to grow the roots faster you must settle the cactus sprouts in a room temperature without putting it on soil for about a week after that you can plant it, roots are guaranteed

Baby cactus is way too small. I have this at my home.. wait till baby cactus becomes the size of thumb, then u can remove it from mother plant and replant it.. that way it will grow faster

I have two such babies growing from the bottom of my cactus. I live in Anchorage, Alaska, and though the days are still long now, soon the days will get much shorter. Is it a good idea to replant the babies now or should I wait til next Spring? Or is that too long to wait? Also, if I leave them alone, will they in anyway stymie the cactus I have growing now?
If your temperature is more than 30degree you can shift it in another pot. Or if you want to grow it in mother plant.. It will also grow.

So I took another baby off today, it already had nice big root formed. Just one big one. I took it off and put it in a little plastic container that you would get from purchasing a small cactus/succulent. What's the next step? Should I water it now or wait a week? I hear and read different things online haha but just wanted to get your advice
You can water it.. Just keep your soil moist..

I think those pups are way too small to be removed and replanted. Give then some time to grow first. In that way they will grow faster. After removing the grown up baby cactus let them callus before planting.

my cactus puff was removed from the mother prematurely. i did my best so that it won't dry out it lasted 2 months no roots and it shriveled when it got close to a stargazer Lilly so sad

Pl guide.
If your Plant is mature then it will automatically Produce Pups.. If You want to produce pups then add some fertilizer in it Like Bone meal..and Vermi-compost.

Hi i repotted my baby cactus for 6 months now. However, the growing is very slow. It turned out having a stunted growth like 5 inches height and it has little babies on it. Its a fishhook cactus type. What should i have to do for them to grow big like their mother.?
Don't worry cactus grow very slowly. Once they starts growing they grow very fast . You can also use some fertilizer in 15 days interval.
Tips : Don't repot you cactus evey time because roots of cactus grow very slowly. So, they can't grow fast.
Maybe thats the reason why they didn't grow because i repotted them three times. I was thinking the soil need to change! Thanks for the info bro!

Perhaps if you pot in a slightly larger pot then it will grow to the size of the pot. I have some that are in the minimal amount of soil that they were purchased in. The cactus plants have grown and are healthy even without me repotting - but I'm confident that if I place in larger pot - they will grow even more. I try to leave the soil on the roots and pot them as they come out of their previous pot... Let the roots find their own way to the new soil. I feel that disturbing the root ball would not be helpful to the plant so I simply pot the roots in the soil as they are removed from the pot. I hope that makes sense. I use a special compost for cacti and succulents here in the UK. If you need to make your own - use a sharp washed sand mixed with a well draining soil. Make sure the soil contains no peat or clay.
You can also get horticultural grit or perlite to mix with the soil too which helps it to drain well. Don't overwater - spray like shown in this video. I have started to collect rain water too for watering my succulents and cacti.

I took a baby cactus (Echinopsis) the size of a nut. How high will it grow in a month?
Cactus will grow very slowly for the first time.
Just keep keep the soil moist and don't over-watering it. When it will develop roots it will grow very fast. (more roots fast growth) so wait.

Im new to cacti growing and this was my first cactus. I got it about a year ago and since spring started the babies have been growing quick. Keep you plant in sun light.. When you plant starts growing.. They automatically starts growing small babies. And just apply some fertilizer in 15 to 20 days..

No, unfortunately moon cacti are unable to produce their own chlorophyll. Without being grafted to a root stock, the baby will die. Keep the pups attached to Mama cactus.
