Today i dissasembled a 91mm victorinox, added and removed some tools from another one, and then I acid etched all the tools black and gave them a steel wash. Then peened everything back together. I gave it white plus scales with a pen and pin, and painted all items red. I also made a black/white leather beltsheath. Hope my dad will love it as his b-day present!

Hi Eyal, glad you enjoyed it 👍 I think Rovyvon have a learning curve to go through on tactical flashlights - yes, weird concept on the DIY SAK, people love to customise though.
Another great video Jon. The problem I have with the Alpaka product is the opening is less than the same sized product by Topo Designs. I measure the opening of the Topo Designs ‘Accessory Bag’ (micro-size) to be about 25mm wider than the Alpaka Zip Pouch-which at this small size, I consider to be significant. Agreed, the material used for the Alpaka product is waterproof and it has 2 zippered compartments, but the added utility of a wider opening (and lower price point) of the Topo Designs ‘Accessory Bag’ (micro) is a winner. Always appreciate your fine work. Thank you. 🙏🏻
Thanks for the feedback - Topo is simple but great - hard to get hold of sometimes - I think Alpaka have increased size of the opening on newer pouches.
The build it yourself SAK is actually great. I wonder if they will expand into other models. Either way, I want one even if the price is somewhat inflated.

Thank you, Jon, for another great video. I've looked at many EDC videos, on several channels, and I just wanted to let you know that for me, yours is the best! Happy Holidays and wishing you a very happy 2023!
As a light I kind of like the Ledlenser TT. But why are most flashlights nowadays black? When one need them (in the dark), they are hard to find. Old time pure aluminium ones are much easier to identify in a car or in the old backpack. Some starlight makes them be visible.
I have a tekto knife. Never seen them on a review before. I bought mine off some fancy site and it doesn’t have any blade steel specs on it but I like it. Nice to see it mentioned.
Great video, Jon! The problem I found with the Zip Pouch Pro is it becomes a challenge to use the inside as a wallet when the exterior pockets are filled with a pen / multi tool / flashlight.
FYI: Tekto was busted selling cheap Chinese knockoffs with their own branding on them (think Eafengrow) and charging 5 times the price. They were busted by an American UA-camr, DocP91B when one of their knives, which he showed on AliBaba, was included in the box and was passed off as Damascus. The Damascus was printed. Others have noted that their OTFs are pretty much rebranded CobraTech OTFs. I believe DocP found a bunch of no name, $20 versions of their knives on their site. Not too sure about this model, but I know there was a lot of fallout when they were exposed with the fake Damascus.

If you think the knife laws in UK is weird, you should look in Sweden. Here they just updated the law which make carrying (or storing in your car) ANY type of blade, no matter the size, on a public place can get you sentenced to prison for 6m-2y... This also includes anything which is not a blade but CAN be used in a way to harm people... For instance a screwdriver and such... It's ok to carry if you are at work and it's neccesary for that. But lets say you are a tradesman who goes to a restaurant or even the grocery store after your work with your knife still on you (or even storing it in your car) you directly qualify for a particulary severe "knife crime" which is 6m-2y in prison... This is of course to more easily be able to sentence criminals but the consequences for normal people is horrible... So now we can't carry anything sharp...
@@Probeionic Well, IF the police consider it to be used for harm then yes, possibly. It's wicked... And as I said, you can't ever store a blade inside a car if it's in a public place. And this law has been like this for years but the thing they've changed is what they interpret being a "severe" crime. So about everything in a public place is considered severe and thus will send you to prison...
You mentioned when talking about the box cutter that it would be illegal to carry "without good reason". Who is the one who determines whether or not you have good reason? Is this something that is up to the discretion of law officer or is this something that is more defined? just curious as an American who would have zero trouble carrying a box cutter in my pocket.
Jon - quick question, for the blade length do you measure the tip to the flat part (where the blade officially "ends") in a straight line or is this cutting edge length? I've never seen that clarified before.
My understanding is that blade length is from the tip to the forward most portion of the handle. I am not sure if it has been tested in the courts though as cutting edge is sometimes argued.
The only time I’ve ever had to test this was an officer held a credit card sized ID badge against the blade (touching the top of the handle). The blade from that point was the same length of the card/ID badge and I was free to go, taking the blade with me. I think if you were ever challenged, you’d probably have a similar experience. In the UK it’s a popular misconception that you can’t carry fixed blades or blades over the length stated in the law, you can, but in order to do so you just need to have “good reason”. I keep a knife on me to cut up apples and things, and not had an issue (despite the Opinel in question, strictly speaking, being a locking knife). Just make sure you are only carrying what you have a purpose for.
£60 for a utility knife? That is ridiculous especially when you consider a standard utility knife with the same blade costs about £5 or £10. Even more fancy folding versions are around £20
You can put all the items in the pouch you presented, instead of the rovivon. When you did put another one much smaller in the pouch then I was sure that this torch wasn’t the best choice for this video. Don’t get me wrong, it is a great torch, but it is completely off, compared to the other products.
