If you keep talking you may talk me into getting one!!! Some days in SE Ohio we might get 4 hr of sun! This looks a whole lot better than a battery and solar panel! Thanks for the info.
Elvis, you are right on time with this video. I was just looking into getting a generator. You made a lot of good points and gave me a lot to think about. I will not suffer through another brutal Texas winter. Thanks for the lesson professor!
BLUETTI AC200P, and solar panels. I also got the ALP 1000w propane generator to charge at night or on overcast days. I figured I could store propane for long periods of time with little problem.
I know that there are many different opinions on this type of tool and countless options to generate power. What impresses me the most is actually having those different options available to use, if and when needed. Power can be generated from running water, decomposing vegetation, fuel oils, alcohol to solar. In today's world, the ability to make electricity is key by whatever method when needed. Thank you Elvis for the insights on this method. Your work is never unappreciated, at least from this viewer.
LOL 365 days, 52 weeks-we knew what you meant. All very salient points. Charging time with solar input is important. There is no expectation that these devices be 100 percent efficient with variables such as DC to AC, cloud cover and sun angle. It is nice that the unit produces energy safe for sensitive electronics. The stated purpose of powering a limited number of devices suits many purposes. This would be perfect for building a cabin, or shed with battery operated tools. Emergency, or truck camping uses would be particularly useful. Not for heating as propane makes more sense, but you could power a soldering iron, or heat gun for small projects. As efficiencies improve, all of these devices make sense. I enjoy the variety you are bringing to the channel. I was looking at wood stoves yesterday as a secondary heat source for a new home build and was amazed at the efficiency of a wood stove coupled with an electric fan. We will need to do something like a free standing wood stove to heat a large shop as well. So yes, alternative heating sources, even passive ones would be of interest.
Yep 52, 65… sutem like dat!!! 🥴😂😂😂 You know the deal it sounds like. Yes they make very efficient woodstoves now it’s amazing. We need to design houses where we can at least cut the umbilical cord if we must! It seems as though there is no end to the evil that can be forced upon us. The more independent we are the better feeling we can have! 👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 congrats on your new home.
Elvis that's a really good point because it is a renewable source of energy that you can with moderation use even on cloudy days with a good battery backup of course I'm speaking in like a minimalist kind of use setting. Also tactically it's a better energy source because a generator is loud as shit besides the fact that you got to have diesel or gas to run it. It's basically a gigantic noise maker that tells everybody around you "Look I got power." I am looking into some sort of solar power backup and battery storage, some systems are kind of steep on the initial investment, but it's just like reloading equipment the initial investment is not as cost-effective but over time it ends up paying for itself and that's just kind of how I look at solar power right now is it it's a worthy investment it's just I won't see my returns immediately.
@@elvisammo i been trying your 230 gr 30 cal sub load,, why are some of my cast bullets coming out like bananas.. ? Inspection after quench, rolling on flat surface shows about 30% scrap banana curve ?
Hey Elvis! I was reading the amazon reviews on this and some folks were bitchin bout the actual 2000WH capacity. Maybe you could verify the 2000WH by connecting a heavy load like a 1000w heater and see how long it keeps it going?
@@elvisammo hah there you go, i'm still impressed with it. It does seem like a lot of $ but put something together with lead acid batteries, stand alone pure sine inverter, and charger and it adds up quick financiallv and weight and volume wise. Typical trolling motor type deep cycle around 100 AH alone weighs 80 pounds. You would need like 20 of them and you can only use like half the storage as it kills the batteries to run them down hard.
Thanks for the breakdown, its rugged individualism, the semantics of prepping has a negative connotation, it denigrates the right to be an independent actor on gods green earth. Agreed, that looks about perfect size for running a remote job site.

@Elvis Ammo I want to possibly get in touch with you about this unit. I was blessed with some money today and I want to purchase this unit. For me and my family 2 days ago our power went out and my son is only 4 months old. So that put the fear of god in my heart. Is there anyway that I can talk to you about this.
How long will it run with a 1,500 watt electric heater? for under $500 I bought a 2kw gas inverter generator it will run a 1,500 watt heater for 9 hours on 1 gallon, it takes under 1 minute to fully refuel it for another 9 hours it will run for 12 hours with a 900 watt load it weighs 43 pounds, 41 decibel when running under full load 38 decibel at 1/2 load They really need to stop calling those things generators because they are not, they are battery banks, they store power in batteries. I had a battery bank, 8 200 pound batteries under the house with a 4,500 watt trace inverter, they have square wave, modified sine wave and true sine wave.
If it really can supply 2000WH and given the heater draws 1500W constantly, 2000WH/1500W = 1.33 H or 1 hour and 20 minutes I believe that's how its calculated. Making heat burns up the juice. Even something like a coffee pot uses 1500 watts when brewing. These things are great for LED lighting and power tools and such.
It’s impossible for it to compete with an endless supply of gas or diesel until the supply runs out. That’s what I use this for, a back up. But how can you call a gas generator a generator without diesel or gas? I get your point. It’s a lot easier to create our own energy with the sun, then it is to make our own diesel or gas. This is why I like these battery banks. By the way I have been successful in making ethanol and diesel myself using plant-based products and cooking oil. This is definitely not for everyone. In a perfect world these gas and diesel generators are the best for putting out a lot of power. In my life I have been without that possibility. Solar has filled the gap in some of my situation‘s. I myself have the skills to live happy without any of it. But from a tactical standpoint this gives us an edge. Thanks for commenting!
