet so I can't tell you.
The QC is basically the g-sync version of the LG 27gl850, if that says anything. If not then me saying it didn't do much good. :) both of which are hard to find but they sound like decent monitors.
im thinking about buying this but my current monitor is 240hz and 1080p will i notice a big difference going from 240hz down to 165hz??
Iv heard that this monitor has ghosting. Is it that bad when playing games. (i also do editing) Is the ghosting very visible or is it just a tiny ghost for like 0.3 ms?
loved your review ! do you recommend this model or Aorus CV27Q ?
Thanks! I guess it depend on the price though? I'd probably take the cheapest one as they aren't that different iirc. I would look at the M27Q as well personally, it's usually cheap and I prefer the overall image quality of IPS.
Just received this monitor yesterday but it kind of looks like there is a haze over the screen or maybe the colors are slightly washed out. Could you tell me what calibrations you used or switched to for the best picture?
Did you find a good calibration setting in the end? I’ve just got it and having the same issue! Any help much appreciated!
Nice review!/monitor! My next pc monitor will be a TV :D .. The upcoming LG CX OLED 48".. 120Hz/1440p or 4K, Freesync/Gsync/VRR from hdmi 2.1 but 2.0 too(that's the big difference with current LG C9), low latency HDR (rumors saying 1000nits)!! Pls review it if you can!!! :D
Prob is upon release will be expensive so will wait till September-October (30-40% discount).
Atm I have a 32" VA OMEN 1440p 75Hz freesync, ain't bad but I need a good monitor for 4k Netflix too :D.
I'm definitely going to try and grab one asap ;)
Well I just bought this after christmas so this seems promising
How do you like it so far?
in many reviews said that it has no displayport cable inside
i just bought it and waiting for the monitor to arive
can you tell if it has i displayport cable inside
Good review. I got the 32 ´of this monitor on Prime day. Im no expert but I am happy with my buy. It doesnt swival is the only downside. I can just turn it by the feet so no biggie.
If you're happy, that's all that matters :D
Passed this monitor up for a Lenovo 27" 1440p 165hz IPS.
I can buy Msi and Lg 27gl83a for the same price. What would be the better option?
With the height adjustment in its lowest position what would be the total height?
It's time to retire my old 60Hz 1080P monitor now that I have a new PC that can deliver more. My entire system is MSI and I've been looking at this monitor because my OCD says to match the parts. Thanks for the review. I will be getting one of these as soon as I can find one that's in stock for a decent price. The few I have found are in the $450-$500 range now so I'm waiting and hoping the prices drop back down.
450-500 gets you some serious IPS options, and 300-350 gets you some good VA options. So yeah, I think the price needs to drop a bit :)
What’s the difference between the MAG272CR and MAG272CQR?
What about the 34inch one MSI Optix MAG342CQR??? Any suggestions on this one?
Hey recently bought it but I have 1 tiny issue..It keeps showing 165 on the top left of the screen ...Any help?
you can control the sharpness of this monitor from the monitor?
Thanks for the review. Just bought one from Costco for $169
Nice price tbh. Enjoy!
I'm gonna buy this to play osrs on. Let's go!
I love how she reviews tech like a normal user, doesnt emphasize on paper spec, she said "You dont need a curve on a 27 inch" and thats FACTS! Love it
how do you get the leds to work on the back? i cant find out how to do it. can some one help me?
I actually prefer VA panels because of the minimal backlight bleed and superior contrast, and good VA panels these days are rivalling IPS in colour production
VA is terrible for gaming, they ALL have inverse ghosting, rubbish panels for gaming.
You should really compare this to the MSI MAG272QP or QR, because they use different panels and a lot of us actually prefers flat monitors, probably obvious though considering all the comments below :) Great videos btw
Id love to but I didn't see it yet.
Given the Samsung Odyssey G7 vs this model what would you choose?
Need some advice: So I have the Mag271cqr version, I’m assuming this is the newer model of my panel? Not sure. Anyway, would it be worth upgrading to this panel due to wanting the HDR and being just slightly faster (144hz vs 165hz)?. I am currently playing on a Xbox one x and will be getting new series X this holiday season. Thanks to anyone who answers.

Hi So what CPU/GPU would you need to play fortnite on medium/high settings 165 FPS 1440p? is my ryzen 2700x/1070 strix oc enough?
I don't use fortnite in my testing, so I don't know exactly what you'll need for 165fps/1440p
And what about the 10 bit colors? (8 bit + 2 FRC)
Is what what you wore reffering to about HDR?
No that really doesn't matter here.
can you connect usb c with macbook pro while supporting energy?
Should I get this or the Asus TUF VG27AQ? I can't decide between both and MSI has the advantage of being a curved monitor.
I just got the VG27AQ I think, need to double check! I'm not sure curved is an advantage though, at 27"?
Im upgrading from a Acer RT270 60hz 1080p 4ms i cannot wait!

