    Elvis, that's how I always felt. Solar energy seems to be more of a benefit to individuals on a small scale/alternative rather than a large utility, or primary source. Oh, did you work us an elvis ammo promo code with HQST? Lol.

    • @elvisammo
      @elvisammo  2 роки тому +6

      I didn’t get a code. That price is pretty incredible with no tax too! Make sure you tell him Elvis ammo sent ya. Yes we feel the same way about alternative energy. Making our own energy is just one of those things we can do for our self at whatever level we can afford! 👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

      @@elvisammo Have you tried one of those new battery chainsaws? They cut nice and more importantly are very very low on the noise. Nope they are not for cutting cords of wood but for typical uses of clearing a fallen tree or chunking up some camping wood and so on they are nice. Plus they can sit without carb and fuel issues and will always start if you are getting my drift.

      Luuk-out-below I don’t have one, but I have been thinking about this. If I don’t have any fuel as in gas. I can charge it if it is battery powered with my solar. Or I can plug it in if it’s AC to my portable power generator. Do you have a preference electric or battery powered? Do you have a preference name brand or size? I am interested

      @@elvisammo I was looking at them and tried one I really liked, it was a Toro 16 inch 51850 60v battery. A friend of mine has this model, it is a rechargeable battery model. Feels like a traditional gas saw, has a legit chain tensioner. It will be my next saw. I like the battery models for portability and don't want to worry about cutting or snagging the cord. Around $280

    I started playing with solar a few years ago then I moved about 200 miles to a different area, used a storage unit during the move. Some lowlife degenerate broke in and stole tools and my solar panels! Trying to figure out how to proceed, feeling the need to get working on it again. Thanks for putting this out.

    Great info. I built a 300 AH battery bank because we have lots of short power outages. That lets us run medical equipment, computers or whatever we need overnight. Been looking to go with solar to recharge it and keep it charged when we aren't using it. lol I know nothing about electricity so I am researching and learning as I go.

    • @elvisammo
      @elvisammo  2 роки тому +2

      I’m glad you are researching it. My playlist may help a bit. I will also be reviewing a 500 W small power generator next week sometime. But if you are this far already. I wouldn’t hesitate to get some solar panels because you will need them. Supplies are running low costs are going up just throwing that out. No need to rush, just be informed about our situation. Thane all you will need is a solar controller preferably MPPT, capable of handling the amount of power you want for a back up. And a pure sine wave inverter. So that you can plug into it to use the power that you are storing in your battery bank. Hope this helps! 👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

    I'm in the process of getting into a off grid tiny house, so thanks for this!! Looking to save about as much as possible since I'm about as broke as it gets lol just got the woodstove last weekend. Found a Consolidated DutchWest Sequoia from Vermont Castings with all the accessories and chimney parts for 300 bucks!!! Thank God for wealthy folks who just want to get rid of stuff from their summer camps lol
    Gotta get insulation next and answer the call of nature system. Then it will be on to the solar array. Any extra tips you might have for someone just getting into it? Mistakes most noobs would make that I might be able to avoid? Done any other videos on the subject? Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated, thanks again!

      One Thing I would do if I was broke, you can save a lot of money to start out with if you use low-voltage wire nothing under 12 gauge though. I have a link to MC4 connectors and crimpers that are good quality in my Mc4 Solar cables video on the playlist. The wire is expensive. But this will hold up for a long time to get you started. 👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

    Any idea how many 100watt panels would be needed to power a portable electric chair?

    • @luuk-out-below9804
      @luuk-out-below9804 2 роки тому

      One doesn't typically power the load directly from the panel. It doesnt work that way You would use a panel to recharge the battery. You would also need to run the panel into a controller to regulate the voltage into the battery and so on.

    • @elvisammo
      @elvisammo  2 роки тому

      Depending on the size of the battery 12 V. You can hook up 100 W solar panel to a trickle charger and charge it up directly from the solar panel. I’ll probably talk about this more soon. This would also work if you have more than one battery. You can keep one charged while using the other.. what size battery do you have?
