We watched this in my writing class and it is comedy gold. I had low expectations going into it but it is an absolute classic. Just the way it builds from “im worried about my grade” to “dude you failed 3/4s of your essays, left halfway through your final, and its the last day of school” is seamless. I love it

As a college student myself, I hear soooo many of my peers talking like this. There is so much help on campus, especially for writing papers, but they don't take it. College is way too damn expensive to slack off. If you don't want to work, don't be there. Give the rest of us more places to park!

Actual conversation I had with a student:
Student - "What can I do to pass your class?"
Me - "That's easy. Make sure you do your homework, come to class on time, ask questions in class if you are confused, and if you're still confused after class come see me during my office hours."
Student - "But the semester is over and it's to late to do that."
    Me - "Exactly."

I taught on the college level for eleven years. This is only a slight exaggeration of what happened every semester. One year, the first test yielded a reverse bell curve: students either flunked it or earned an "A." I asked the "A" students to write a brief paragraph about how they had prepared for the test, collected the paragraphs, and then printed them up on one sheet with no names attached to distribute to the whole class. The "F" students read through the paragraphs and began saying things like, "But that's a lot of work!" or "I wouldn't have time for [name of sport] practice if I did that!"

Had one student once that got below 50% on all exams and came to me after semester was over complaining that my lectures were terrible and unfair as were the exams (even though the class averages about 80%). I told him to watch the lectures on Khan academy and I would let him retake the final. I knew what would happen next... I never saw him again.

Students still be like this except they've swapped tracking the professors down to beg them at an inconvenient time to emailing them, their chair, and the dean at like 3am on a Saturday and being throughly upset&offended that they won't get a response until the following Monday morning. 🙄

OMG I am a senior (non traditional student) and I HAVE SEEN THIS. One guy I sat beside all quarter. I always sit in the front row. This particular class I was 5 minutes early and there was ONE seat left in the BACK row....oh boy.
All quarter this guy is sitting there looking at his lap as he texts back and forth with someone. First test comes along and I've got my arm around the answer sheet protecting it from him like a Brinks driver. ALL QUARTER this guy is "duh," "ummm," "dude," "hey bud, how do you do this".....
The last day before the final I'm waiting to ask the instructor a question and "dude" is in front on me.....He's asking for another two weeks so he can do ALL the homework that he was supposed to have done because......He's worried about passing.....
ARRRRRRGH The teacher gave it to him!!!!!! I always wondered if he did ONLY because he knew "dude" wasn't going to do any of it anyway?
Seven more weeks and I'm Magna Cum Laude. WOOO HOOOOO

Problem where I work is that as soon as someone yells loud enough then it seems everything gets turned around on you and you are the bad guy. Everyone today expects everything handed to them, and if you do not give them what they want they can ruin you because you have only told them what they did not want to hear. It is very sad but true!

Relating this concept to business strategy and what we have learned, many corporations function and operate but have no real idea what their strategy is. Much like the above mentioned student, they are clueless. They are left to scramble at some point to try to get a passing grade, or break even financially. This can leave the proverbial professor frustrated and unsure of how to help someone that is unwilling or unaware of how to help themselves. We must all take responsibility for our work.
