+Friek555 sorry, but I do have to point out that general relativity definitely is not proven. There are aspects of it they have been directly proven, like -most recently- gravitational waves, however there is an ongoing battle between itself and quantum mechanics... and as many physicists have pointed out, it is almost impossible for them to coexist, only one is 'right' and even then that will almost always be in constant refinement.
Mouza Al Mualla Being really picky, no scientific theory can ever be actually _proven_. And General Relativity is practically proven to give correct predictions _unless_ you are talking about extremely small scales. I know that it isn't a complete theory.
+Friek555 Yes, that is what I meant by my unnecessarily long winded response, aha. I did use 'proven' incorrectly though, for lack of a better word, I think I meant 'directly observed'. The future of GR does seem bright, but I was specifically referring to extremely small scales, (as explained by my reference to QM), but I guess physics has always been in a constant tug of war.

It's a little disturbing how even TED talks continue to under represent minority women & women of color in these presentations. Progressive policy is to lend a voice to the underprivileged & the disenfranchised. Yet, the very women in Western society who still suffer the most from conservatism & the religious right, and who are lacking in social mobility and financial independence most often, are time & again finding themselves sidelined in favor of upper-middle class white women. In the year 2015, something about this mentality is becoming very worrying.
Eirik Magnus Larssen sorry... i'm male... and i'm from Russia. As far as i can see you must stand together with this "upper-middle class white women". Because this is what matter... this rational person try to get rid of this household wife(or something like this) stereotype as much as you try to represent minorities problems. We all humans... peoples... after all! Moving forward, that's what's important.
Eirik Magnus Larssen Racial diversity does not matter, what really matters is MENTAL diversity. I don't have anything wrong with minorities, but they should not be put in the spotlight simply for their skin color. Ideas are worth more than racial diversity

That seems to be the argument, and it would help that argument if it weren't so politicized.
Русским салам, остальным соболезную
why does the title really state 'is engineers human?, of course they are human, but can someone explain me the intention of the title.
Its because of her early statement when she talked about engineers not contributing to society.
Мне задали задание на английском посмотреть видео и написать про что тут, но я ничего не понял
Про что видео?
Про говно
Huh why is she here if she is an engineer? she is not doing engineering work here. but I would love to see some girl engineers too many guys are here. At the same time do something you like because most likely that's what you will be doing for the rest of your life. You need to be passionate about what you are doing. Not because someone else tell you to do it. Oh please don't do it for money. you might be unhappy with that choice later.
Nuwan Hewabethmage Do chefs eat? You guessed it, they don't.
They be oompahloompahs, any fule no.
Well intentioned talk bout couldn't finish watching.. just torture.. i'm guess she spends most of her time talking to her children. The content is verry good, should be respun into a more hard hitting rundown.
The have better legs
IBM Amazon intel all Hindu and big failures as is Boeing for the same reason

#NOBRA
That's da first thing I noticed sir!
Uncle Martin That's all I noticed. ;-)
lol, "tedx"
what a joke.
A lot of padding one self on the back in this video. You're an engineer? Okay, neat. Oh he's a biologist? Cool. That dudes a police man? neat!
nobody cares
PhysBro 91 engineers create thing. Non of what you listed innovate or change society. And if you don't care then keep it for yourself, why are you watching this video?
Grim Faker
In other words, you harbor white supremacy beliefs.
Eirik Magnus Larssen Racial diversity does not matter, what really matters is MENTAL diversity. I don't have anything wrong with minorities, but they should not be put in the spotlight simply for their skin color. Ideas are worth more than racial diversity
This is what the mind of a progressive sounds like.
"Yes, I understand she's trying to break down gender stereotypes and get women into highly equitable careers... but she's *white* "
This is why Trump won and will continue to win. Progressivism is on its way out.
