    Great video, nice find at Handsworth Booth street, there is also a old Victorian gents toilets outside the Jewellery Quarter train station too. You can still see the old disused metro stop in Snow Hill station.

      Thanks. I was pleased to spot the Gents at Handsworth Booth Street and will have a look at Jewellery Quarter next time I'm in Birmingham

    It could do with being a bit quicker, it takes about an hour between Birmingham and wolverhampton, the train takes 15 minutes.

    Having travelled on. The metro for 19 years from West Brom to Halfords Lane have you noticed the grey bricks at Halfords lane,there are. Rows of reddish bricks along the wall and the design on each brick denotes a shape of a leaf eg, palmate amongst others

      Thanks for letting me know about the bricks, much appreciated. Something for me to investigate as there will be a follow-up part two of facts and secrets on the West Midlands Metro

    Those benches are designed like that to prevent people sleeping on them.

      I can see how these benches would make rough sleeping difficult. I do like the design of them

    You forgot to mention the abandoned Birmingham Snow Hill tram terminus

      Thanks for mentioning this. I've now got footage of abandoned platforms at Snow Hill which I'll include in my next facts and secrets video

    I think The Royal could be added to the least used tram stop list!

      @chriswithhiscamera2454  Рік тому +1

      Very valid point and you may be correct. When I was chatting to someone about the least used stop we didn't mention The Royal but I can see how it could be the least used due to the location

    The extension to Wolverhampton rail station is late, late, late for no known reason. The Camp Hill circle line in Birmingham wll probably be just as delayed.

      Hopefully, the Wolverhampton extension will be open sometime during this Spring

      There is no Camp Hill Circle line planned for the Midland Metro!!, the Camp hill Line is for heavy rail passenger services and is well into the planning stages as all that is required are new stations and signalling upgrades

    St chads stop is NOT a renaming of Snow Hill wher it used to terminate, its a new stop in near by , for passemnger requiring the Snow hil train station they are best alighting at Bull street Tram stop

      You're are misaken, it was indeed for at least 12 months called "Birmingham Snow Hill" when the Birmingham extension was opened being named after the former terminus this is to due to plans of it being a connection to the station like the former station, however the connection has yet to be completed. So they changed the name to "St Chad's" being named after the landmark St Chad's Cathedral. (this is information that was given to me directly from staff at West Midlands Metro!)

    Was it that the station name changed or was it that the line used to run into Snow Hill Stn but later was extended into the city center?

    • @chriswithhiscamera2454
      @chriswithhiscamera2454  Рік тому

      When services ceased to terminate at Snow Hill Platform 4, the replacement station that is now St Chad's was initially called Snow Hill before being renamed

    What is with UK trams all having zones? It makes me really appreciate our flat fares we have in the US. (See my tram videos in my Channel!)

      I may be wrong about this this. I think zones started on the London Underground and the isea has been replicated in other city of the UK. I'm sure it saves having to price up each combination of two stations
