West Midlands Metro: Lunchtime runout at Wednesbury Parkway on Sunday 20th August 2023

On Sunday 20th August 2023, there were no trams running on West Midlands Metro during the morning so that urgent electrical upgrades could be completed prior to operation along the Wolverhampton Railway Station extension.
Just after 11:30am, the first trams appeared at Wednesbury Parkway leaving the depot for their first runs.
The order of runout was as follows:
First out was 42AD leaving depot into Platform 3 before reversing to Edgbaston Village crossing onto the mainline.
50 was next coming out of depot into Platform 3 before reversing and running "bang line" as far as Wednesbury Great Western Street whence it returned to Wolverhampton St.George's.
39 emerged from the depot into Platform 3 and then reversed to run to Edgbaston Village.
40 ran out into Platform 3 then carried on to Wolverhampton St.George's.
43 appeared and ran into Platform 3 before reversing to Edgbaston Village,
Up next was 47 which ran via Platform 3 to Wolverhampton St.George's.
44 was next running through Platform 3 to Wolverhampton St.George's.
50 was the first tram to return from Wolverhampton but did not get very far before it turned round and returned to depot (see later).
45AD emerged from the depot into Platform 3 then continued to Wolverhampton St.George's.
40 ran through from Wolverhampton to Edgbaston Village.
28 made it out of depot next to Platform 3 before reversing and running "bang line" to Wednesbury Great Western Street.
47 ran through from Wolverhampton to Edgabston Village.
28 then arrived from Great Western Street running to Wolverhampton St.George's.
34 was next out running via Platform 3 to Wolverhampton St.George's.
44 ran through from Wolverhampton to Edgbaston Village followed by 45AD.
50 then arrived "Not in service" entering Platform 3 before reversing into Wednesbury depot. (Apparently, someone had been sick on the seats and it returned to be cleaned). It was not immediately replaced so that the crew could mealbreak.
42AD ran through from Edgbaston Village towards Wolverhampton St.George's follwed by 39.
28 then 34 ran through from Wolverhampton to Edgbaston Village.
43 ran through from Edgbaston Village to Wolverhampton St.George's.
Once the crew's mealbreak had taken place, 48 emerged from the depot into Platform 3 to run to Wolverhampton St.George's (replacing 50).
42AD ran through from Wolverhampton and the cycle was now complete.
So, in total we saw:
CAF Urbos 3: 28 34
CAF Urbos 100: 39 40 42AD 43 44 45AD 47 50 - replaced with 48.

I believe you went to Wednesbury Parkway, Michael and I believe trams were back up and running by 12 pm
Just to let you know, I probably won’t see you tomorrow Tuesday or Wednesday i’m going to Devon Plymouth to spend a UK holiday for three nights there, so just let me know when you’re next back in the Midlands next in September

They started coming out at 11:34. Got them all. 50 came out but had to come back because someone was sick on the seats. It was replaced with 48. The full list of trams out was: 28 34 39 40 42AD 43 44 45AD 47 50... replaced with 48.
