From leaving the Criminal Justice Field to coming over to trucking it was the BEST decision for me! I work for an amazing company & that matters! And this from some who has 2 degrees! Trucking has changed my life! I’m almost out of consumer debt 💸 which is key! Most truck drivers have a SPENDING PROBLEM so of course it’s easy to say the industry sucks. Live within your means & be smarter with your money 💰
@@king4916 I got my CDL basically for free at the tech school in GA. Everyone has different experiences when it comes to trucking but I was before trucking I make no complaints.
I work local and this year I’ve grossed my first 100k. I did OTR the previous year and though i work 12 hour days now local, I have a way better work/life balance
One common misconception is that companies could pay their drivers $200,000 a year if they wanted to. However, this is not possible due to the dynamics of the freight market. The freight market operates similarly to the stock market, with supply and demand determining prices. Currently, there is an oversupply of drivers compared to the demand for shipping services. As a result, shippers have the upper hand in negotiations and can secure lower prices. In contrast, specialized heavy haulers, who are in high demand and have limited competition, are able to negotiate higher rates.
I work for a company that hires these newbies. I have no problem with that. But, what they do is hire a bunch of different drivers, and then when things get a tad bit slow, they cut your days. These same drivers wreck the tractors, trailers, and customers' property.😂😂😂 Then some of them turn right around and quit. I work in food service and made the most I ever made. Trucking is not a dying industry.
Here’s the reality. Trucking isn’t for everyone, some people may never find the “perfect company” that works for them. Sometimes it takes for you to take a step back to realize if it’s meant. Some people have never truly struggled in life so they can’t appreciate what we see in trucking. Trucking is a way out for a lot of people and that’s just a fact. I have a college degree from a great school but after not getting the pay I felt I deserved, year after year, I decided trucking and it’s the best choice I could have made for myself. 2024 it’s up!
Same here bro.. graduated with a BA from a private school.. prospects are 30-50k for the most part... If I can make 100k a year local after I get 1-2 years OTR experience behind the wheel, I'll go a lot further that way..
True well said. I think trucking u can make fast money but many don't have vacation or benefits those wheels has to be rolling shitting in a bucket eating out and never home in that table ive done it for 8 years and I'm taking a break I can say it feels so good to be home and sleeping in my bed and eating in my table I'll take working 9 to 6 instead of being in that truck wasting my life for 1800 weekly . I think I'm worth more than that. Especially shitting in a bucket 😂😆😂
This is dangerous because that guy just does not want to work and it’s really that simple, the problem is with trucking the barrier of entry is way to low so you get lazy people like him coming in for a quick buck with no plan at all if you look into his journey his stance makes complete sense, he’s worked at 2 mega carriers pulling general freight with 2 years experience. He did not specialize and he’s making horizontal movements between companies which is why he is struggling
That was me, directionless spent 3yrs general freight, was telling myself trucking ain’t for me, that’s until I got specialized in heavy haul, it’s a absolute must you know why you came Into trucking and do that without question
I completely agree with you. Also, I know plenty of people who went to college and are in severe debt because of it that are making low income but don’t push for the right career path. they go to school for the wrong thing. A lot of trades pay more than college degrees. This dude is just lazy. I’ve watched other videos of his and all he talks about are cons and why he thinks it’s a bad idea with only a couple years under his belt. His average is bullshit also. 50k yeah maybe for class B.
Dang this is the second video I see this morning addressing Mr. Ramos 😂 After two years he should already have enough money saved up to be O/O or found a local gig by now.
Trucking set me up for success. I’ll always be thankful for that. I love the freedom, audio books, podcasts, nobody is harping over my shoulder or micromanaging me. I miss my little boy for sure but every career has its pros and cons. Good video bro!
I'm on the other side I love traveling love being alone. Stacking a bunch of money no debt. Taking 7 days off whenever I want. I don't give a crap about most of the things he lists. If you're that afraid to do this you shouldn't be out here. Even if you go local you've got to put in the work. His numbers are coming from California money standards. That's entirely different then the nation of trucking as a whole.
