!! EDIT FOR NEW TW (1/2): Just to emphasize the title, this video is about Brindleface's death. Specifically, the moments leading up to her murder at Tigerstar's hands (err, claws). This PMV involves her pleading for her life with him, him killing her, and the grief that takes over ThunderClan after that. Please keep that in mind when watching. !!

!! EDIT FOR NEW TW (2/2): Someone commented (though I think it is deleted now) that I should specify more about the song itself, in case that is triggering for anyone. The story of this song, from the album Preacher's Daughter (a concept album where the characters and events are entirely fictional), is of a woman begging a man not to hurt her, and screaming for him to stop (multiple times) when he does. It is implied that this character is murdered in this song. Her voice is quiet and trembling throughout the song, until the end where she screams. It's a scary song to listen to. Again, all of this is fictional, but in case the idea of hearing that in music form frightens you, do not watch this video !!

… Well, this is a different tone that what I usually do! But I was listening to Ethel Cain and thinking about warrior cats… and this came to mind. I was looking for a shorter-term project to work on, and this was perfect! Not enough Brindleface content out there, IMO.
Also, the bit at the end with Ashpaw - I know canonically the whole drama later is more about his obsession with Squirrel, and he doesn’t really care about Bramble at all… BUT, I feel like everyone in Arc 1 is so freaked out about Bramble’s likeness with Tigerstar (even when Bramble’s a BABY), and I feel like that energy would probably reach and plague the mind of a grieving Ashpaw. It’s another reason for him to dislike the guy alongside what happens later in the series with his jealousy and obsession.
EDIT: Thank you to @_loststorm_ for pointing out that Ashfur DOES bring up Tigerstar's murder of Brindleface, and the connection to Brambleclaw, when talking to Squirrelflight! It DID reach and plague his mind!

augh what really gets me abt Tiger killing Brindle is just.... they were literally together in the nursery and apprentices' den. They grew up together, they trained together, Brindleface KNEW this guy. She used to look up to him. There's even a scene in Bluestar's Prophecy where Blue is talking to Whitestorm and is like "lol remember when you and Tiger were kits and Frost & Brindle used to follow you around all the time? that was cute" like they GOT ALONG ONCEEE and she could've been anyone, too. Tiger could've killed anybody for that rabbit trail, but she just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. I wonder if he would've preferred it be someone else. I'm in distress

YEAH like. just the sliiightest twinge. not that he regretted it, not that he thought about it much, but just… mmm do you think it bothered him just a LITTLE. the teeniest bit. did she linger in his mind more than the others
@@axelf9947 nah prob not. the guy did make a deal with scourge to basically kill everyone in the forest so. nope.
He felt she deserved her death for not being on guard when he caught her by surprise. It’s how it justifies it. She was weak in his eyes for that one moment and so her life was forfit because he hated the weak. But in reality, it is hardly fair to justify one’s whole life based off of one moment she was caught off guard. By that logic, Fireheart should have killed Tigerclaw off when he defeated him in Bluestar’s den. Tigerclaw likely saw Fireheart as weak for showing mercy and would never do the same for Brindleface.
considering tiger will literally kill anyone to get his way, i really doubt he cared if it was brindle or not.
Brindleface is the most Underrated Queen in Warriors, she took in the child of two kittypets with no discrimination towards him or his uncle whatsoever.
The implications that this is the reason Ashfur hates Brambleclaw is something I've never thought of before

