In this video I show extended testing on the newly released Down4Sound JP23v2 in blue. Amp is rated 1800W at 2 ohms and 2800W at 1 ohm, but in this video I show 8 ohms down to 0.67 ohm tests.

Bought a JP23V2 and have been running it for a couple of weeks on an SSA Evil 15” at 1 ohm and it’s a beast. Pushes the Evil well and sounds good in the process

I have the jp23 1.5 for my daily. I have nothing but positive words for it. I had it pushing two rs gold 10's and it was a perfect match. I'm getting g ready to move on to either a beefy 12 or 15 and don't plan on switching amps(unless it's to as jp33!!!)

hey man,have you been running your jp23v2 at half ohm ? i have been running mine at 1 ohm on a single sealed 12, i want to add another 12. and would have to go to .5 ohm load with both.. just wondering if i am asking for trouble..? lol
@@madnessmaker6162 the only ohm load this amp has ever seen is half ohm but you gotta have good electrical or it will blow I have a 320amp alt at 14.8 and 10k worth of lithium every now and then it will drop low 13's if I'm bangin hard at a stop light but you can just use the bass knob to turn the bass down a little bit honestly I would just tune the gain down a little overall for long-term

Just ordered one of these to put on 3 skar 10s at 2.67 ohms. Should match up nicely. Going to order another one for my l7x 10 soon also and run it at 1 ohm.

Can we get extra vids with lower voltage things like 14.0, 13.8 & 13.4 that way we can see how the amp perform😊 at lower voltage
You are looking at probably 2500 watts with a impedance rise at 1ohm meaning you would have to wire your subwoofers at. 5ohms combined or one dual at a half ohm? I have two jp23 amplifiers and I ran them on two sundown xv3 12s? Had two run a Taramps 8k on them to make them move hard?
Big D we want to see the clamped power with box rise on the subs like you used to do on the subs.

It'll be near the same cus he's testing 4 ohm also. Amp don't car if the box is 10cf or 1cf . It'll make certain power per impedance/voltage

@damnitdang it's a difference in playing music music is dynamic all over the place these test like u said are one frequency with steady power .in real world it matters u get real clamp power in set up dyno is that control set in real world box dies matter resistance is heat heat plays alot in what amp does

I still think people are unclear the amount of strain a .67ohm load on the Dyno is vs on subwoofers.

I’ve had 3 rp2000 for the last 4-5 years. 2 running 2 15’s at 1ohm. Other In storage. Then last month one quit working. Nothing I could do. Thinking of doing a new build in a 62 impala. Might try a jp or like you step up from an RP

Those are good amplifiers for one ohm stable? And they will probably push 1500 to 1750 watt subwoofer I bought 2 jp23 and tried them on my sundown xv3 12s? Not enough power? And that's a lot current being drawn for a 3000 watt amplifier?

My take on all this is skar audio is the cheapest on the market and nobody gonna beat that. Down4sound is great, audio control is great too, DD Audio is also great too. Rockford too. They are all brand and we pay for brand, not for the quality and power. Ever brand and make have a different sounds, quality and power. With skar we get affordable price, quality with power and a brand.
My take on all this car audio system is that everyone once the next top of the line song system. And everything is keep on growing expensive. Skar audio is helping us have something to compete with high end car audio system out dere. Down4sound are trying to make affordable amplifier and gears for us to purchase.

Anyone else JP23 V2 have a fan that turns on immediately? Mine turns on when it's not even hot. As soon as car is on, fan is on.

Why is the dyno test at .6 ohm harder than running .5 ohm in a car? I’m running my jp23 v2 at .5 ohm typically sits at 13.4v while hitting major bass during songs

Why don’t you dyno more 4 and 2 channel amps? The cheaper 2 & 4 channel amps is what absolutely sells the most.
I recently got a jp95 for mids and highs,it replaced a rockford,but the jp95 has a bad engine whine..the rockford didnt,if anyone knows why,I would appreciate any help with this problem ..I would think it was a rca problem cause the rockford didn't do it,and I've grounded the outputs to the chassis of my radio but did not help..so please any ideas would be greatly appreciated