One thing you have to remember especially as a man and as a black man at this thing called life its about resilience and about being able to adapt to the times! Exactly why I made sure I got all my endorsements and humble myself to be able to work in any division of trucking! When animals are hungry they don't complain they just go out and adapt and survive! My 3 great tips and characteristics that every person should have to succeed in life #1 Humility #2 Accountability #3 Compassion Shalom trucking fam 🙏🏾💪🏾🚛🏁👷🏾♂️👍🏾 Good video brah appreciate your work man!
I’m subscribed to his channel and this man simply does not want to work he just wants to be a full time UA-camr I’ve had my cdl for 10 years now and it’s been a blessing to me
I commented on that guys video too. Dude simply just hates trucking. Has 2 years of experience… he chooses knight of all places😑complains abt underpaid but needs to understand EVERYONE in this world are underpaid. Who here wishes they were paid more? Exactly. Put in the work, look for better opportunities. Some jobs aren’t meant for one… but work great for others. I live by this quote; A lot of people don’t want to make a million dollars, but rather spend a million dollars
No problem man. I actually agree with a lot of what you stated in your video. You made some valid points. Also, from a content creator perspective I think you did a great job appealing to the viewers. Whether the appeal was coming from a positive place or negative place the people still watched the video. Good luck with your future endeavors. 👍🏾
Been trucking 5years some things he is telling the truth bro.time you put in over the road is not worth it. It’s better to be local not otr because if you breakdown you don’t lose a lot of time and money than to be over the road.Time is money otr is not worth it
I am semi retired. Worked for a good company for 25 years. The company was the shipper. Made really good money. Now I’m working for a small company that’s also the shipper. Home every week for three days. Making really good money again with a different company. Get your experience from a mega carrier, then move on to the money! You have no one to blame but yourself for your failures in trucking. The reason I came out of retirement was not financially. I was itching to get back out with a really good smaller company. BTW this company’s owner operators make 3 to 4 hundred thousand $ a year. I make 100,000 a yer working 4 days a week.
I came across that guy before i cant remember what company he drove for but i remember he wiorked for a shitty company and then he tried to say bein OWNER OP is not worth it. I do OTR and right now im lucky the company im with and can take 7days off after workin 3weeks.
Just got my CDL Class A and I’m getting into LTL linehaul set to make 95k starting after making only 42k in my entry level healthcare job I had 5 years experience in. Trucking is about to change my life. Lifestyle tax won’t get me.
Trucking saved my bacon from an inconsistent and unreliable freight economy. Earning my CDL helped me earn my way out of debt and I am not prospectively looking to invest my savings in a truck to become an o/o. Trucking is awful, and so is every other field I have explored. Yet, trucking is the *only* career I have experienced drivers asking if I am okay, need help, or outright saying hello and being happy. I genuinely enjoy appreciating this job, even with as much of my free time as I have lost from it. *EVERY* niche has pros and cons, and your best bet to success is to never let "money" nor "debt" define your wealth. You don't need loans or leasing - you just need patience and a genuine work ethic, both will help you enjoy what you do more each day. Jesus is King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
That dude just hates trucking if you watch his videos he wants to be a bar tender he’s worked for two crappy companies back to back. I’ve gotten into trucking this year and I’ve loved it and I’ve love my company , they let me take as much hometime as I want and they pay me fairly and if I feel the roads aren’t safe I just have to communicate and let them know . I’ve made more money than I ever did at my old job which was being a FedEx ground delivery driver. My only problem about trucking is the diet and I’m working on that already by trying to buy healthy stuff and stay away from truck stop food. Everybody wants to be a entrepreneur nowadays nobody wants to work anymore
Great video my guy. it's a lot of these kind of guys coming in thinking that they're going to make a easy buck with zero passion for the line of work that comes with trucking. Its different strokes for different folks if he wants to do content creating that's cool but he don't have to bury trucking because it isn't working out in his favor.