Ashfur actually mentions the tiger bramble thing when Squirrelflight rejects him! It's not really brought up again, but it's such a missed opportunity
Oh my gosh, you're right! 😱I went digging on the wiki, and through my copies of the books - it's in Sunset on pg. 62-63. Thank you so much for pointing that out! Definitely a missed opportunity for the Erins to not have brought it up more.
@@gak_illustrates so many interesting things to explore with them! like Ashfur literally sent Sparkpelt to get mauled by dogs when he was possessing bramble, but somehow the connection with Brindleface is never brought up hjkjh
@@_loststorm_another missed opportunity was Squirrelflight could’ve compared “Bramblestar” to his father when he started being all tyrannical, which would’ve upset Ashfur, considering what happened to Brindleface.
God, the sense of DREAD watching Tigerstar circle around Brindle, it’s actually uncomfortable to watch. Love to see some obscure and somewhat overlooked background characters in Warriors get love.
I want a special edition from Brindleface's pov. Something like Brindleface's trust, where it displays Brindleface being like nervous about seeing Tiger before he kills her, remembering some tid bits of their apprenticeships together and thinking maybe she should've known he'd be like this or something. Then her reaction to Ashfur's mayhem, and her (unfortunately) seeing Tiger's wrath in Ash and maybe being disappointed in her son for how he turned out. But then also blaming herself for dying when she did, and Ash and Fern having to become warriors without her physically there (Whitestorm too). Maybe we'd get insight into her thoughts on Dust and Fern, since he's her little brother and Fern's her little girl. I've always loved Brindle so much and wish we got more of her before she died.
This amv is so cool! I love the art and concept of Ashpaws grief over his mother Brindleface. As Tigerstar did murder her to give a dog pack, the taste of her blood. It would make sense why Ashpaw wouldn't like Brambleclaw later on as he is the son of Tigerstar.
This video really makes you think about how incredibly horrific Brindle's death was. Tigerstar killed her to use as food for dogs so they'd get a taste for cats. Like, thats incredibly messed up (obv all his other actions were too), and it would be interesting to see an AU version of TPB where they really acknowledge the horrific nature of the events taking place. This is a phenomenal pmv though, the art is stunning and the song choice is brilliant. Amazing job!

THIS IS SO GOOD?!?!?!? HELLO?!??! First off Brindleface content! (yippie!!) And eueghehgue the thing with the rabbit at the start just implanted a rabbit motif onto Brindle in this video into my brain?? Brindleface's death in the books is honestly pretty horrifying, and for some reason I never really took in what she would've felt emotionally but then this PMV!!! And the COLORS omg.... I am a sucker for these kind of restricted palettes.

This is so good! I’ve longed to see an animation about this! When people hear “brindleface” all they normally think is “oh yeah, she’s was eaten by dogs” but I think I saw another comment saying this, but she used to follow tiger around and enjoyed his company as an apprentice! Ashfur also held this against tiger, I forget which book, but I’m pretty sure that at some point he mentions how tigerstar killed his mother. You did a wonderful job with the animation too! 🤌🏽👌👏🏻💋❤️

Who knows how Tigerclaw/star killed her, did he kill her right away, or did he toy with her first?
The idea of him toying with her would be more interesting for animators or artists to depict and play around with, but it was likely that he killed her without her realising and without her knowing anything. I haven't read the books in a long time so I'm not sure, but based on memory I don't remember Tigerstar having any wounds or anything. So she probably didn't fight back. Ambushing her or her freezing up with shock is most likely. Which is sad. I imagine she'd put up a very good fight otherwise.

Brindleface es de mis personajes favoritos y de verdad me sorprende que no haya más contenido de ella, tiene mucho material. Primero, fue una excelente madre adoptiva de cloudtail, incluso en su ceremonia de guerrero lo glorifico de manera orgullosa cuando nadie mas lo hacia y peleaba con quienes creian que se había escapado por propia cuenta. Además de darle a Firestar la vida de amor maternal por que ella lucho protegiendo a sus hijos.

I am a person who loves warrior cats- but only reads the comic books and have seen the into the wild animation on this platform- and I never knew who Tiger’Star killed that Ravenpaw saw- THIS MAKES SO MUCH SENSE NOW! AND ITS GORGEOUS? HOW?!
this video is after the first book when tigerstar kills brindleface, ash and fernpaws mother, as a lure for the dog pack. What ravenpaw witnesses in the first book is tigerclaw murdering redtail, the current thunderclan deputy. I see how this could have been confused! Happy reading