Is this virtually the same as the Optix MAG272QR?
In relation to the colors at least
I don't know, if it's a different panel it could be very different. Can't say unless I see the monitor first.

Can a HP envy7 laptop run this monitor sized 32inches?
This monitor is very delicate... I had problems with warranty after an internal crack screen because of an earthquake that I didn't even feel
did they give you a new one?
Good review, very accurate, I am considering whether to take it. I'm undecided between this and a lg27gl83a ips! I accept advice, compliment beautiful woman and very competent!
I looked up that model and it is not available curved for 27 inches.
Which one did you end up getting
wich is better this screen or the MSI Optix MAG301RF
@Techtesters Look at a question I use a 3070 graphics card, do you think this monitor will help me to take advantage of it? I say it because I can't get more than 600 dollars for a luxury monitor, do you think that I would be fine with that?
get a g sync monitor
What is the purpose of the one cable like upstream written connector?
So I guess the 400,- question is: how fast are the response times? How many overdrive settings does it have? What's the overshoot at the "ideal" overdrive and is it fast enough to keep all of it's transitions within the refresh window of 165 hz? Many manufacturers claim "fast" response times, but most often that's just marketing talk with terrible overshoot in an unusable overdrive setting nobody would ever use. Glad to see monitor reviews on the channel though, hope you will cover some of the most popular gaming monitors like the LG 27GL850 and the LG 32GK650F soon!
Many channels reviewed the 850. That's why i bought it. Except for its contrast, it is a spectacular monitor. Even the 'faster' mode doesn't really overshoot that much on my panel. (Could be different on others of course)
@@hoihallo2904 Yeah I know, I bought one last december. Since it's such a popular monitor I would have expected a review of it by now. Or at least it's scores shown in the comparison's graphs. Same goes for the 32GK650F for the VA option. Graphs don't say much when popular models aren't included for direct comparison. And I would just love to see Techtesters reviews on them, as it's becoming one of my favourite channels.
Hi, great review, does it work well with NVIDIA G-Sync?
Thanks! Didn't I talk about it in the video? Otherwise I need to recheck my notes.
Yes, it does. Just turn on FreeSync, then go to your Nvidia Settings and choose the G-sync menu and activate it - works like a charm.

This looks like a good monitor, it's between this and the Dell S3220DGF - Anyone know which one is best?
Dear Techtesters, and Nada in particular: Thanks for this nice review of this nice monitor... :)
Now the choices for me to get a new 27" 1440p gaming monitor (step up for one of my 2 Dell U2515H monitors) have become a bit more difficult...
As you say (and other reviewers too) it is indeed a surprisingly good monitor, even so for the VA panel it uses... Even if its curved - I am not so into curved, but maybe I am wrong...
I guess the sibling model Optix MAG272QR - is flat but is not entirely the same or am I wrong ???
I am trying to decide between these models for my birthday next week (April 30 lol) - a present to myself - who knows ?

@@christianp.sakalis2300 I'll say I recently purchased the LG 27GL83A (very similar to GL850) and the IPS glow and BLB made me return it. Now I'm heavily considering the MAG272QR , which is the flat version of the monitor in this video.
The flat one is probably a different panel so it could go either way: as good, better even, or worse.
I haven't seen the XG270QG yet (the XG270 is awesome though), nor the VG27AQ. I do love the FI27Q/FI27Q-P. If that one is not too expensive, I'd grab one :)
@@TechTesters Thank you for your reply.. Yes the FI27Q-P is a good contender, although the price here for me (here in NL) is a bit still too high... But okay I will see what happens in next few weeks or months.
i love MSI because the monitors they make have this anti eye thing so my eyes wont hurt from being in the sun light all day or just waking up with my eyes hurting for no reason at all.
Question what cable should I use for the type-C display output ?
I'm not sure actually, I don't really connect my laptop to desktop displays much :)
What is the difference to the MSI g27cq4p?
Should I get this monitor for my Xbox series x?
How can I adjust the height of the monitor ?
What is your weigh-in on this vs the flat version? (MAG272QR)
Can't judge, don't know if the panel performs the same (in which case it'd be great), or much better/worse, etc.
The flat one has ghosting for sure and I am not talking about UFO test. You can see it while browsing a page with dark background. I don't know if reviewer here got time to test that with this panel but it is very prominent in the flat version. Also note that the curved panel is from Samsung but the flat one is not (per MSI website).
@@adityav7920 Ahhhh. I see now. Hrm, prolly a safer bet for curved then.
I'm really thinking of buying this. Should I, is it worth it? Please tell me.
It's a nice screen, but it all depends on what it costs / your alternatives in your region :)