I agreed with some of the points he made, as a OTR Owner Operator that sector of trucking is dying the bar to entry is so low anybody can be a truck driver these days, nobody appreciates a truck driver anymore , truckers dont make it any better by the way some of them carry themselves being dirty not showering. Sadly its not a respectable carrier like it use to be.
I’ve only been in this industry for four years. I’ve made six figures as a W-2 company driver every year except the first. As for home time? When I was an executive, I commuted. I got home in time to eat, sleep, and get ready for work again. When I was home, I was answering calls and messages from work. Now? I go home every two weeks, park the truck in the driveway, and don’t worry about it until I’m ready to leave. The best carriers aren’t advertising. Networking and Research.
I’m a newbie truck driver (3 months in) and with this in mind I’ll share that my father spent over 30 years OTR with no accidents. He loved it! I just started working for Schneider and I start my first day tomorrow. Dedicated route, home weekly, four states. The pay is not the best but right now I’m gaining the experience to get one of those great paying local jobs that are not being advertised! It’s about perseverance, getting those endorsements and staying safe! Eventually I’ll get to making 100k a year. I don’t know of another career that I can reach that goal that quick. Even the “low” pay is more than what I was making as a school bus driver which was about $1100 per month with extreme liability and inward facing cameras and 50 kids who know that and are testing you!🤣 Be safe drivers!
I think that if the industry pivots and adapt to the new wave of drivers (largely wanting local/regional work) it will be better off, which is another reason why you see local positions that are worth it are hard to find in major cities now whereas 2 years ago it was local jobs hand over fist.
Trucking was a good spot for me when I needed it, but to be honest, it was a few good managers that made it good. In my opinion after 11 years doing it: the driver's time isn't compensated well-enough, with very few exceptions. If I'm not home, in a cab somewhere in a parking lot, in traffic, in weather, at a warehouse... idc where doing what, if I'm not home and at work I need to be paid for my time. Any high-paying/union hourly gig is in a metro area with high COL. I moved onto nursing and I make in 24 hours a week what I made 6 days a week in a truck. I pick when and where I want to work and I can work anywhere. I was making over $50/hr with OT after 8 hours for the Teamsters in NYC. I'm out of the city and making $100/hr in the country now
@geddon436 I'm an RN-BSN. RNs can enter with an AS, BS, and even an MS. LPNs are just a certificate and often make the videos about trucking because the money is comparable. RN is clearly more money for the time. I also had a BS in Business Administration prior to nursing and was an operations manager for Fed-Ex Frieght. Wasn't much better there, still working 60 hours a week and responsible for everything.
@@ryanwilliams4270 I was researching Business Admin degree and Nursing, I don't have desire to be management, your experience confirms it......I don't believe I could become a nurse because sticking people with needles and the bodily fluids
So I'm just saying right. Man said he wants to be able to be home go to the gym, be with the kids, walk the dog etc. why not do local work lets say be on food service to where to can work and be at the gym at the same time, and then you can be home with the kids and walk your dog after 🤔 just a thought!!
man they fired me bc i was running the clock up. a couple days before Christmas. i was home daily hourly. boy i was rackin up😂. $1000-1100 a week just riding the drive line. ik its wrong but i regret nothing bc ive asked schneider plenty times to book me more loads, they lie and say they will but never do
I mean I just think he hasn't found the lane that works for him. The job I have I had 127 days off this year at home and still earned 107,000 but I also chose to go into the thing that makes a lot of money. 8 axle Chemical Tankers. Semi local so I'm home 90% of the time every day and yeah it's long hours a lot of days but I've also had a lot of time off. I'm leaving truck driving early in 2024 but really because I been driving for almost 2 years since the day I exited the military so I want to go and see if there is something else for me
@imanthonytv I'm just open minded. I don't hate driving and in fact I hate to leave it right now but time to see what else I can do for the time being. I'll still recommend driving to anyone because there will always be opportunity here. It may not be a 20 30 or 40 year career thing anymore but there is still a ton of money
As an otr driver i have taken a break because i get tired of being asked to drive illegal as a team truck even tho I'm solo. Bad equipment. Going and taking chances on trucking companies with bad equipment then being told by loves oh your company hasnt paid their bills and were not helping them with this. So alot comes with it. Being stranded. Not being paid. Just to much.
