Brother, I love what you're doing with the farm. Even me being an Animal Control Officer I didn't even know that about the baby ducks! Accidents happen, everyone understands that, don't beat yourself up about it fam! You are doing the best you can and everyone sees that man! You just learn from the experience and move on. I lost a baby duck when I was a teen.. and it was also my fault 🥺💔 I’m still a bit traumatized by it and I’m 30 years old lol so I know how difficult it can be when it’s your own doing 😭
@The Douglas Podcast that is what makes us human. If we didn't get upset or hurt about these types of incidents then I would definitely say there was a problem. Omar and yourself are both outstanding people to be able to admit the mistakes and that's how you know it was truly an accident. I love animals, but I had a Beta fish when I was 15 and I was cycling the water, and while I had the hot tap running and trying to dump some of the water from the tank out to make room for the fresh treated water, the Beta jumped out of the tank and went down the drain of the sink. I was Horrified to say the least. But I took it as a lesson to learn from, and I beat myself up for months and stared at that empty tank forever before I finally decided to toss it. I can completely understand the devastation an accident like this could cause on your mental health. We live and learn, and pick up the pieces and move on. We know it wasn't purposefully done and we all understand that accidents happen!! Much love fam!💛

I would recommend covering the holes in the spools with plywood or 2x4 scraps to prevent a goat from breaking a leg when jumping up on them. It happens a lot more than anyone realizes!!
Another beautiful vlog with your babies! ❤ That was sad about your duckling but at least the others are ok and you know now. My dad always had aviaries and even with birds he always made sure that the deeper water bowls and bird bath had a rock in the middle so that if a bird needed to it could use that to rest on. Also a little ramp in and out of the pond for the ducks is a good idea.

Hi Omar, love your video's!! I'm love'n your little farm also! Little tip though, all that poop makes GREAT fertilizer for the grass, gardens, and plants! I raise chickens, and their poop makes my garden grow wonderfully. I use a chicken tractor, so i can move my chickens around in my garden area, for a couple of weeks before planting time. Then we just till all that poop up, in the with the garden dirt, and mark out the rows and start planting! We also add horse manure in with it, and the garden does great. We enjoy all the garden fresh veggies, and so does my chickens an parrots! I'm so happy to see y'all starting a little homesteading, i think everyone should learn how to do it for survival reasons cause you never know! ❤🦜🌽🥦🥒🍅🫑🐔🐣🦆

I love that you give them enrichment as well as obviously good shelter/clean fed properly but not many places also think of enrichment activities for animals. The joy the ducks got from getting the mealworms from the water. I love how the are all mentally stimulated as well.

Oh my goodness, I didn't know that about baby ducks either!!! It's ok, & it could have happened to any of us who don't raise them for a living ya know! The fact that you care so much is testament to how much you love them. I would have done CPR as well. The little fella is swimming in heaven honey! Regarding the fences - 1 thing we liked in keeping our dogs in the yard was to line flat 2" height concrete bricks along the fence line...you might try that 😊 U can contact me if u need info ...it so easy to do and no messing with pouring concrete

Funny farm antidote… Horses won’t graze around where they poop, but will where cows do, and the opposite for cows lol (we are a working horse farm and rescue, that bred and raised mini breed beef cattle). My back yard is always perfectly manicured, it’s around a half acre, we keep part of our breeding herd of mini goats in there, they are amazing weed eaters, trim trees, eat brush and so on as you know, but don’t graze grass, but my sheep, uncle sonny who’s a weather and babysitter to the baby goats, keeps our grass perfect lol. Which is awesome, since my husbands been fixing our 3 lawnmowers for wellll, a few years now lol. Love your new channel, long time follower of your OG TV, keep uploading the fun stuff!

I have a friend who has goats and they put a huge tree log with big branches in their goat pen they climb all over that log. They also dug out a lil like pond in front of that tree log and their ducks love it. Its amazing to watch those goats climb even the branches. They can climb high limbs. Amazing balance.

Get solar panels to help with heating the barns. You can also look into grass roofs that can help with the cooling and heating too.

Hello from St. Petersburg, FL! I'm a huge animal lover, so I am so happy to see what you are doing with your farm. That is a SUPER long lead time on cabinets. Are they custom? I used to design cabinets in a big box store. Semi-custom cabinets (example Kraftmaid) take 4-6 weeks on average. Maybe they are quoting you installation time? I'm so sorry you lost your duck. You obviously care for animals, but sometimes a mistake can happen. Please don't be too hard on yourself. Take care!

Hey Omar, I'm really sorry about the duckling but please don't be so hard on yourself! You're on a huge learning curve and things like this, unfortunately, happen but you know not to do it again! I didn't know that about the ducklings either as I see them out on the lake with their Mommas and don't think of their being a time limit.

It's gives you a chance to check on them and they have security knowing you come and lol get thier treats. Being involved like you guys are will keep them friendly so if something should happen they won't be scared 😮if you have to catch any of them. About the dogs get fido electric fence wire it made for dogs . They have solar electric fence controllers .get the plastic insulators. Attached to bottom gate . Lol they only touch it once and won't hurt them . After a while you can turn it off . Just leave either electric wire or electric ribbon. We had to that . Thanks for the information on what you learned cause it's helping so many!

Some kind of platform in your small pool where the small ducks could get out of the water and rest would work for them. Because they don't have the feathers yet to fly out of the water. Sorry for your loss, I know how it feels. Your farm is looking and coming together nicely. Much happiness 😊

Hey Omar, I have a trick you can do to keep your dogs from digging underneath your fence & or gate areas. I had to do it before because my dog kept getting out of my backyard. You can either burry metal fencing or chicken wire under ground on either side of the fence you want them to stay in. It can also be used in the gate areas also. Just a suggestion or another option if the 💩 poop trick doesn't stop them from digging out.
P.S. my dog when she got out wouldn't run away she actually would be sitting on my front porch when I'd get home from work. She was the best dog ever God rest her soul!!!!

Get an aquatic step for in the pool like in a turtle tank! Something with a landing to walk up and a flat place to lay above the water when they’re too tired. Thank you for the education🥰

I've had dogs that are excape artests myself that love to dig out and I found that taking chicken wire or what you used to block the top of your gate and bury it a foot straight down then they can't dig through it. Works like a charm!
