- Custom creatures are the lifeblood of this game for me!
What really distinguishes Rain World from other games is how insanely detailed every creature is, so I love when mods add even more creatures to interact with! :)
Creature mod 1 is "Scroungers" by "shrimb" (Snailcat Creator :D)!

i like the introduction of more mechanically intense creatures - i feel they'd pair well with mods that give the player more control - like the aiming and movement enchancing mods

The scroungers could be a different species from scavengers all together, and I suspect they go extinct exactly why Neanderthals went extinct. The normal scavengers were simply better, and after all the inbreeding between the two species some scavengers have retained the jumping ability. (Elite scavengers)
Also, the scroungers aggression would make them more likely to be killed.
Scavengers are simply smarter, stronger, better.

Apparently the aggression was something I forgot about, in Arena they are essentially always in fight mode...
If you spawn them during an normal campaign, they are supposedly far more tame! :)
So the apex lizard is basically just a red lizard…on steroids

Angel Lizard might be the most creative one.
Pole Lizard being just a faster pink kinda defeats the purpose of its tail, but I suppose it might get a pass.
Red Lizard that fires explosive spears is... meh.
Always nice to have more creatures, and just as nice to have them showcased in a video!
I wonder if the scroungers murdering you is because you're in arena mode? iirc scavengers are always hostile in arenas, regardless of reputation

They don't spawn naturally so I figured I would try them in arena, but I completely forgot all arena spawns are aggressive...

every creature is aggresive in arena lol. its why they were massacring you every time.