Yeah it is different factors, I drive locally and it was the best choice for me, since I have two young sons at home. I drove OTR for about seven years, I just started getting depressed every time it was time to grab the duffel bag and leave the family behind. Trucking is not dead, it’s just time consuming
I appreciate you bro! Nobody in the trucking space makes better quality videos than you in my opinion. Your production is top tier. As a content creator, you definitely inspire me to keep getting better. Much success to you in 2024 my guy! 💯💪🏾
Trucking is not a failing industry nothing gets done without trucks, If you’ve never had you’re own authority you’ll definitely have these types of opinions, yes there are high cost but higher reward if you know what you’re doing. I would never be an OTR company drive i do agree with that.
I make 150k a year. My pension and health benefits are company paid man I make 200k a year with those things included. And city home everyday guys make up to 150 in total with all included
For me I started when I was 21 2021, got my class a with Pam. I will say, someday we're rough than others, but overall, I just love driving, and driving big trucks, I wasn't worried about the money mostly, I was seeking a job that I'd be happy doing, enjoying life and not dying on the inside from work like construction and concrete, I just wasn't built for it, but I did it, and I did it to the best of my ability. My body after 2 years in construction, wasn't improving, in fact I was actually getting more and more exhausted and mind you I was 18 to 19 right out of high school, so it's always been a mystery to me why I get so exhausted so quickly, even trying to pace myself. Which I don't mind the work, it wasnt hard, but over time I was falling over, but trucking at 21 was good for me, brought me to the lord in a sense because I did a lot of thinking my first 1yr and a half, a lot of thinking, to which a testimony came out of that through the isolation I found myself in.
If you are an American finding a job in the trades is almost impossible so people that drive will thank you so much we need them the company's are what's wrong .
The pay skill in this industry is segmented into two main areas. The mega carriers who use government programs to fill seats and pay drivers bottom dollar versus LTL tanker and smaller flatbed companies that pay drivers what they are worth. You have to work for a private fleet or these other freight types to actually make close to what you deserve as a company driver. These mega companies have special privileges that allow them to functionoff of paying you pennies on the dollar. If you want that money, you have to do something different and get your experience up.
I did OTR drove in 44 states.. out 3 to 4 weeks. Only a few days home.. i been doing local.. i made about 80k.. i would not go OTR or regional for less than 120k a year...i put on 20lbs on the road to.. i didn't even really eat much.. just a lot of mt dew lol
I honestly like otr...yeah you gotta be smart with your health...eat correct work out in the truck...get a a hobby for your off time....but i also dont have kids....or a spouse...its really a personal thing...will i stay otr forever....no but ill get my experience these next couple years and go local when im ready
He is right as owner operator with new pay off trucks and have my dot and my Mc this industry become joke in 2021 130000 new carrier inter this industry and only 26000 left at 2023 too much of truck and truck drivers mean no respect for drivers and no respect for owner operator
I’m an OTR driver I love it but there are things that are just non-negotiable missing my birthday my girls birthday, special events, Vacation Trips I make a point to any DM I’ve had. Also me and my girl understand where we are in life and we are building for our future to be more relaxed and have our kids live a life that we didn’t live. Now with all that being said I’m getting my own truck I’m leasing on to carrier and move up from company. I’m also in the specializes sector of trucking so I don’t have those problems. I know what my end goal is.
