I think it's also important to consider the use of Buddha as an aesthetic element to his ninjutsu because Buddha is the highest being in the Journey to the West story. Buddha was the only one who could manage Sun Wu Kong's mischief so naturally it would make sense for Hashirama to embody the two most powerful beings in the inspirational source material. Additionally, Hashirama's character is on the two opposite ends of the spectrum like Wu Kong and Buddha. He's either completely carefree and laid back with bad habits like gambling or he's serious but without ever showing a lost for composure.

Yamato was also transplanted Hashiram cells .. by Oruchimaru .. as well as danzo.
It’s a kekkei genkai. Wood release is combination of earth and water like his brother. There are several styles like the deep forest he used when he was revived the 1st time against the 3rd Hokage. But it’s extremely rare in even senju’s and the fact he was the reincarnation of Ashura really helped.

The biggest loophole in Kekkei Genkais has to be Mu creating Dust Release which is technically a Kekkei Tota but you get the idea. It was created not inherited like the others. Maybe Kekkei Totas are different but it just seems inconsistent but then again the story has lots of plot holes too.
I took it more as he was the first to do it and would have possibly had kids that could do the same if he would have lived long enough. Ppl forget that clan have singular points of origin, without that founder having that special ability or technique these clans would fade into history as nothing important

Kekkei genkai has 2 meanings in the series. 1 meaning was bloodline ability the other meant 2 natures mixed to make a new one. Mei uses multiple kekkei genkai (lava. Boil, etc) but they aren't a bloodline ability

I think it is a combination of both. I think he either already had or some how learned to use wood style and sage mode because he has such strength from being a reimcarnate AND a senju I think that him getting the massive power of being a reincarnated either awoken or gave him the ability to learn it on his own his reincarnation is light/life shown how naruto could revive people I think that mixed with his senju ancestory and created his abilities
Now your whole analysis kinda makes solid grounds for my own theory. I think that Hashirama's sage mode is a pure nature/life sage mode, but as you said, he couldn't have gotten it from nowhere, that's why I think that he did get it in Shikkotsu forest. While I ignore where the Surrendo is located, I'm gonna assume is in or near the forest, and that would make still some sense here because in that forest would live the sage monkeys and the sage slugs, but also a third kind of sages: trees. My theory is that there is some kind of ents or treants that are tree sages that no one or a very very few people know about them because you wouldn't communicate with them unless you're very proficient in mokuton, so Hashirama being that and also Ashura's reincarnation, he could connect with nature itself, thus the trees, because there is no older living being than them and also they could have teached a lot both to monkey sages and slug sages, branching their own knowledge. But Hashirama met the real deal and learned directly from the tree sages, hence his awesome and pretty unique techniques. That's my thesis and I'm up for debate.

They never specified that you have to learn sage mode from an animal. I always assumed since Hashirama has wood style (nature), and he can use his wood style to suck opponents chakra, maybe he accidently sucked some sage chakra from nature/environment and figured out how to control it.

Hashirama wood style is not a kekkie genkai . its from some connection to the Chakra tree and along with his mastery of Sage mode which is a type of energy that preceded the arrival of the chakra tree - he gained immense power.

It’s a kekkei genkai. Wood release is combination of earth and water like his brother. There are several styles like the deep forest he used when he was revived the 1st time against the 3rd Hokage. But it’s extremely rare in even senju’s and the fact he was the reincarnation of Ashura really helped.

The biggest loophole in Kekkei Genkais has to be Mu creating Dust Release which is technically a Kekkei Tota but you get the idea. It was created not inherited like the others. Maybe Kekkei Totas are different but it just seems inconsistent but then again the story has lots of plot holes too.
I took it more as he was the first to do it and would have possibly had kids that could do the same if he would have lived long enough. Ppl forget that clan have singular points of origin, without that founder having that special ability or technique these clans would fade into history as nothing important

By the time they discovered these things Ninjutsu has been around for over a thousand years. Just wish they had better origins but i know a lot of stuff gets added in the story as they go so it would be hard to correct these things later on.
Kekkei genkai has 2 meanings in the series. 1 meaning was bloodline ability the other meant 2 natures mixed to make a new one. Mei uses multiple kekkei genkai (lava. Boil, etc) but they aren't a bloodline ability

Basically it's something not exactly inherited and it just an ability you are born capable of doing. So you can be the first to create it cause your DNA was capable. But someone not related to you could also possibly do it too. Unlike doujutus.

I think it is a combination of both. I think he either already had or some how learned to use wood style and sage mode because he has such strength from being a reimcarnate AND a senju I think that him getting the massive power of being a reincarnated either awoken or gave him the ability to learn it on his own his reincarnation is light/life shown how naruto could revive people I think that mixed with his senju ancestory and created his abilities
Now your whole analysis kinda makes solid grounds for my own theory. I think that Hashirama's sage mode is a pure nature/life sage mode, but as you said, he couldn't have gotten it from nowhere, that's why I think that he did get it in Shikkotsu forest. While I ignore where the Surrendo is located, I'm gonna assume is in or near the forest, and that would make still some sense here because in that forest would live the sage monkeys and the sage slugs, but also a third kind of sages: trees. My theory is that there is some kind of ents or treants that are tree sages that no one or a very very few people know about them because you wouldn't communicate with them unless you're very proficient in mokuton, so Hashirama being that and also Ashura's reincarnation, he could connect with nature itself, thus the trees, because there is no older living being than them and also they could have teached a lot both to monkey sages and slug sages, branching their own knowledge. But Hashirama met the real deal and learned directly from the tree sages, hence his awesome and pretty unique techniques. That's my thesis and I'm up for debate.
Jugo more than likely originated from the place or people that taught Hashirama he can enter a sage mode or use sage chakra instant like. Though not Mukton but since he doesn’t have Mukton I believe that’s why he and his clan lose control and start rampaging. So Nature Sage makes sense. Plus he can heal people from fatal wounds with his chakra much like Hashiramas instant healing ability he may be using nature chakra to heal himself instantly

So for the last theory, it's possible for one creature to be a tailed beast, a sage mode trainer, and an animal summon via contract.. I wonder what would happen if Son Goku had naruto as a host, taught him monkey sage mode, and made a contract with him, then have him enter tailed beast mode and sage mode at the same time like he did with kurama, would he look like full-monkey? Then while in that dual mode, perform a summoning jutsu and summon Son Goku. What would happen then? Would the tailed beast mode be deactivated because the summoned tailed beast now exists in the physical world? The last theory seems a stretch.

I always assumed since Hashirama has wood style (nature), and he can use his wood style to suck opponents chakra, maybe he accidently sucked some sage chakra from nature/environment and figured out how to control it.
I disagree with the moneky sage. Their eyes are not the same! And the monkeys are the summoning of the Sarutobi not the Senju. Sarutobi means "monkey jump", theirfor im pretty sure Hiruzen didnt learn it from Hashirama or Tobirama
