What if we REBOOTED Pokemon?

I always felt like the weird lore inconsistencies easily warranted a reboot. Keep most of it the same but just fix the little things

You could catch a Magikarp in Ruby and transfer it all the way to gen 8 right now... But you couldn't do the same with, say, a Nosepass or a Voltorb! They'd just be stuck eternally in imprisonment inside pokémon home, unable to go anywhere and just hope that they will get added in the next DLC.

Pokemon is a fantastic IP, and I grew up on the games, show, and merch.
Nowedays, I just can't get into the Pokemon games, the outdated design philosophies of the early generations haven't really grown or evolved with the franchise as much as I would like.

I really hate when people say “outdated” since it ignores everyone that still likes the design elements.

@@myway24454 I mean, why does it discount them? Stranger Things has an outdated design, for example, as it's explicitly designed not just in the 80's setting but also in 80's design philosophies.
People may enjoy outdated design, but it's odd that games being released in modern times have never tried to update.

You hit the nail on the head at the end when you said "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". Pokemon I feel stays extremely formulaic because it sells games. Looking at how spin off pokemon games performed in the past, it is obvious to see that main series games always perform extremely well compared to the spin offs. In the future, my fear is if pokemon legends arceus doesn't perform well in the market for whatever reason, we'll just have to accept that pokemon are going to be making more or less the same game. Plus i also feel like Pokemon is to deep into everything to even consider a reeboot

Yeah, right now, Pokemon is marching ahead with whatever plans they have for the future, there is absolutely no way they would consider a reboot for a good while... unless something goes REALLY wrong. But I don't think the games they are making are "bad" enough to have that something go wrong.

@@RadioactiveMagicGames And then BDSP and SV released completely broken.
The SV isn't bad in mechanical design, and it actually has a bit of environmental story telling. Not that you'll be able to notice it because of how badly it runs and how bad it looks on the same console that has BotW, TotK, Xenoblade3, and so on.
The big problems with SV are in visual design and performance. How can it justify running like molasses while looking like tar on cardboard when the other titles look better _and_ run better?

I like that you address that you have nitty gritty conceptualizations, as well as broad ones. Clearly showing the amount of work and creativity that went into your ideas but also not putting too much pressure on yourself as if you were actually designing the real game yourself. The series is totally dripping with passion.

Oh the days when you could use the advance and trade your Pokémon taht you’ve built a connection with to each game. Now I can’t even get my Mudkip from the sapphire remake to the newer games