I owned and ran a small venue for the last three years and it was good until it wasn't, but switching into the trucking industry has been the best decision Ive made. wish i would have done it sooner
Be careful who you listen too,Everyone has a different situation. I'm 15 yrs in and trucking has me in the 100k range the last 8yrs OTR isn't for everyone YOU have to pick what works for you.Dont let someone else make life decisions for you and your family.
Wish I could get a local job smh. Tried otr for a few weeks. It’s not for me. I like to have a work/life balance. Plus my family didn’t like it. Feel like I got in the cdl game too late. Everyone wants 3 years experience in Texas. A few years back local companies would hire new drivers all the time.
Remember when I first started @23 I was VERY athletic and good hooper 3 years past by of OTR I finally got off the road I was so LAZY and SLUGGISH I’d take out the trash and be exhausted.
I work in Produce with a mega carrier semi local. I made 69k last year, only working three days a week. I work nights, but it works with my schedule with the wife and kids. Dude, should quit OTR and try local or semi local. I see a lot of sad and depressed truckers at the gas stops. OTR is never an option for me.
Im 54 certified nursing assistant i moved from Philly further out to the county i was looking around an found a nursing school and Smith and Solomon next door rn nursing 25 thousand CDL 5 thousand now keep in mind I've never made good money being a CNA i don't want spend my life wiping you know what truck driving will put me in a way more independent state i can live in a nice one bedroom an a dog im a low-key person so having a CDL sounds like a win 30 thousand to 50 to 80 a year please I'll be fine.
I’m an owner operator running containers out of the ports in Va I’ve have 4 trucks 2 are without drivers I drive one myself and I’m going broke with the operation cost and the low low rates 😢

I’m an Owner Operator I own 4 Trucks and 8 Dry Vans I been in Business for almost 10 years I only drove for almost 3 Years after that I stop driving and staring to buy Trucks and Trailers so now I just focus on my Drivers and my Equipment that I own so far!…so Trucking will give you what you need and what you want….I know that we are going through a bad time right now but it doesn’t mean that I have to STOP my Business and Quit and move out and fired my Drivers no I can’t do that!!!…in this Industry you have to Success Success as soon as you Open the door from that Track that your driving!!… that’s what my Grandpa told me every day and that’s what I’m trying to do….. I’m sure the future UA-camr doesn’t know how to run a Business that’s the reason that he’s leaving the Industry because he FAILED here!..
I saw that video too and I was going to comment on it but I decided not to. He needs to get more experience before he see’s the big bucks. This year (my 18th year driving) has been my best year pay wise. Just got my last check of 2023 and I cleared $140k. I’m sure he and anyone else can do this too, but give it time and you have to find these good paying jobs. They’re not just advertising “hey we’ll pay anyone/everyone $100k+++.” Do homework and be patient!!!
Its funny when it comes from a rookie this industry has no room for drama queens,he literally is the trucker guy mini me😂simple as this he was unemployed just to quit a mega carrier a d end up working with another mega carrier company, this is the kind of people who should stay away from trucking
Man yall keep making all these vids please yall gone give trucking back to us who love live it and hate seeing what all the no driving idiots in trucks today
First off, everyone is entitled to their opinions about trucking and different directions you can choose. I have been driving for 7 years, coming from working in retail (walmart 10yrs) and warehouse (Amazon 3yrs). I can speak that working for Amazon wasn't the best they work and treat you like a dog. The only positive I got from them they paid for my CDL school. I got to do something different and make a decent living compared to working getting paid every two weeks.
I am a driver for more than 35 years, 20 years in USA. I have no health insurance, my salary stuck, that freaking camera wants to tell me how I have to drive, I got stress and high blood pressure, dispatchers treated me like I am a the stupid guy in the planet….etc etc etc. If I could back my years, trucking is going to be my last choice. Get an education and go. Forget about driving career….it is gone.
