If I know Mel Brooks and Buck Henry, the cabbie wearing a hat that advertises the cab company's name ("Bacon") means something, I just don't know what. I grew up in DC when this show was on the air. We had a couple big cab companies....Diamond and Yellow, for example, so I'm stumped what "Bacon" refers to.
KAOS may have a better benefits package, but that's just because of their tax situation. As I recall one year they made 65 million before taxes, and after taxes 65 million.
Would you believe that Ed Platt was the TV 🕵️♂️ who was more like his Chief off screen as well? In a 1966 interview, Platt described his Chief in a first name basis. This month also commemorated the forty seventh year since 'our chief' took his own life back in 1974. This was due to financial difficulties and depression. Im sorry about this story from the Get Smart website. Us fans are still missing all the departed TV spies from this show. We all appreciate the way you've all drawn us viewers. Hail to the Chief!
This was how my dad, the big shot Navy Captain, and I bonded. It was his favorite show. It still holds up well - I get more of the jokes! The HR jokes are priceless. Thanks for the post.
I remember when ever I cut class, we would run to see "Get Smart", I would enjoy it as well as "Green Acres". Then, another show where the banker's famous quote was ;" I would lie, steal, cheat for you, Mr. Clampett"! Those were real Clean, comedic shows. That's why they're still shown in reruns.
Tv Is Soo Unemployed Now! This Show Was A Classic! Maxwell Smart, and agent 99 Chief too just too funny Bernie Kopell as Siegfried hilarious! Boy I Wish We Still Had Great Entertainment Like This Again! The 60s and 70s Were Great!
Wonder how many clips they have that we haven't seen. I have all the GS on my Computer and I'm constantly seing different clips then what's in the show. Rather watch 60s 70s shows than Anything on now. Must be why I Shut the Dish Off, Holly Weird Freaks have taken over.
Exactly! All those girls with boyish figures in trousers and short haircuts, drinking liquor from teacups in their speakeasies and dancing the Charleston!
I loved the union negotiations. Some of them are very familiar to me. Overtime and double time on weekends and health and safety provisions are very familiar. Go, Max!
So who do i send the money to 33? On your contract? Are you sure your name isn't 33? because the deal was for 33 to get the prize!!! Would you like it in a Gold bar 99.9 percent pure? That answer is GOLDEN!
This humor was from a time and place in America when unions, collective bargaining and strikes were so commonplace that you could actually make running jokes about it and a wide audience could relate and laugh. If SNL did this today, no one would “get it”.
not. funny😢😢😢
They are so crazy it is refreshing 😂🤸♀️

Man, I remember that!
Very forward-thinking of them. Long before Amazon, Facebook...
They're a Delaware corporation for taxation purposes.
comparing conditions with KAOS.
HR means human resources not human relations

Barbara Feldon.😊
Hey hey
Such great writing. I loved that show.
Whenever I watch these shows I find myself asking the same question : Why the comedy of today is about nothing but filth ?!
Because that's all you watch?
@@ObservantHistorian it's better than the crap that's on now
Nour Mourad Becayse you’re a fucking moron.
not only are the jokes not funny but all shows are now pushing the homosexuallll agenda, there is no body normal on tv, its a real cesspool
@Clark Gable Also, sex sells, too. Nine movies out of ten have @ least one sex scene in it.
I know the stock answer is It's classified information, but why are we not told Agent 99's real name when we know Agent 86 is Maxwell Smart?
Shoot, you're right
This is how they really work in the federal government.
Wouldn’t be surprised 😂
Who would've thought in 10 years Chief would be able to fire Max on the spot just for mentioning Union.
This show is so well produced, that it still works today. A real gem.
Max: "Bingo parties??!! I didn't know Kaos was religious?!" Hahahaha lol
LOL esoterically hilarious put-down with a pinch of chiding for good measure.
Atleast Kaos takes care of its employees 😊
This show was ahead of its time. loved it!
It's still ahead of its time!
Very... Now we are supporting the na.. in ucraine... No surprise, operation paper clip.
Omg, I kno I'm old, but that is still funny, and still true..lol
Edward Platt was definitely the “Lawrence Olivier” of exasperation.
165Dash brilliant quote
shouldn't this be referred to as '...Labor Relations' or 'Union Relations' instead of 'Human Relations'?
They may have meant Human Resources.
"Human Resources" still sounds to me like "Soylent Green". Aliens that want to eat us.
@@charlynegezze8536 HR used to be called Personnel.
But now humans are just seen as 'resources' instead of 'persons'.
Ed Platt was the man!
He also had a great singing voice
Dallas Brubaker what a wonderfully odd and esoteric comment - I’d like to hear him sing Secret Agent Man
@@stevemarshallfunny5981 LOL, yes

Agent 44; "Everything's expensive these days; poison is up!" Lol
Love Victor French!
Woah, what's he doing without facial hair? I didn't recognize him
lol
The writing on Get Smart was just so damned good. Nothing can or will touch this in the days ahead.
Well when you had Buck Henry and Mel Brooks, shut the front door!
Hey! Spies have "overhead" too you know. LOL
its a genius premise to show that even spies is still nothing more then just a job
How did any one keep a straight face saying those lines.

KAOS credit card. lol!!!!
Poor Chief
We should have had Max Smart as our collective contract negotiator.
Many of the topics they deal with on GET SMART are still relevant today.

Bernie Kople and Don Adams at one table :)
86th thumbs up. YESSSSSS!!!!!!
Although Maxwell Smart had many villains, Siegfried will always be the funniest archvillain of the show.
Although Schtarka (phonetic) was a close second !!!
What about schtarka?
I bet on a longshot horse once named Siegfried just because of the show. Came in second and I had him across the board
When you also play a doctor, you can't help but be a hilarious villain...😅😅😅
IDK, "NOT the Craw...The CRAW!"
Especially funny as our people are not even being paid right now.
Because of Pelosi and shumer

It is hard to fathom that the sweet doctor on the Love Boat was that devious yet sweet villain on Get Smart.
Excellent compilation Keith. Thank you!
Try to enforce these regulations with Macri, here in Argentina. We could use Max´s help.
