Interesting review, but, if you are going to spend the money anyway, and I did, I decided to amp it up, and go for max bangs per buck. Samsung 980 PRO 1TB M2 NVMe drive, which came from the local pc store, and a Simplecom SE509 (or similar) aluminium housing, also from a local pc store. 980 PRO T is rated at 7000 MB/sec read and 5000 MB/sec write. These are purely regular mnfr rated numbers, but content transfers are completed in the real world typically between 3000 and 3500 MB/sec using USB C transfer ports, which is respectable. If you want to take this solution into the bath to play with, or run over it with your SUV, do not buy this solution, you will break it. Otherwise, it works well, approximately the size and weight of a modern chunky car key, maybe even smaller and lighter, made of aluminium, and with speed to burn. It is more difficult to check actual write speeds, but, stands to reason, it will resolve any out of camera requirements, the choke point would more likely be the camera. You will need to spend 2-3 minutes with a screwdriver, to get the M2 drive into the drive case, but no biggie. Pricing seems to be reasonable, speed is a blinder, read or write, durability is good, providing you are in regular human habitation environment. Just saying, there ccould be a plan B.

I bought 2, and 2 of them died within 3 months of light usage. I used them maybe 7 times to save and read my archived files. Unstable and unusable. It's dead now. I bought 2 lemons 🍋 at the same time??????
Right now, it's about a 15 € difference (for 2 TB, depending on color of choice). From what I read, the Shield one uses more modern chips (in terms of Nanometer structure / power consumption) and keeps up sequential transfer write speeds better after the internal buffer has been filled.

Just got a heck of a deal on this drive, and I'm. Only doing it for temporary storage from my old 1TB HDD that is full of music movies and TV shows.. Until I csn get a proper raid drive. My question is how should I go about transferring those files. Obviously not all at once but is there a limit I should watch out for when transferring, say maybe 250gb a time? Or should I go lower?

Can i use this SAMSUNG T7 SHIELD SSD as primary drive to my macbook air 2015?
My macbook is only 128gb while my external ssd drive is 1TB
It’s great and all until the SDD starts underperforming with crushing speeds of 2mbps.
t7 and t7 shield price differencce is 30 euros. Is it worth it?
Right now, it's about a 15 € difference (for 2 TB, depending on color of choice). From what I read, the Shield one uses more modern chips (in terms of Nanometer structure / power consumption) and keeps up sequential transfer write speeds better after the internal buffer has been filled.
When first SSDs came out, people tested their durability by playing golf with them and they survived... so im not sute whats the point here
its water proof and dust proof.
Well, yes, all these "drop tests" are... questionable...

hey, can you maybe help me with this question - does samsung t7 shield work as expected when connected to an android/iphone with password protection on, or does the password protection need to be removed in order to be connected to and files shown on an android/iphone?
@@namratat3384 to my knowledge and experience on iOS and iOS based devices, you can see that the password protected files are there but not able to be opened, however it can still be written to unencrypted.
Just got one. 2tb on sale on Amazon
Is it compatible with Samsung Crystal 4k smart TV?