Hey folks I have ten years of driving and I feel the trucking industry is healthy...why do I say this? Because I have been working my behind very hard since the start of 2024 and I am very happy. I am an over the road driver and I go out fir two to three days a week and I do my 10 hours home sometimes and my 34 home every week. Look people the transportation industry is very wide and varies in what needs to be moved. Anyways I am staying put in the driving industry...as a company driver I am satisfied and interesting enough if I had my own truck the company I currently work for would take me onboard...anyways
Trucking is not a failing industry. It just depends if your local, regional,or OTR.OTR is not worth it anymore. Companies lie with the work and pay. Guaranteed pay is a joke 😂. It’s not just the trucking industry. Everything is expensive over the road. Unless if a trucker is ok with eating ramen and can goods everyday. Not Healthy 🚚
Back when I first started driving I thought over the road was cool then i realized that i can make more money been local or a casual driver like these drivers see a job opportunity they read the requirements it's up to he or she to not except that job but people still do you know what you signing up for before you fill out that application
I actually agree with a lot of what he stated in the video. Particularly from an OTR perspective. I don’t think everything he stated applied to the majority of drivers who aren’t OTR.
@@imanthonytv OTR is subjective, but to me it should just be used to save up as much money as you can until you get a regional route with weekends off or a local job. OTR for longer then a year is not good for your health and sanity plus you miss out on so much.
This guy is always complains about trucking, but doesn’t have the guts to quit. Why would he keep trucking for another yr. I don’t think he really has the confidence in himself to be successful at anything else. He obviously isn’t consistent with what he speaks. Hey quit already, why would want to keep making yourself miserable doing what you hate.
The industry and/or the economy is failing because we got idiots in the White House…simple as that! If you think you can’t handle trucking go back to 9-5 jobs or do something else. It’s like wanting to join the army and want to be home like a 9-5 job. The UA-cam wannabe guy has some good points, but not the right mindset.
I've been driving since 1992 . We got punks now. Perhaps everyone has something to say . Back then guys couldn't read or Wright use land mark shift two gears like I did . It paid the bills ran with just that simple. Hay maybe it's isn't that bad. But our government keep putting taxes on all. I work on my own truck and enjoy it. Like I said we got punks now it just not for all. If you want to b a youtuber b my gest . Stay in your lane just maybe us real drivers can move forward 💯 period 💯 👌
Trucking isn’t for everyone that all this is. It got to popular due to social media and a lot of people got sold a pot of gold. Nothing is easy in life pick your struggle or move on.
Trucking isn’t for everyone right now that’s completely fine it’s one of those things you won’t know until you really get behind the wheel it’s easy to get jaded especially if your with a bad company it’s different for everyone for all the horror stories there’s just as many success stories just gotta see for yourself
I own my own truck n trailer I go from southern calif to Utah I make about 280 every year.. I live n a rv have all my toys u just have to know what to do with ur money.. get u a good route I'm home every other day take off when I want ... off every weekend sorry bro it's just u
He’s a perfect example of a steering wheel holder. He chose this thing we call trucking. He not making the money he thought he was going to make. If he finds the right company to work for he might like it a little bit more. Like everybody said Trucking is not for everybody! I love it been around all my life. I just sit deep in the seat and shift a few gear and hold for the ride. Just remember guys and girls you chose to be a trucker. You can pick what you want to do OTR or whatever. Just don’t blame the industry. Be Safe Be careful! DownShift said that and I’m Back Out!
Truck driving is a hustle if you not about getting the paper then stay out of it it's about the money wherever you make $500 or 1800 $ ... That's the life you choose when you get in it a lot of people just in it for the hype ..
This dude dont realized a lot of O/O used there money to buy property and start steams of income on like him who is going to watch his video for him to make enough to live off. That guy life seems so boring what content he is going to create?. Watching silent dash cam videos is way more entertaining than watching him.
