    So beautiful! I love Chinese Asters I did beautiful pink ones this year! But next year I will do a wide verity! Thank you for this video! My asters did good!

    I've grown asters for the last couple of years and I personally think they are greatly underrated. I love asters and I wrote down a couple of the ones you showed to add to my collection for next year. Great video!

    I’m trying again with these beauties! Have failed twice but refuse to give up because they are so beautiful! I need a dahlia substitute (also trying to grow heirloom chrysanthemum) for my super humid and hot climate! Your flowers made me smile 😊 have a wonderful day 🌺

      My dahlias are blooming but definitely struggling with the humidity right now! I’m hoping it cools down soon.

    I've always pronounced it (chamois) shammy. Like the leather cloths. Tower silver aster is a must have in my garden.

      I think Bethany is pronouncing it the French way. I too learn it as shammy but have been corrected many times. 🤷🏻‍♀️

      @@ChicagoGardener it’s the easiest way to sow seeds-No hardening off, no animals eating your seeds or getting washed away, and you can leave town and don’t have to worry about watering! 😁

      @@newt52864 oh that’s great! I’ve even winter sown packets of flower mix’s that have flowers that bloom at different times, like a wildflower mix, a mix for wet areas or dry areas

    I had some China Asters in my garden last year and one popped up in my garden this spring, what a nice surprise! So I decided to grow some more from seed and planted them by the surprise aster but bugs ate them 😢the one that came up on it’s own is doing great!

    Will the asters come back next year if you leave them in ground? I'm in Ontario zone 5b. I think I heard that somewhere.

      They are annuals so it might be reseeding from the previous years plants if you let the seeds fall on the ground!

    I have trouble getting anything but the purple china aster to germinate. Any suggestions?

      @ChicagoGardener johnnys. They were new seeds. The purple germinate but the apricot don't. 2 yrs in a row.

    I bought a packet of China Aster seed mix at my local garden store and they never germinated. I'll try again next year, but I'm still butthurt about my balcony garden being China Aster-less at the mo'.
