Hi guys, keep in mind this the not the radio edit (shorter version) but the one from Grover's "Wineligh" album, which is basically the same, only the sax solo in the middle of the tune (where this transcription starts) is cut out there. Fave Grover album - great question! I just cant put anything above 'Live at the Bijou'. The chops, the band, its all there. Paradise and A Secret Place a close 2nd and 3rd.
I love this song so much. The sax and steel drum solo are such classic solos

By the way, I love this complete band! But just to show he IS human too, notice how Steve Gadd has a click of his sticks accidentally coming together around 1:45. Nowadays, they always would have edited that one out me thinks

Tried to play along on clarinet but it sounds way to high unfortunately :/ guess I'll have to get a tenor then xD

It'll work on bass clarinet, since it can play those lower notes.

I think the key signature is wrong. I believe it's being played in F Minor with 4 flats. I playing along with bass and the chords for G minor listed do not work. I want to purchase transcript so please let me know if I'm wrong.
Hi Roy, no you're absolutely right about that! It's in Fminor concert key. But this is the Bb-transposition part, as it is the tenor saxophone that is transcribed here, and the tenor is a Bb-transposing instrument. So the C on a tenor, sounds like a Bb in your bas. That's why this is all notated one tone to high.

@@SharpElevenMusic thanks so much for clarifying that for me. I introduced this song to a band I'm in and I'm trying to get us play it as close as possible to the original. ( i had a friend transpose the Pan part which, I'm trying to learn that as well. Robert Greenidge is so awesome. I hope to make a track and play the bass and then switch to pan, then back.) I already purchased lead sheet in Fm and then saw your transcription video. I was in Musicnotes ready to check out then saw it was in Gm. I just needed to know that your transcription for sax would match what we already have. I can edit the chord notations. Transposing of your transcription doesn't appear to be available. thanks

Anybody else remember the version of this where it was just 1 sax solo, and no steelpan? It completely disappeared. Mandela effect level crap right there.
