there is nothing, nothing better than a vintage bike. i always remember fondly my uncles 1972 triumph bonville 750. beautiful. i have no quarms updating a vintage with modern equipment. these are made to be ridden, not kept in a garage
Love the minimalist look of this bike. So many others claim to be minimalist but this to my eye looks the most genuinely honest bobber I've seen. As engineers of old used to say "it just LOOKS right"
Memories here, too...mine was a 1966 500cc twin, single carb. Torque was astonishing; first time I wound it up, dropped the clutch, it almost went out from under me. Straight pipes, the sound was just like this one in the video.
This is the best looking and beautiful sounding hardtail Triumph Bobber on UA-cam, I end up coming back again and again just to view and hear it. Annelise (as well as her black jacket) is nice viewing too. 5*
Classic! Beautiful build, takes me back to the 70's. My first big bike, 1968 Triumph Tiger 650, 10 inch over tubes on the front end and short struts on the rear. Way cool, but probably the beginning of my back problems!
Beautiful lines, very stylish no nonsense raw British bike, sounds great and love the build and choice of paint. Thanks for an enjoyable well presented video
Simplicity at it's best ! and yet it is so beautifful. I've had many types of motorcycles so far and somehow always go back to a Bobber. Such rad things !!
They are around, just need to look. My brother swapped mine while I was deployed overseas back in the '80s... after he wrecked it. Still riding the '80 I got to replace it. So you never know what unbelievable deals you may find looking around barn sales.
Ah, that sound brings back memories. I had a ‘56 T110, the 650cc big brother. They’re a beautiful engine, lovely sound. I like the little oil pressure indicator that’s in the timing case that extends out about half an inch when the engine fires up and the oil flows. Pity you don’t have the original shape tank from the mid-50s, it’s one of Triumph’s prettiest. Nice bike.
Had a Tiger when I was a teenager;it was a nice little bike ;not real fast , but holy cow, look at the size of that rear sprocket ! I'm sure its quick enough now, but doubt it would top out much over sixty like that, wound out to beat the band.(mine geared normal hit the upper nineties)
I’m gonna be alone in this opinion, but I actually like the merging of the old and the new. If it’s done well, which is definitely the case here. It’s a very sharp-looking bike. I love pre-unit Trumpets, as well, and the tear-down and rebuild should give this one a fresh lease on life. I’m not a purist in any sense, but I respect those who are. I’d have built something similar without doing anything permanent to the engine and transmission. If her tastes change later, she can still do a very nice restoration with that power train.
I had a 67 T-100 when I was in high school. It had been used for moto-cross until 2 strokes took over the sport. I used it as a rider. It had scrambler pipes. It had a blue and white tank. I loved that bike. I went in the military and couldn't afford to keep it. I wish I had it back today.
Love the look and sound of your T-100 Bobber. Great job! I owned a late ‘50’s T-110 Bonneville during college in the early ‘60’s. It was set up as a dirt dragster before I bought it from a friend...it had a chopped rear fender with knobby rear tire, single seat, no front fender, no head light or tail light, 650 cc engine with racing cam and straight pipes, twin ported venturi carbs, deep black color painted frame and tear drop gas tank. I just added lights and a double seat and enjoyed every minute of owning and riding it...except for kick starting it wearing slippery tennis shoes on cold icy mornings...ouch!!! Wish I still had it.
I love what's been done to your bike Annelise, I'm very interested to find out more about all the electrics. I'm 69 years young and I'd like to do something similar to my 1970 T100R Triumph.
OMG ! I'm Dying !. One awesome Pre Unit. I had a 56 that was set up the same way but not even close to as nice as this one. I got mine as an old 60's chopper. I bobbed the springer front end and put a 21" wheel on the front. You can bolt on hard tails and can go back to the swing arm later if ya want.
@@PrimoStracciatella They dampen a bit, but they do not rebound or absorb bumps like a standard suspension. If you have any kind of back issues, and want to be stoved up for a month, buy a rigid. I had back surgery when I was 21 I struggle with a Sportster suspension for long rides. Rigid frames are forever off the table for me.. It's like I tell new riders, if you're 100 pounds, and ride 5 miles a day, a rigid is perfect.
@@nowthisis2stupid You're right in saying that those springs are not as effective as rear shocks but they work surprisingly well. If you have any back issues do Hot Yoga! I worked in a hotel for many years and carried tons of luggage. Went to several doctors but they had no permanent remedies for my lower back and elbow joints. Hot Yoga fixed it within a couple of months, improved my entire body, I can only recommend it. :)
Another actual build, and a nice one at that! Clean, simple lines, made for riding, not just display! A few more of these actual builds, that don't involve bolting a bunch of aftermarket parts onto a Harley-Davidson oh, and I might consider subscribing to this channel again. But I have to say, my confidence was shattered, and I really need to see you people feature actual bike builds and actual people.
Best T100 bobber I’ve seen! Ive always wanted to chop my 68 T100C but it feels like sacrilege. Nice job. I’d def be smiling at you if I saw you motoring around town!
The build was very well executed. I'm personally not a fan of all black paint jobs. Maybe it comes from the lowrider culture I grew up in. The tank and that oil bag are prime spots for custom graphics or art. That being said, I really appreciate that you took your time selecting the proper shade of black w the right amount of flake for your taste and didn't just throw a dart at a bunch of paint samples. Not all paints are created equal.
Tasty! 4:42 Those Triumph side stands eh. After leaving the chip shop at St Mary`s Hill Stamford, forking off down past the Golden Fleece c1980, my mate shot off on his `60s export Bonnie with me checking out his lines on my `76 Guzzi factory proddy racer. First left-hander by The London Inn, he veered across the road smack into the front of a Ford Granny. Broken foot and a rather dented Trumpet for me to repair. No such probs with side stands on my Guzzis, they popped back on their own accord. Caught a mate out on his MK1, he dropped it in a filling station forecourt....
If you read this "probably wont" but would like to share my input and opinion on what i think of it. What a mean looking bike!! Ammmmmazing job done well, i love the look. Fantastic job. Ride safe!! edit-speaking here form the United States.
Love the look of the bike really nice 👍, well done simple in design, simple to work on Brilliant, minimal the way to go . Really nice note out of the engine .
Really simple clean looking bike, nicely done. The only thing I would change would be to move the front indicators so they double up as headlamp mounts (if that is possible)
Triumph is nice bike. My uncle had one and I think it was a late 50s or early 60s. It was parked up and I used to play next to it as a little child. I asked him what he did with it but he does not know where It ended up. I loved that bike and time and again I would dream I'm riding it - even though I don't know how to ride - but always wanted to learn ....
Had several triumphs when I was young. Nothing sounds better than triumphs with open megaphones. I would buy another one just for the sound. No one where I lives gives a shit about the noise.
Had a 57 pan head rigid chopper, a trick in those days was to run the rear wheel a little under inflated this was a bit of help with a king and queen seat.
I personally don’t understand hardtails on crappy Brit rds, can see the seat has springs but as a minimalist bike it is nice 👍 and well thought out cheers Shane uk 🇬🇧
"...sounds pretty good..." he says ... understatement of the year right there !!! The bloody thing sounds phenomenal !
I was just goi g to write the Sam’s thing...ha.”sounds pretty good”
Nothing beats that sound!

