I went from 5 peaches the first fruiting year to 50 peaches the next year to 250 peaches the year after that, from just a single “Belle of Georgia” peach tree. My “May Gold” and “Red Haven” are going to fruit, but they got wrecked by deer a couple years ago so I hope they just skip the 5 fruit and go straight to 50. 😊
Keep the tags lose or they girdle the branch..What do you spray your peach trees with for peach tree borers? And what you use for fertilizer? good job..
Before I planned my trees, I put about a one foot layer of horse manure and mixed it in to the soil. So far I haven't really done anything as far as fertilizer. If you want, you can use organic premixed fruit tree fertilizer from your local store or nursery.
Yes, I prune for the open center, that has more potential to grow new shoots on over wood, because of more sunlight that is able to penetrate into the tree. It is not good to leave your trees unprinted after always pruning them because they will get overgrown with vertical shoots and it will be too hard to get them back to where they were
I had an apricot that died also. Twice. And what's funny is now the rootstock is coming back again. Had two peach trees that died last year after being just beautiful😢
If you have rootstock coming up, you can graft to it when you get some scion wood from peaches that you like and that do well here. Frost peaches are really good for our climate.
its a perfect time to get you fruit trees right now!👍
Good job 👏 👍
Amazing orchard. Really well kept and beautiful to look at. Do you spray copper or other fungicides for leaf curl.
Thank you! Yes I do spray copper at leaf fall and during dormancy, also at bud swell.

Yeah, the bigger the tree gets the the more fruiting wood it can support with a stronger root system, so there is more potential
I think out of all the ones i have the frost peach is the most resistant to diseases and for the most part consistently productive

Thanks bro
Hi do you prun your peaches and syriaca plum trees with open center ? How often to prune older than 5 y fruit trees?

since the tree is planted in the open, how do you protect it against leaf curl?
Hi sim2500. I sray copper at bud swell, like right now then after flowering and in the fall at half leaf fall and at full leaf fall.

Yes, because of the peaches being early bloomers, the returning frost can do damage to them