Diabetic/ Obese , dont have access to a kitchen. Diabetic and obese.....well you choose the wrong foods! Theres healthy options !!!!!!!! You have pollo loco And fruit vendors on the streets, etc....... Just gotta choose the right food. And in the 10 hours that you're off duty, take at least 1 hour to do some pushups, walk or go for a jog , then get 7 hrs rest/sleep. Local tends to be more physical work and makes it easier to have a social life.
I’m home everyday, go to the gym mon -Friday got plenty of time to spend with my family n still make 6 figures a year working 4 days a week 😂 go local trucking i dnt know if this guy ever heard of that lol
See things for what they are & not for what you want it to be. You’ll find healing, understanding, & peace there. This guy has been deceived by fortune & now he believes he’s misfortune. It’s not a matter of what, but a matter of how. Add your W2 up over the years. It’s more than 500k if not millions. Especially if your a trucker. 52k x 5 years experience is more than 250k. It’s not the jobs fault you had kids you can’t afford, car you can’t afford, house you can’t afford, clothes you can’t afford, restaurants you can’t afford, etc… pull your make statement & bet you’ll find your money tied up in those few things. So, the W2 is proof your gettin money & the statements are proof you suck with money. Which means the business of self needs some remodeling. New perspectives, new thought process, etc…because what’s there now is doing a terrible job if your fulfillment is in money, status, & materials.
People think you just get into a truck 150,000 dollars. No , it takes work nothing worth while is easy. You Tuber yea if your lucky, this dude wants stuff easy. Good luck, I'm happy doing OTR KICKING IT.

This why I left reefer and made the move to step deck so I can gain open deck experience and eventually move to rng and so on to make more money
I work for a company that hires these newbies. I have no problem with that. But, what they do is hire a bunch of different drivers, and then when things get a tad bit slow, they cut your days. These same drivers wreck the tractors, trailers, and customers' property.😂😂😂
Then some of them turn right around and quit. I work in food service and made the most I ever made. Trucking is not a dying industry.
I agree 200k is not feasible..
What exactly are these specialized heavy haulers?
One example they haul airplane wing it also requires special equipment and escorts.
I just quit my local Dallas Texas job today. I’m over trucking. Personally it’s not for me and I’ve drove semi trucks for 4 years.
💪🏾💯
THIS! "Some people have never truly struggled in life so they can’t appreciate what we see in trucking".

He did not specialize and he’s making horizontal movements between companies which is why he is struggling
help me out. how can i work my way up?? company or owner operator?
That was me, directionless spent 3yrs general freight, was telling myself trucking ain’t for me, that’s until I got specialized in heavy haul, it’s a absolute must you know why you came
Into trucking and do that without question
Wether you specialize or not, in trucking you can have 30 years experience and be paid the same as a newbie.
@@Alpha-Scythe23 that’s a lot of jobs anymore
I completely agree with you. Also, I know plenty of people who went to college and are in severe debt because of it that are making low income but don’t push for the right career path. they go to school for the wrong thing. A lot of trades pay more than college degrees. This dude is just lazy. I’ve watched other videos of his and all he talks about are cons and why he thinks it’s a bad idea with only a couple years under his belt. His average is bullshit also. 50k yeah maybe for class B.
Dang this is the second video I see this morning addressing Mr. Ramos 😂 After two years he should already have enough money saved up to be O/O or found a local gig by now.
so owner operator is the way to go??
Trucking set me up for success. I’ll always be thankful for that. I love the freedom, audio books, podcasts, nobody is harping over my shoulder or micromanaging me. I miss my little boy for sure but every career has its pros and cons. Good video bro!
Well said. Keep doing your thing bro. 😎
Good point 💯

I commented on that guys video too. Dude simply just hates trucking. Has 2 years of experience… he chooses knight of all places😑complains abt underpaid but needs to understand EVERYONE in this world are underpaid. Who here wishes they were paid more? Exactly. Put in the work, look for better opportunities. Some jobs aren’t meant for one… but work great for others. I live by this quote; A lot of people don’t want to make a million dollars, but rather spend a million dollars
Daaaaam good comment! Well said
Thanks for your reaction Anthony! I like your work!
