I started lessons in 2007 at age 37, played for the first few years at the local pitch n putt, then moved on to the big courses. I never really learned the etiquette of repairing pitch marks. This is the next part of my game that's about to improve.... I'm gonna be a pitch mark MASTER from now on! :)
Even number 3 is totally incorrect. You don’t mangle the hole. You’re simply pushing the turf back from the other side. You still lifted and pulled roots out .
The 4th and most commonly used method by visitor golfers is as follows: Step 1. Read green and line up putt Step 2. Miss the 12 foot putt Step 3. Give yourself the 8 foot putt back Step 4. Walk to next tee box
Joke.the only tool is a long tee used as you demonstrated. If you look at the steel cut key ring type fork it has 8 sharp sides which will cut into the fine green type roots & you delved in 4/6 that's a lot of damage.
@@ikaZi84 How are they to line up and putt if they are fixing their pitch marks also. You stated they are lining up and putting at the same time as the gentleman is fixing his pitch mark. Please reach an IQ level of 20 before commenting.
Apparently the folks playing at my local public courses don’t use any of these methods…

Pretty interesting that repairing a pitch mark wrong will actually make it take longer to heal than just leaving it alone
good to see the three examples side by side with the time lapse. I use #3 but as mentioned elsewere here I dont twist the wrist.

My course loves example 2 ballmark “repairs” it’s ridiculous.
I want to know who's grouping 3 pitch marks within a foot 😮

If you had applied 1st fix method (to #2 ) more gently, and not lifting so far as to obviously rip the roots out, then it would have worked just fine.

Repair to 3 was shocking. You were twisting at the end😡
That was terrible
That drawn out method will easily add 15 minutes to every round, playing in a foursome. How silly to take time to make such a video with no putter.
You can repair your divot while your fellow players are lining up or putting. Having an IQ over 65 helps, too.
