Be smart and install a tubular K member if you are going with Longtubes. It makes install and long-term maintenance on the clutch a non-issue it will allow you to easily unbolt one header to aid removal of the tranny for clutch replacement. Also #1 Word of advice if you are going to modify your ride....Learn to turn a wrench on it yourself. You will save a ton of money overpaying someone to install your go-fast parts!!

The whole point of buying a old 99-04 is the working on it aspect. They are fun reliable and fairly cheap to maintain. But the fun is doing the work your self or with friend or family.

I second this. I don't have a tubular k member but I've changed different headers out and swapped a newer engine in and that stock k member is a b****

I'm doing the"learning" part now. I have a friend with an '00 Crown Victoria and I have an '00 Grand Marquis. He's a mechanic, I'm a woodworker. He's helped me work on my car, I helped him change his intake manifold yesterday. It would have been more fun it it hadn't been ungodly hot outside, but now I know I can change mine. A few weeks ago I changed my upper plenum with a Trick Flow, almost entirely by myself. That woke my luxobarge up nicely.
This may not sound like much to those used to working on cars, but it's been awesome. I'm just getting started.

Hi trying it again. Just bought a 2003 Mach 1 w long tube BBK headers. It needs a throw out bearing. Does anyone know if I’d have to drop the K member, just the headers or both to be able to change it? Hoping I won’t have to drop anything. Thanks

I be tried 3 different aftermarket coils and the real MSD coils have been ran extremely hard for 2 years and have blew out a plug and coil , fixed the head and the coil still working today 👍my thoughts are factory coils are 1st go to , but MSD coils are the best aftermarket for the SOHC , love the new edges

    Great video!
My suggestions for first mod, bang for buck would be an off-road X or H pipe. I don’t think they sell them anymore but a used one should be easy to find still.
Stuff I’ve never had luck with are: aftermarket clutch cables, always go with a Ford one and I’ve never had any success with aftermarket throttle bodies. They always had some sort of issues and I’d end up going back to stock.
I wish the Tremec 3650 didn’t have the bell housing as part of the case. Would be so much easier swapping a clutch especially w/ long tubes.
A 2V New Edge is a great car for someone getting into the hobby too. Lots of solid examples still available that won’t break the bank. So many parts and resources out there to help you build no matter what direction you want to go. I think their styling has aged well and they still look great, not dated at all

I'm not at a point for installing a return fuel system but I dread that day because I've had to replace the fuel pump last year and it is no fun dropping the gas tank - especially since mine was full. Getting the tank off and back on can break the plastic nozzle on the filler if you're not very careful - I wish I had a hydraulic lift to do this job.

Has a pretty stock 4.6L V8; considering a crate Coyote swap. Is it straightforward (engine, EMS, etc.), or are there a lot of other considerations. All In I want to have a respectable drift/track car for about $10K. Nothing hugely aggressive, just something to have fun with. Do you have any suggestions?

You shouldn't have to remove headers. You have to remove the mid pipe to get the transmission out. But headers can stay bolted to the cylinder head. You can access the bellhousing bolts after removing the mid pipe. But you have to do that with stock exhaust as well. BBK headers fit well on my 04 mustang and didn't have to remove to replace clutch.

It's worth it going long tubes. All the guys making the most power weather na or boosted all have long tubes unless they're turbo obviously. It isn't just about peak power it's the overall curve. Long tubes actually help alot down low more than you'd think and obviously up top too it's because of the scavenging they do.

You engine is not made to produce more horsepower than it's supposed to. B you adding a supercharger, your forcing your engine to produce more horsepower which would wear it out or damage it. The only safe mods you need is a bigger throttle body and a cool air intake which are not thst expensive

I’ve had accel yellow coils for 4 years now not a single Miss also. My returnless fuel system has 4 years on as well 160k miles not once has the car not started. Last. Spend the little money get the cheap tube k member for Cheapos. And my Chinese longtubes that when u remove the inner well and tire Jack up and waaalaaaa header bolts. Everything you said in this is just because u have no clue wtf your doing. Amazon coils are even great. On my truck 50buck Chinese coil pack are 2 seasons old and never give me issues. And my hood friends 03 term has a returnless and puts 700 some hp down. And plugs only what kind. Wtf I’ve had fords. But the denso iridium’s are two years old and I check everything twice a year and all the junk that’s gonna be 5 years old 100l miles and blabla. Is fantastic. I even DoorDash with it. And beat the shit. So u musta bought a lemon or idk. But u can’t say to people not to buy or do something when 22 years old my cars runs like. Top. I had boost so
A return sys was ness. But I sold for a na build that makes more then 8 psi and I’m back to my returnless sys. just like I put a Romeo engine in a Windsor car and nothing was gonna work bolt up blabla. Everything fit perfectly Blew a clutch and I’m done laying on stone. I pulled my engine and left trans In. Took me from 6am sat morning and 1145 that night engine was back in and 1230 I was back on the road. I work alone and have the picker attachment that allows me to tilt and move engine and engine slid on trans so easy bell bolts cable mounts for engine plug harness in 10 mins fill up fluids and quick lil accessory bolts and it’s easier then on ground manhandling a trans perfect. And headers go on when engine is semi in. So. Best easy mustangs ever.

1 & 3 yes, but CAI are fine, and sometimes necessary. Especially with blowers like Kennbell and Eatons

One helpful tip for ANYONE boosting their 4.6. HEAD. COOLING. MOD.
Theres an endless stream of people who have cooked #7 and #8 running high horsepower because the coolant deadheads in the back of the motor. My car runs crazy cool with the mod and its vital for anyone with a high hp build

ACCEL coils are very good. I have 3 years on mine with no issues. MSD are supposed to be good too.
