yeah I have done it when I was using iPhone for the first time in my life. Had to share 3GB of video file and no cable was working to transfer video, but this method didn't work either because iPhone compressed 1080p file into 720p before uploading... then I made a network shared folder on Windows and now it's easy... BTW I watched this video to the end... keep it up...
Thanks for posting your video. I was pulling my hair out trying to figure out how to transfer a file from my Windows 10 pc to my iPad Air. I also have a older iPad 3 that thanks to you I can get files over to it as well. :)
Can you make more python videos that are associated with finance? I am a Finance and MIS major in college and your channel has really made me want to incorporate the two together. Thanks!
Here is a easy way. Set up a FTP sever on your Windows PC You can FTP into the window PC with an iPad. Easy. I use FTP all the time between my iPad, my raspberry pi, and my Windows 10 PC You can even Remote Desktop into a raspberry pi and a Windows PC from a iPad. RD app and a FTP app is all you need.
This would work really well if Python installed itself where the cmd prompt could actually find it. Followed directions to that point but Python could not be found.
Thank you so much, this is such a great help and I exactly had the same promblem as you. Thumb up and subscribed. BTW: I love the Britishnes of your pronounciation
I think you forgot to show the screens clearly bet what you did at 4:20 and 4:30..... you typed ip address and server number? and which screen on ipad?...not everyone who comes here is from programming background....i figured it out eventually but you cud use this as a feedback..
hello, thank you for your help. i have a question please. i want to delete this server created but i don't know how to do it could you plz give me an idea about that?
When the files are on the ipad they are in the folder `Downloads`, how can i put them in the right spot, so that i can read books, and i can watch videos?
It doesn't open the directory when I enter my IP address in the browser. However, It opens on my PC using localhost:8000 ... I tried turning off the firewall and some other technics which I read in internet but the problem didn't fix...
Does the file actually transfer and save on the iPad? It looks like the file is hosted on the computer and shared to the iPad using the server setup (which is a great way to do that), but I did not see where the ipad saved the file locally. What did I miss?
You say 'I'm going to type in the ip address in the ipad' but fail to show or tell where to type it in. this stage. As a novice to ipads, I couldn't figure out
Im mangaka and I really need versioning control so bad so I just fk it and use git. Idgaf abt github policies but Im sure they are pretty much friendly and kind fellow of community unlike apple
nice solution but this method doesn't have much relation with python. It is simply running a file server. The files can be accessible from any device connected, bot particularly just ipad
My ipad doesnt connect to the server, it tries to load the page for a couple of minutes then just times out. If I could get some help to understand what Im missing that would be great, thanks.
@@arnaudray4446 Hey, I don't know if this will help you, but I added :8000 after my IP address in the web search and I could connect with my ipad in the end. Hope it helps
Only Apple make it frustrating by not allowing this through their OS as standard. Android device is no problems. Just browse to the folder of your choice and copy away.
Your videos got me started into the transition from Excel to Python, I now can substitute half of my work tools with Python. Thank you!

Thank you so much for this. It's always been frustrating how poorly the iPad plays with other computers. You've saved me a lot of time.
That was awesome, always amazes me how powerful Python can be from a single command
This is a great solution I've never realized. Thank you for sharing it!
In 2021, data exchange requires such a hack. Where have we gone wrong?

Me: that's a cool minecraft wallpaper
Nice! Is there a way to do this from ipad to win? Thanks
does the port number matter at all?
Very very useful! Nice video, thanks for sharing
That is awesome, im gonna try that myself. Can python help to download files from iphones to windows PC?
Absolutely amazing 👏🏻👏🏻
_Looks coOl 😎, valuable video. I want to try this now !!!_
Excellent idea, I just needed that. Is there a way to make a similar local server which I can use to stream my GoPro videos from my PC onto the ipad2?
brot create a smb share folder in your pc look for it on your network with file app on ipad and use that folder to share anything between pc and ipad
Very clever, very easy!
Second I guess. But that was a very helpful video. I wanted to create a project like that.
Glad it was helpful!
I cant believe how such a basic function like this isnt available on iPads yet. Apple being Apple
Thanks for sharing that with us , it is very helpful to me 🌹🌹
Even works for Android. Thanks a lot, man.
VLC Media Player uses this approach, and I thought it was magical. Who knew we could do the same in ONE line of code? YEAH!!!
Please explain
very helpful.. How to make it public ? Just for learning purpose.
Really helpful video hope to see more videos like that .
That book is amazing.
You are a star!!! thanks for sharing...this is exactly what I want to do.
This is gold dust! Gracias!
Thanks a million.
wow great simple and so useful.. python power!!
1000 thanks sir!!! very good
What about peripherals, unrecognized files, apps, new apps, internet regocnition, wifi, etc.
I don't have pc not even a window laptop or Mac Book 🙏 but I love to learn languages thats why I watched your videos 🥺😓

I am stunned by the simplicity of this...and my unupdatable iPad will come to life again. Thank you.
More easy is using ftp server .. works in every device
Or smb protocol.

I can't access the webpage under the same LAN, pretty sure I put correct port and ipv4 address correctly.

I had the same problem, the internet page doesn't load, neither in safari nor in chrome (when I tried with my android phone).
'Documents' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.
Simply brilliant!
Does anyone know if I need to keep my computer on in order to keep the path open?
It's work?
Do an ipad review
Brilliant

I tried this and am now having dns issues and can't connect to the internet. Any idea how to fix that?
I love Linux that is why. If the GUI doesn’t work? Fck it and Terminal has powers to Pull the Bulls by the Horns
Does anyone knows how to export bookmarks from chrome in Windows 11 to an ipad pro 11??
You always great and your tips are amazing

What about hfs file sever :p
Great, my iPad is not that old but it can be only used for reading and youtube.
