I tried today but the strings are super bunchy and not straight like yours 😔 I’m assuming it’s the fabric in them. Did you use jeans that are 100% cotton?
As a former 80's metal band member I can say that you sort of got it right. The way we used to do it was #1 start with a pair of jeans that already started to fray in the knees, or at the very least were very worn thin. #2 find a spot where the fraying has started or start it yourself by rubbing your keys or something abrasive across it (I did this in class in college while wearing them, I don't recommend that!). This would almost always produce those fine white strings that are the hallmark of this look. The CHEESE GRATER is a great idea and will get you going on the right path just make sure you aren't wearing them when you use it! Another trick would be to use one of those wire brush attachments for drills or one of those brushes made for cleaning barbecue grills or the metal toothbrush type you can get at harbor freight. Always make sure to go horizontal. Additionally #3 razor cutting along the seams at intervals of an inch or so and then washing the jeans tended to give a nice shredded look as well. Rock on ,\m/
My ripped jeans from winners got too ripped, they pretty much were just shorts with denim leg warmers. So I have $6 jeans and will be doing this to replace my old ones! This video helps a lot
use my dislike button as a I just ruined my favorite pair of jean because I forget I had absolutely zero crafting skills and now my moms mad because I need new jeans but we are in quarantine button!
Has anyone tried to make a pair of DIY Ripped Jeans?
@Nj J Nice! Did you do it yourself?
@Nj J Nice I bet those look great!

I’ve always wanted to look like I got beat up in a side alley. The rips would make me look real distinguished!

Its really nice ☺️
Just wash them a few times. Way quicker
Thanks for this
I have several pairs of these jeans but ngl they make me anxious when washing lmao
You could gently hand wash them. Like it's a pain but it wont really get damamged like in the wash
A late reply perhaps but I'd recommend a washing bag for any clothes you're worried about :) hepls me a lot with dress shirts and undergarments.

use my dislike button as a I just ruined my favorite pair of jean because I forget I had absolutely zero crafting skills and now my moms mad because I need new jeans but we are in quarantine button!
But why?
I genuinely think this is the worst tutorial on how to rip jeans. How tf am I suppose to get the safety pen and idk?, it’s so confusing
Ripped Jeans do not look good .. it just looks like you cant afford new Jeans very tacky
Ok boomer
@@lanieloading9833 I'm not a boomer but what's the point of wearing Jean's if 90 percent of them are missing 😂
ok boomer
@@avaclairekrause6733 a boomer is not a thing but sorry if you cant face the truth that Jeans look tacky if they have arm length holes in them.
@@avaclairekrause6733 it takes very little to simply buy a regular pair of Jeans that look perfectly fine 😂😂😂😂