I think it says right on the website to order YOU MUST HAVE UPGRADED CHARGING SYSTEM / SUPPORT BATTERY to run these.
Well no shit if u have a big system.. But if just one amp.. Not everyone has to have all that.. The amp can run at 12.5 as well
@@Jordansautorepair the amp can run at 12.5 but still needs the amperage - which calls for upgraded electrical. Its soaking up 400 amps, just ONE of these amps IS. A huge system, by the numbers
A healthy car battery should be near 14 V anyway. (13.8 is standard, 12 minimal)

The JP23 v 1.5 was stable to lower OHM loads right? I think it did certified 0.5 ohm?
Have you ever tested Niche amps. I got a couple of them from a friend and they are pretty awesome. There's not a lot of info on them.

@@wal2 One is a four channel and the other is mono. But there around the same size. I would say 15" long and around 10" wide. Chrome and have meters on the tops.

What do you make of some amps doing significantly higher numbers on dynamic vs 1%? Meaningful, if so to what degree?
Tells me the power supply is unregulated and there may not be current control for protection

You may want a 2nd battery to supplement like one of the D4S LTO 6.0’s or an Ioxus Supercap battery

@@Gilbert-i8zif your alt is rated 160 amps to run this at 1 ohm u say the current draw was above 200amps the ano is powerful u need power to make power and if your system is at 13 volts and dipping no u not go get power out of any amp not full unless u have amperage to support

Why did my JP23 V2 + JP23 4 come with two DUM DUM candies
So don’t run this under 1 ohm or will go into protection ?
I doubt most people will see a true 0.67 load with speakers, so you'll be fine. The resistors are brutal for the amp tests while speakers will fluctuate in impedance based on frequency, temp and other parameters
The original model was a half bridge Korean board. They run down to half ohm generally with now problem. The new model I can see is a full bridge design. That’s why it’s so much smaller. They do not like under 1 ohm. That being said there is substantial rise in impedance when you wire an amp to speakers. 3 times at tuning frequency is normal for a ported box, so on speakers .8 would most likely be fine all day long. I install a lot of amps and I typically don’t run full bridge under .8. They don’t like it. I have done them at .4-.5 in competition vehicles that demo for 20-30 seconds at a time, but in a daily driver keep this thing .8 or higher. You probably think .8 sounds weird but a lot of todays very high end subs don’t utilize typical dual 1 ohm or dual 2 ohm coils. They do dual .9 or dual 1.8 to suck a little more power out of your amp and help with rise. Dual 1.8 in parallel is a .9 load.
@@Van1018s actually the v1 v1.5 and this v2 are all made in China and half bridge…which is why they can all be strapped. Full bridged amps cannot be strapped
@@momanholmes8715 that is true full bridge cannot be strapped. At first glance and based on reduced size I thought the 2.0 was a full bridge, but you are correct. I’ve never hooked up a JP amp. Only sat in his Tahoe. Twice. It’s very unimpressive for what’s in it. And I’m a team DB guy. Team DB built that Tahoe, but I’m not impressed. Looks great. Not very loud considering what’s in it.
I’m running a wired to half ohm load. Rises to 8. No problem 👌.

The 0.5 on speakers equates to about 0.8 in the Dyno. Dyno uses resistive loads where speakers are reactive (dynamic) so their ohm load fluctuates depending on frequency, temp, box and more.
Anyone ran these @.5 nominal? Any luck?

Taramps can make voice coils look like mig welds with the gas not turned on.
It almost couldn't push those sub if it was a JL amp those sub be knocking im just saying.....
That's 4 12s dude.. and it was moving them.. those model squares don't have a very high x max anyways.. and what jl amp are you referring?? The highest model is a 1000/1. Without getting a hd At well over $1 per watt. I had a 250/1 and it wasn't anything to brag about.. I sold it for it's overpriced amount and bought amps that would do 3x the power .. also sold the subs for some that would handle power . Jl has the w7 and 1000/1.. outside of that it's weak bs... when will people wake up

Yea. The fan on my jp34ab sounds like a fkn Kazoo after only 2 weeks. Untill I hit a bump while driving then it stops lol not impressed
