Yep, not only Matthew Lillard, who plays Shaggy in the live-action Scooby-Doo movie was in the first Scream, but at 18:43 is Sarah Michelle Gellar who plays the live-action Daphne. And to go further down this rabbit hole, Sarah Michelle Gellar would go on to star in a Scream knockoff (done by the same screenwriter as Scream) called 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' where she'll meet Freddie Prinze Jr. her future husband/the live-action actor of Fred.

You have to keep in mind, Scream came out at a time when slasher movies were dying out. Being meta was its whole goal. It was as much a celebration as it was a deconstruction of the genre by pointing out the cliches and subverting the audience's expectations in, at the time, clever ways. Its rather ironic tho that, after the 3rd movie, the franchise arguibly became everything it tried to parody.
@@AmericanBrit9834 honestly, none of the Scream movies are bad per say, least as far as I remember, with the original standing proud as arguibly the best to this day. Personally tho, I give Scream 3 a pass since it gives us the *true* origins of Ghostface and provides, unfortunately, still relevant commentary on how corrupt show business, Hollywood brass in particular, can be. And more importantly on how the abusers of such a system can start domino effects that result in *genuine monsters* Its got its problems but, like Scream 4, it gets more hate than it deserves.
