Depends where you where you want to put in. The Rum River North Park would be hard if you're by yourself with a heavy fishing kayak because you have to carry a down some stairs. The central park has a nice slanted boat landing. And there are some boat landings South of the Central Park as well all the way down to the Anoka county fairgrounds boat launch there as well. There's another boat launch that I know of up in Cambridge area on the Rum River as well. Good luck fishing! 👍😊
And also be careful if you're not experienced kayaking and you're going fishing. The Rum River does have a current. When the water is low there's plenty of rocks as well. Be safe!
Been Thinking of Getting a fishing Kayak and trying this river out. Where would be a good place to launch from for a inexperienced kayaker?
