Great video. It's very refreshing to have someone with an obvious wide knowledge of world football comment so favourably about our wee league. Not glamorous, but give me honest grit, effort, and passion any day. You have many friends from across the Northern Ireland footballing family, especially from my club Glentoran. Keep up your great work. Bless em all.
Hope you enjoyed your trip to Northern Ireland. Ballymena fan and been watching your videos for the last 2 years or so, great coverage of smaller clubs who deserve it. Keep up the good work mate!
Watched it on Sky. Great game. The Irish League deserve more recognition and our English clubs should consider playing some pre season games there. Imagine the gate revenue these Irish clubs receive when plenty of away fans cross the Irish sea to watch their teams play at very unique football grounds. It's not the football, the country is beautiful and the hospitality is second to none. I know too well as I visited in 2018. Crusaders, Cliftonville, Glentoran, Linfield, Ballymena, Coleraine etc would benefit greatly welcoming clubs from the other side of the Irish sea.
Definitely, the number of fans from here that go across the water to man u,Liverpool, Chelsea and others, which takes money out of local cash struck clubs. On top of that they take any promising young players without any transfer fees, and then just dump them if don't make grade. Needs to be more of the vast wealth at the top of PLand SPL filter down to rest of sport at grassroots
Probably your best video I have watched of yours so far, two teams and a league I know very little about. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Proper football. Nail on head when talking about value for money. What people who only watch champions league/ Prem teams on the tv don’t get is that football doesn’t have to be played at elite level to be entertaining. As long as it is competitive and there is something at stake. That is why it is the global game. And watching a game in a stadium is always far superior to watching a game on tv. Sod paying hundreds of pounds to watch a game of football.
Total respect to you, giving exposure to both Irish nations leagues plus Scotland at all level, I’ve always followed Scottish football cause of my Scottish roots but my interest has been increased due to your videos and great work you do exposing these leagues even at lower levels like Scottish non league 👏 great to see you giving Northern Irish football some exposure
great video highlighting the irish league. you are 100% right its proper value for money. alot of the irish league clubs have strong community connections and its good to see so many younger fans at the games.
From what I've seen of football on the island of Ireland it looks like a very good day out. Although the standard might not be as high as in the Spanish league, occasionally one will get to see a player who will be spotted and will sign for a PL or Championship club. My brother lives in France and Zidane started his playing career at his local club which was in the 3rd or 4th tier.
It´s interesting how young the core support of the most clubs in the UK is. A contrast to the ultras from the rest of Europe. Nice to cover some of these matches, I´m always interested to get more information about the rivalries and acitivities in Northern Ireland and Ireland. Small but decent supporters with love for the local game. The guy from before and after the game looks like a very cool guy. Cheers to him!
@@jackmccalmont5311 Im interested in the background of the supporters from some clubs. Which way I decide to be a supporter of Crussaders, Glentoran or Linfield? Is it only by where I live in Belfast or are there other aspects too? Is Institute FC a club with fans or is Derry City the one and only club in Derry? Has Distillery still some support? Would there be a crowd like on a regular game of the Belfast clubs when they would play higher again? Does Larne have a derby? What do the supporters of the clubs in Northern Ireland think about the fact that Linfield tries to be a little Rangers FC? Isn´t it harming the football of NI? Love this video too. Started in a park where I grew up and lived beside for many years. Thanks for this. Really great to see you highlight our game here.
Love seeing your video's, esp being an aussie living in the philippines, but have always kept up with all the results in nth ireland and scotland as thats where my parents come from , so you know i am a linfield and rangers supporter , keep up the great work mate
This is the first video of your I watched, fantastic content! I'm English living in NI, just recently started following the Irish League (Crusaders are my nearest side) and it is fantastic, Conference-League 2 standard but with trophies, history, passionate rivalries, European games, Linfield the evil empire, Glentoran the meme club with a Victorian stadium, religious paraphernalia. Just amazing.
@The 90's particular teams tend to represent those of a certain ethno-relihious background e.g. Cliftonville and Newry fans are overwhelmingly from the Nationality Community, Linfield have very much a Unionist fanbase. Quite like the whole Celtic Rangers thing.
Subscribed! Great channel, great presentation, great reason to do it anyway. I have worked all over the world and have seen football in the Gulf, Korea, former Eastern Europe, Belfast (i'm from NI) and, believe it or not, the Nigerian 5 a side 'entertainment ladies' league. Boom!
Great video. I used to go to Linfield games when I was a kid, now just Northern Ireland games. Looked like a good derby game. I was at quite a few Linfield v Cliftonville games during the 80’s . They were not for the faint hearted. Some of them are on UA-cam.
Thank you mate.great video.for someone like yourself to come to Belfast and have such a great time is amazing.let us all know the next time and we can meet up.
Indeed good friend Sam,this is one of the craziest matches for me to watch and long lives respectively to both of my favourites Crusaders and Cliftonville!!!:-D
Aye fair play mate. The coverage you’ve given Scottish football is second to known. But going over to the 6 counties of the North and now previewing their games is a class act! Well done and keep it up ✊🏻

Used to live 5 mins walk from crusaders ground when I lived in mount vernon was always for linfield but got a soft spot for the crues, you do a great job mate, keep it up
You mentioned something very important in your video: "No VAR". There are people around the Irish League (particularly at Glentoran) calling for a version of VAR to be brought in. That would be the absolute worst thing they could do to Irish League football.
Great video Sam! I think the longest serving manager in the world happens to be at one of my local clubs, Bacup Borough. Brent Peters has been manager at the North West Counties League club since September 1997 and is now also Chairman. Would be a great story to cover if you're ever in these parts! A very picturesque ground too.
You should go Inverness and Falkirk Scottish Cup match. Should have a good atmosphere and both teams have a chance in getting to the final 3:06 terrible newspaper company no offence to him

I went to Linfield v Glentoran in the late 90's at Windsor Park absolute sell out with a huge atmosphere. Both team going for the league title. I was sitting in the Glentoran end and when Linfield went 3-0 up the guy in front of me stood up stamped on his seat and threw it towards the pitch like a frisbee.
