I believe that hole is for an added "place a pin in here" for added hand protection. Artisan Cutlery has also done that on a couple of their models.

I thought that might be the case, but when the knife is open there is no perfect fit for a pin. The knife would have to start to close by maybe a 1/4th of an inch before it would hit a pin in that hole. Just seems strange to me. Thanks for watching and commenting Mitch! I enjoy your channel so keep up the good work.

The custom was made with that for be able to stick a stick or something in there if you think the tri-ad lock might fail he left the holes in there not sure if anyone every uses it you could jam a stick in there in the field when using if your afraid it will fail but it's not like the artisan cutlery proponent I have 2 of those and they both come with a pin to screw in there

@@jonenglert5809 thanks for the info. The hole seems pretty useless to be honest, but it doesn't bother me. I appreciate you watching and commenting! Thanks again

In my opinion one of the best knives in the price range. I snagged mine at Blade and I have truly enjoyed it. Hope it serves you well

Thank you very much for this very good video. I will buy this knife for sure. I own a shark lock and the Cold steel 4 Max Italien made. A beast. But in my opinion the Triad lock is a lot stronger than the shark lock. Even not a match. Your video is responsible for my order of this AD 10 Special edition this morning. Thank you again 😂😂😂👍🏻

Thank you for your kind words. I have no way of determining which lock is stronger, but the creator of both locks, Andrew Demko. said the Shark Lock is stronger. Maybe he is just trying to sell the new lock design. Either way both locks are rock solid. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Sweet!! Supposed to get mine tomorrow! I have heard nothing but good things. The AD10 is just a Staple in any collection in my opinion. If you havent yet, I reccomend the AD15 and the Scorpion Lock.. Different , Fun and Functional

I ordered one from Midway which should be delivered here (NY) Monday. I like big beefy knives and Ti , so this one was definitely in my future. Idk if I would have sprang the original price of $400 for this, but at $250, a great deal IMHO.

@@MegaFrank1960 I just received mine from Midway last night for the same price. The knife market isn't as hot as it was 6 months ago, so let's enjoy these deals while they last! I've been playing with it a lot today after filming and I am really liking it. The pocket clip kind of sucks, as it's hard to get in and out of my pocket, but other then that I'm loving it. Congrats on your purchase! Thanks for watching and commenting and don't forget to subscribe

Already “subscribed “ buddy. I’m definitely going to like the weight, which weighs in over (the just under 8 oz) Demko all Ti AD20. We guys with XXL hands definitely appreciate the larger grips and added weight on these over built knives. Btw…the Hinderer XM25 is next on my hit list….😊

@@MegaFrank1960 after I made the comment I noticed you were already a subscribe and we chatted once before. My memory sucks but I appreciate your support. I carry a knife "just in case" and I like a really capable knife. The XM-24 is a $600 knife but I love it. I try to avoid talking about value because some people think a $40 knife is too expensive. I'll tell you right now though, the AD10 is more ergonomic, but I like the action of the XM-24. I got a thing for Hinderer knives 😂
