    I’ve lost 102 lbs in the last year and a half after being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. Berberine is part of my plan along with low carb, fasting, acv and lifting weights - nir light, vibraplate, hypnosis, etc 😅 but it’s been easy this time! It’s still coming off and I’ve never been on other meds for type 2, plus A1C is coming down.

    I have been on Berberine since Jan. Off and on intermittent fasting, watching my carbs, trying not to eat late at night. I am down 12 pounds. Have not lost weight like this since in my 20s. It works slow but it works. When I stick to my IF, low carb, no late night snacking and Berberine that is when the weight drops faster. No side effects for me. Good luck all!

      Same. I've had some issues with hormones and I've come the conclusion I'm IR and I have PCOS (but doctors have been failing me with help of hormones and such). I also think my body is just more sensitive to carbs. I have lowered my carbs, take many supplements including berberine since April and I've lost 10-12lbs. I don't fast anymore because it stresses me out more, unfortunatley. I have found over the last few weeks I'm fuller after smaller meals than I use to be.

      Consider going on the Keto diet, if you want to lose weight faster. Eliminate sugar, and keep your carb intake at thirty grams a day or lower. I lost forty pounds last year, and at age 65, I am now down to the weight I was at in my 20s. I feel extraordinarily better! I am not doing Keto now, but I'm taking Berberine daily, and maintaining my lower weight with ZERO struggle or deprivation. If I start gaining weight at some point, I'll just go back to full Keto, and keep Berberine in the plan. Be well, and prosper!

      @@cherrellsumbler85 the chromium I’ve run past my health provider, she’s looking to add it, but I must be careful because of other meds, and illnesses I have..always consult your doc!
      I am NOT allowed to start the berberine, until we get my liver checked a bit better, and since berberine has a poor absorption rate,and it must go through the liver, we’re holding off until I can get confirmation of what’s going on in my liver,which the appt is in a few weeks! I’m glad I just didn’t start taking it! I do take a collagen supplement for joint support/inflammation, and it’s helped tremendously, along with the NAC, which supports a healthy liver. So! Once I get the all clear- I’ll add the berberine! I’m excited, but I guess it’s not the greatest thing for you if you have liver issues,or blood pressure problems..
      If I come across any excellent plant based products, I’ll come back here to let you know! But I’ve found, that a high protein, high veggie, low carb diet(I don’t deny myself,I just eat smaller portions of carbs,and a bit more of protein, and fill up on the veggies! I cut out ALOT of sugar, and soda.( I will have a can here n there,but I don’t drink the whole thing and I add lots of ice! It’s funny how we can trick our brains! And here’s a great tip I learned to eat your meal..go around your plate, eat your meat,or veggies- FIRST! Then, leave your carbs on the plate for last. By the time you go to eat your carbs, you’ll already start feeling full! You won’t even finish your rice,or potatoes,or whatever carb might be on your plate! It works!! (I know you don’t eat meat,but maybe that can still help! ) and for exercise, I try to at least get a walk in. Wow. An entire video on how to use berberine correctly, and it does not actually mention how to take it. Incredible. Is it lipophilic? Is it to be taken before food, with food, after food or on an empty stomach? Personally, I do know the answers to those questions, but seriously, dude! If you make a video called "How to use it CORRECTLY" that would be the questions I would want answered most of all, because if I am looking for a video on HOW to use it, I probably already know why I want to use it (and its benefits).

      @crystaldiaz4764 I don't know what "gatekeeping" is, but I do know that it's entirely reasonable to expect to learn how to take berberine from at video entitled "How to use berberine correctly". Nothing I said is a personal insult, it's the definition of "constructive criticism": you don't just spout why something is crap, you actually show how to correct the problem, which is precisely what I did.
      Had the video been called "What is Berberine" my criticism might not necessarily be considered valid. But when a video called "How to..." does not actually tell you "how" - well, you know it fails in a major way.

      Strong healthy gut bacteria can withstand the supplement. In Europe, the latest studies tell us to aim for around 30 different plants a week (veg, fruit, grains, seeds, spices, herbs etc) which is doable if you start a meal with a mixed salad or mixed veg soup (you can freeze soup portions) and shop “the rainbow” of fruit and veg. Lentils and certain healthy grains like quinoa are great in stews, fresh herbs you can pop in a mug of water on the counter and just add them to as many things as possible over the week. It becomes a fun game to see how much you can put in one dish 😊

    Thank you for the valuable information. I have lost 104lbs over the past 19 months by combining intermittent fasting, weight lifting and a whole food, low carb diet. Now that I’m getting close to my goal weight, it is getting a little more difficult to loose it so I am considering taking berberine as an additional help. My question here is: if I split the dose into 2 (morning and evening as recommended) would that break my fast? I usually fast from 8pm - 6pm of the following day.

Just k ow that it’s normal to hate meat after a few weeks but once you get off the food addiction you will start to look forward to the meat. You have to do it for 6 weeks to really give it an honest try. The best part is that it gives you freedom from food cravings. They go away completely and you barely think about food. • @betweenyellowan_dred
      @betweenyellowan_dred Рік тому +12

      Yeah you sound like you need to occasionally eat slightly more than maintenance calories so your metabolism doesn't slow down. Mix it up a bit. Some people include some complex carbs on some days they mix it up. Predominantly eliminate carbs but it's called carb cycling as a strategic carb intake for prevention of a slowed metabolism. Anyone over 50 should try to increase protein intake by twenty percent. Oh and be certain to have electrolytes on hand. Potassium, magnesium, and sodium preferably Himalayan salt for trace minerals. Especially if you ever had a racing heart while fasting. The body holds onto weight if you're not sleeping. I used to have that issue. Non fortified nutritional yeast has b1 that I add to scrambled eggs or hamburger. Works really well for me. You want the non fortified type because the synthetic fortified is more of a detriment than a help. Tart cherry juice works well for me but that's buku cash so I don't use it.
