Replaced a damaged screen on my V20 using the steps in this video. I wish more step-by-step tutorials on youtube followed this format. Quick, accurate and concise. Other presenters should learn from this video. Well done.
I could replace my wife's broken LG V20 screen step by step following this video. The instructions are precise and was very helpful. Thank you very much for posting. After the screen replacement, the phone works perfect.
The only part that was missing from this video is how to actually remove the damaged screen of the smartphone. Otherwise, it's a great step-by-step video and my LG-H918 V20 smartphone screen replacement was successful. Thank you for taking the time to make a video like that is saving users a few hundred bucks... KEEP UP THE OUTSTANDING WORK!
Great video... easy to follow the step-by-step instructions... successfully changed out a cracked screen and saved a hundred dollars by buying a replacement screen and doing this myself. The only thing I can add is a word of caution on removing the "earpiece speaker"... mine came out in two pieces... I accidentally only pried off the top piece... I just pushed back in the thin wires connecting the top and bottom pieces and pressed the two pieces back together... luckily the speaker works just fine after reassembly. Thanks much!
My wife broke the screen on her phone, it had all her contacts and other important information on it. i was able to repair the phone with this video and retrieve the info for her new phone. this was a very easy video to follow and i am grateful for it being available!
I might be a bit late to the party but I still want to thank you for your excellent tutorial. I found the instructions easy to follow because you explained and demonstrated at the very same time, which is very helpful for newbie like me.
Thank you so much for taking time to make this video. Just minor comment for others. It seems that all of my 21 screws are the same side. So, it was a bit easier for me. I did run into a problem after replacing the screen when I tried to power up the LG V20. It didn't power up. So, I just go back to the procedure to check for all the cables. Sure enough, one was not fully connected. After that, it powered up. Also, for future references, you may want to power up first before putting all of the screws in just to make sure that the phone can be powered up without any issue. Again, THANKS for posting this.
Thank you so much for doing these incredibly detailed instuctional videos. Your presentations are by far the best on UA-cam. Following this step by step guilded us to a perfect repair and we're truly grateful. Thank you.
Hey SER, I've got a few phone related questions I could use your expertise on. I have a lg g3 that has worked fine the whole time I've owned it, but recently it gave me "the blue screen of death" and now now nothing will work. I think it's related to the logic board but I could be wrong. Second question: if it is related to the logic board could I buy a broken lg g3 and take the logic board out of it? It's hard to find a logic board by itself. Thank you for your time, God bless.
+Martin Grey Yes so it sounds to me like the LG G3 has that issue it's a very common issue. I've heard some people say that putting it in the oven and heating it up to a certain temp helps. I have never done that maybe you can research that and decide if you want to try that. If not yes you could buy a phone and put with the logic board out of that and put it in your phone. If you do that just make sure that it works with your wireless carrier and has a clean to activate serial etc. since all that is contained on the logic board.
Make sure you put fresh CPU heatsink paste back on between the motherboard and display where the CPU is or enjoy having a slooowwwwwww V20 afterwards. Learned this lesson after replacing my display for the second time
Smart Easy DIY Yeah the first thing I noticed was it progressively got slower after the first time I replaced the screen I just put it down to age, then when I broke and replaced that screen I noticed a flaky dry circle of heat conducting paste peeling off the CPU. So I cleaned all that off, reapplied plenty of fresh paste, put it back together and it's been quick as I ever remember it being since.
I was able to fix my phone because of this video. Thank you so much for posting. Best step by step video out there.
Wow thanks so much I appreciate that. Great job on your repair!

Excellent video. The best I have seen regarding the V20, and gets into the little would-be gotchas that other videos either skipped or glossed over.
+tinmania Thanks I appreciate it. I’m glad it was helpful. 😊

Thank you I repaired my phone after watching this.
Awesome! 👍
Are the replacement screens the same quality as the OEM screen? Visually when the phone is on I mean.
+Paranoid Zombie if you get OEM quality They should be really close.
I broke the headphone jack. Anyone know that metal piece by the front camera to the right? Lost it.
My screen is lifting from both sides, I still replace it?
Yes unless you want to try putting double sided adhesive on it.
@SmartEasyDIYer I think I'm just gonna change the screen , this is getting old 8 years I had the phone
Yeah that’s a long time!
does new screens no longer have image retention issues?
+Nico The Tiger As far as I know it shouldn't.
Thanks 2nd time fixing this phone
You’re welcome! Sounds like you’ve had it a while.
Yeah just had it collecting dust time to fix it to put it up for sale I just love fixing things that are broken
I'm having problem with my down brightness

Wow interesting. Has it gotten better since?

I mean it got horrendously slow... presumably the CPU slows down to protect itself from over heating???
Wow that’s awesome!
Yeah that may be the case.
