Damn, I'm really proud of this one. For sure proud of the videos recently, but this one was pure passion. I knew there would be one mistake haha sorry about the text in the last segment. Appreciate yall
Seems like this vid is popping off a little, really really appreciate all the kind words and feedback as well. Shoutout to Chippy and his community as well as Smash University! Appreciate yall
Great video honestly, a couple subtitles of the important bits on the screen would go a long way for watchability but you did a really good job with this one man, keep it up homie
Another great vid. I never thought about what my plan is. I know I have 1 but to actually decipher what my plan while fighting different people or Characters. I'm definitely gonna work on that. Thanks Colin 👍🏾
This was very well structured and put together. The examples and references you used to explain neutral to provide any opportunity to relate to the subject is well executed. Great work, you can tell you spent quality time on this (and other recent videos as well).. keep it up!
This was good. I consider myself a mid level richter/incineroar main, which both have very different play styles. You made me realize that with this video. As my Richter is more in between defensive and offensive, while my incin is pure offence. Your explanation of neutral is very good. The best i have seen so far. Keep it up
Y'know, i definitely do that "have a plan" tip, but writing it down and keeping it close might just be a better idea. This was a great vid, really helpful for thinking about how to build neutral, which is the more helpful skill in the long run
0:10 jokes on you, I talk about ALOT of stuff I don't know about in this game, especially frame data. I feel like you should make a video specifically on how to take advantage of Young Link's frame data since a lot of people seem to mention it's one of the best parts about him. Thanks for the help.
Easiest thing to practice reads or player habits is the following: Pick young link, grab opponent and down throw into up air, then wait for opponent to act, they'll usually come down aggressively, so do a UP B out of shield, and you've achieved your first read.
Another term for inherent pressure that I usually understood it as was implied threats Like how some characters with good landing aerials can make great use of empty landings because the opponent will either give space to respect the option or sometimes preempt a punish attempt on your landing Or if you're in an unreactable range to punish your opponent's ledge hang (like Cloud standing at a distance where he can dash attack you at ledge around KO percent) then they are left to guess for their life or eat the punish
Wow Colinies. Been a while since I've seen you in the competitive scene. I am finally learning neutral after realizing the importance of it. I've played Smash competitively for a solid amount of time now and I just wanna say damn was this video good. I laughed when I saw the new text layer error, I could feel the passion, and it genuinely helped me out. Thank you for the amazing content.
Have been trying to get better at platform fighters for a long long time and I think this video is exactly what I've been looking for! Thank you very much
I can only visualize the neutral if I think of the game as if there's a thin wall that's always moving between us two players. I literally have to create a mental image in game to be able to get a feel for if my opponents trying to bait and punish, heavily focused on spacing Aerials, or rush me down. Without visualizing that wall, I have no clue what my options in each dynamic encounter is or when my opponent is changing up his neutral strategy.
This video is amazing in every way possible. The examples used, the description, the dialogue, everything about this video was really fantastic I must say and I learned a lot. It’s really well thought out and I can tell you put in a lot of effort to make this video.
hey man, i’m not sure if you’ll see this, but this is the most helpful and well made smash video i’ve ever seen. so i appreciate the time and effort for this. keep up the good work man!
You're probably not gonna read this, but your video seriously helped me out. I was struggling for a while and I finally know why after listening to this video. Thank you so much for sharing this, I really needed this!
Love seeing the effort you've been putting into new stuff man. Killer editing giving this educational video a really lively and fun feeling. One of the best Smash videos I've seen in a while.
Practice a lot outside of the game (not on quick play, or even public arenas). Try to play as consciously as possible and utilize each of the points Colonies mentioned. Make sure to talk with the person/people you play with and see what bad habits, weaknesses, etc. they notice in you, and do what you can to shake those habits.
Your videos are really really good. Very informative and good editing. I'm very surprised at the view counts given your tourny results and upsets!! Keep up the good work!! People will know your name eventually ✊🏻
bro two things i freakin love how u use sports and sports players as a reference to help us understand the example or point youre bringing out , and second i cant share this with a friend then they till start beating me in smash . jk . good stuff tho.
@@colinies no worries bro this some good content and informational as well im like that the point where im getting the mental aspects of the game u know so this good stuff bro the community appreciates you just incase no one has told you yet but yeah thanks for the hard work bro.
I've noticed several gameplay videos you've done where you only do the first hit of Young Link's forward air (his forward air hits twice) how do you cancel the second hit?
Damn, I'm really proud of this one. For sure proud of the videos recently, but this one was pure passion.
I knew there would be one mistake haha sorry about the text in the last segment.
Appreciate yall
It was a amazing vid, I hope you make more like this!
Also was that text at 12:16 supposed to be there
I can see how much effort went into this! Really looking forward to your channel growing and getting the views it deserves
All good this video was actually sick how much effort went into this lmao
Super cool video, very helpful.
11:22 the word you mean is inherent not inherit
@@jogbearcool8594 true haha good catch
I was auto piloting while watching this video, as soon as it ended I realized I was in a round two stocks down... I won.
Seems like this vid is popping off a little, really really appreciate all the kind words and feedback as well.
Shoutout to Chippy and his community as well as Smash University! Appreciate yall
As an amateur, this explained concepts I couldn’t quite get to the full extent on my own. Great video!
Great video honestly, a couple subtitles of the important bits on the screen would go a long way for watchability but you did a really good job with this one man, keep it up homie
appreciate you bro! thanks for the advice as well, I definitely can see that being a good addition.
This the smash content we need

The best players mix it up, try to play incin like a pussycat from time to time if not to piss someone off but to drive their patience.

Really liked how you compared sports into the smash/neutral game, it simplified and made it way more relatable tbh. Great video. 💪🏻👍🏻

Only critique is the music was slightly louder than your talking, but other than that PHENOMENAL video man!
This is easily the best neutral explanation ive ever heard. My thoughts put to words. Well done fellow yink
This was great. While I already get the concept of everything your saying, being refreshed on this type of information is very helpful.
Amazing video! Keep up the great work!
Collab with him sometime?

4:09 this man is spitting FACTS I didn't even realize 😫 I hate campy playstyles because I'm bad against them. It's that fucking simple 🤯

Fantastic video my guy.
This video was insanely good but I do have a question: how would you recommend somebody practices these skills?

Nice video man. Music seems a bit loud though.

Instead of cold and dry lowering the volume, you should lower it over time so it isn't so abrupt
Subbing cuz this video rocks