It’s better to be local not otr because if you breakdown you don’t lose a lot of time and money than to be over the road.Time is money otr is not worth it
@kuda675 💯
Hes a perfect example of how trucking is not for everyone. Not everybody has to feel the same way he does.
Now that’s the truth and an awesome gig!
I came across that guy before i cant remember what company he drove for but i remember he wiorked for a shitty company and then he tried to say bein OWNER OP is not worth it. I do OTR and right now im lucky the company im with and can take 7days off after workin 3weeks.
He worked for England and knight
Just got my CDL Class A and I’m getting into LTL linehaul set to make 95k starting after making only 42k in my entry level healthcare job I had 5 years experience in. Trucking is about to change my life. Lifestyle tax won’t get me.
Haha.. I like the lifestyle tax reference. That’s a significant increase in salary bro. Gotta manage that bread accordingly.
That dude is a company driver he don't fully understand being an O/O
Amen
💯
Local work is wayyyy more stressful and taxing on the body than otr. I'll never work local again I hated it with a passion
I'm out of the city and making $100/hr in the country now
Nice 👍🏾
RN? or BSN?
@geddon436 I'm an RN-BSN. RNs can enter with an AS, BS, and even an MS. LPNs are just a certificate and often make the videos about trucking because the money is comparable. RN is clearly more money for the time. I also had a BS in Business Administration prior to nursing and was an operations manager for Fed-Ex Frieght. Wasn't much better there, still working 60 hours a week and responsible for everything.

I'm leaving truck driving early in 2024 but really because I been driving for almost 2 years since the day I exited the military so I want to go and see if there is something else for me
Go for it! There’s so many opportunities outside of trucking. I’m sure you will be fine. Good luck 👍🏾

Trucking is not a failing industry nothing gets done without trucks, If you’ve never had you’re own authority you’ll definitely have these types of opinions, yes there are high cost but higher reward if you know what you’re doing. I would never be an OTR company drive i do agree with that.

It's not the trucking industries fault you picked them and you're not home...weird energy
I got my CDL 02/2009 15 years ago and have been in the industry since.

Hey , can you do a review on kwik trip fuel hauling and Kenyan advantage I’m stuck on which one to choose pay wise
Back when I first started driving I thought over the road was cool then i realized that i can make more money been local or a casual driver like these drivers see a job opportunity they read the requirements it's up to he or she to not except that job but people still do you know what you signing up for before you fill out that application
I don't see him as complaining simply because he knows the value of his license.I agree with him totally.
I actually agree with a lot of what he stated in the video. Particularly from an OTR perspective. I don’t think everything he stated applied to the majority of drivers who aren’t OTR.
@@imanthonytv
OTR is subjective, but to me it should just be used to save up as much money as you can until you get a regional route with weekends off or a local job.
The industry and/or the economy is failing because we got idiots in the White House…simple as that! If you think you can’t handle trucking go back to 9-5 jobs or do something else. Trucking isn’t for everyone right now that’s completely fine it’s one of those things you won’t know until you really get behind the wheel it’s easy to get jaded especially if your with a bad company it’s different for everyone for all the horror stories there’s just as many success stories just gotta see for yourself

With these rates might as well go work local or factory job.
This dude is all over the map.
Facts 💯

Diabetic/ Obese , dont have access to a kitchen.
Diabetic and obese.....well you choose the wrong foods!
Theres healthy options !!!!!!!!

And fruit vendors on the streets, etc.......
Just gotta choose the right food.
And in the 10 hours that you're off duty, take at least 1 hour to do some pushups, walk or go for a jog , then get 7 hrs rest/sleep.
Local tends to be more physical work and makes it easier to have a social life.

Can anyone point me in the right direction I’m trying to get hired