Am I the only one who listened to the last minute on repeat for days? 😅 holy wow that bike sounds incredible
Love the details - the fire-extinguisher oil tank/ battery box, the switch panel, the curved saddle springs, the sympathetic modern bits. Sweet build.
That’s the coolest bike I have seen on Bike Shed!
Memories here, too...mine was a 1966 500cc twin, single carb. Torque was astonishing; first time I wound it up, dropped the clutch, it almost went out from under me. Straight pipes, the sound was just like this one in the video.

There's just something about a twin Triumph in it's exhaust tone. It simply breathes!

This is one sweet bike. Great build, and I bet it’s fun to whip around the streets on.
Great sound, great in the city real head turner, love the oil tank.
Love the way it sounds cant beat these old brit bikes for sound 🥰😎👍
Cool! My type of build...wish I could find a donor bike like that and had the where-with-all to cut it around....great vid!
We fuhked em all up in the 60's and 70's. Sorry none left

This is what I am talking about dudes! I can feel the gasoline smell and the passion involved! Congrats!
Now that’s beautiful. The bike is nice too. Seriously though, how much does a build like that cost? Would love to have a bike like that.

That engine sounds like a beast!
To me that is the perfect ride ,combination of the old and new
Nice to see that the good old bikes live on.
Gorgeous build, excellent choices Miss!
@80% Agreed.. Gorgeous build
That is one sweet bike 👍. Gives me some ideas for my next build.
I love this thing. Not my usual style (cafe) but it’s totally beautiful! I’d love to do something like this next. Top work!

It's a beautiful looking bobber motorcycle.
Beautiful note
Luv the Bike , my first bike was a 1960 tiger cub twin 500 now a bonne have always been trumpy since 1968 to now and in the future
Makes my spine hurt just looking at it.
I am a big bopper fan!but got a bad back!it looks like it would let me drive 20 miles and then I had to get jumping off screaming with back pain!
A real kidney shaker.
