  • This is a short video showing a Vaillant Turbomax, that on arrival had not worked for 6 weeks or more. I took the challenge and began to go thru a general service / diagnosis of what the probable causes could be, with the years of experience of these boilers. In the video it shows comprehensive tests that I carried out inc Electrode and expansion vessel and many visual checks that may or may not have been Spoken in the video for safety sake. You should ONLY work on Gas Appliances if You ARE GAS-SAFE registered it is against the Law to work on one if you are not A competent person.

    Nice to see a fellow repair man at work, methodical and logical.
    I feel like we are a dyeing breed these days, what with most one man bands just slinging in new boilers all the time and most people on monthly cover.

    Nice one , the Turbomax and Ecomax are the best boilers that Vaillant ever produced in my opinion , I still work on dozens of these every year and they are pretty bullet proof.......
    Cheers.....👍

      Totally agree with you there bud, I had a turbomax 25 years, rock solid performance. The last six years I've had the Ecotec Plus 837 and already gone through 4 water pressure sensors, 1 expansion tank, 3 divertor valves and now a blocked main heat exchanger. 😬

    Nice always gives one a sense of satisfaction when you get a boiler going thats been off for 6 weeks or 6 engineers have already looked at. What was the burn mark on the electrical casing or did i miss that bit.

    sir I have a question, this aqua signal ignites the gas boiler but is it a continous signal or just a one time ? the reason i am asking this is , i am doing a project and i have connected a electric heater to heat water but i dont want to run both heaters at same time and want to save my gas money so i figured if i just block this aqua signal , i can stop gas boiler from igniting ! so please if you reply it will be a huge help ! thanks in advance!!

    Hi, my boiler is vaillant vuw 260 . The problem is that if the chimney led flashing more than 90 seconds after it doesn't start, just running the pump forever. Any idea why?
    Thank you!

    I have a turbomax. Is it normal when heating on it fires up, runs then stops for a while then does again? When flame not on pump is still running? It's always done this since I lived here 7years?

    What is your view on a viallant turbomax combi compared to the new condensing boilers?

    • @drpipe
      @drpipe  5 років тому

      m Mack I actually really like the Turbo max. Energy wise very little in it dependant on Temp used. A rated boilers are only A rated at 55 degrees + 10 and loose rating rapidly after that .. so in essence unless your customers has ufh then highly likely the temps going up to 65-70 ! Thanks for watching

  • @gasfitter78
    @gasfitter78 5 років тому +1

    Great video. But one thing wouldn't it been easier to remove the pump after all you have drained the boiler.

    • @drpipe
      @drpipe  5 років тому

      gasfitter78 Nooo .. always try to disturb the least amount of fittings or components when doing work within repairs.. reason being higher risk of other leaks issues etc. If however the plan doesn’t go well then yes by all means remove items to create better working environment. For instance sometimes working under a sink I will take the door off especially if it’s quick release ! In this case came out super easy ! Thanks for watching.
