Thanks for the video. Does the shell separate from the walkway on this unit? In addition, is the sound decoder programmable, or is it stuck being an Alco?
Nice one James, when the Central Vermont Railroad was still in service they had a lot of RS3’s Now they are likely scraped or with other railroads or museums. Atlas has the RS1 coming soon and I can’t wait to review it as it will be Green Mountain 405.
I missed these but got a gp20 from Broadway instead. Are you going to do the new autoracks from walthers when they come as well? Im still on the fence...athearns are way detailed so idk if the walthers ones coming would be an eye sore next to the genesis
Great Video James! If I were to purchase this locomotive, I would of replace the plastic/nylon gear assembly with steel ones. Otherwise, that model is a work horse.
HELLO JAMES ITS IS RANDY AND I LIKE U VIDEO IS COOL THANKS JAMES FRIENDS RANDY AND BACHMANN ALCO RS-3 W/TCS SOUND VALUE DECODER HO SCALE IS COOL JAMES THANKS RANDY
I always use your reviews before I buy. You do a great service for the hobby. Thanks!
I still trying to get a Bachmann DCC Alco RS-3 Southern 2735 and awesome review James love your videos keep up the good work
Nice Video , I am liking Bachmann more these days , The wow sound is definitely
making them better.
Bachmann is heading in the right direction.
TCS decoders always sound so good!
great video happy Thanksgiving
That sound decoder is amazing
I'm impressed. Add some MU cables at either end you have a very nice model. Hope that Bachman does that model in Missouri Pacific.
And that startup sounds badass
Nice, like Bachmann products .enjoyed the review.

Very nice 'Air pop-off" at 4:59 ;-)
Awesome review. I really like the TCS sound value decoder more than the Soundtraxx sound value decoders.

TCS Lite sounds better than Tsanami Lite!
Did you catch the two pane window on the right side and a three pane window on the leftside of the cab?
Can't wait to see the GP35
Pretty nice.. Bachmann makes some very reliable models now..
Would you say bachmanns 2-8-0s are just as good as their spectrum line?
Great Video James! If I were to purchase this locomotive, I would of replace the plastic/nylon gear assembly with steel ones. Otherwise, that model is a work horse.
Great job as usual! In your opinion is the TCS Econo sound and/or run better than the Soundtraxx Econo? Thanks.
Yes!
That is a nice loco James at a great price GOD BLESS STAY SAFE LOVE YOUR VIDEOS;-)
I just got a Bachmann myself, a non-sound SD40-2.
This looks like they did a little better job with the RS-3.
People will always find something to complain about in every model you review, anyway, good video!
I can no longer see the words “separately applied grab irons” without hearing your voice saying it.
Nice engine!
Good review. Decoder sounds good also. But I'll wait for a better quality brand.

I got myself one, but is Pennsylvania
🤔umm.. Athearn ready to run with a lot of fine detail with DCC and sound for 189.00 Or a bachman with no detail for 209.00 that's a tough one.
