I think the reason Capelli's lines worked, the normal race line has had the sharpness worn off of the stone within the tarmac reducing grip. When he took the outside line he produced more grip and more speed
It's not the sharpness of the stone. It's the rubber that is built up on the ideal line that doesn't allow any water to drop below the surface. The outside line is not rubbered in so the water can drop into the gaps.
Great video and lots of fun! Tracks have cambers expecially around bends, to prevent puddling in wet weather. Where he went very wide was to the highest point of the track, which will always be that little bit drier due to the water leaving that area first.
I’m not done watching but that line in the legends car is the rain line (rim shot). The dry line is worn smooth so there’s less grip in the rain. If you drive where nobody drives, the surface has sharper edges which grabs the tires. This will work in the nascar too. Edit: and when you slide on the slick part, you should notice more grip when you slide to the undriven part of the track. You can purposely drive on the slick part to pass and slide to the grip on the outside and that’s called the “slide for life”!
Will we see you in a Fun Cup car? I've been curious about those for a while. Also, watching you drive a Legend in Italy has me wanting to come drive out there. For some reason Legends are rarely driven on anything but an oval track Stateside.
Tracks normally drain to the inside of the corner, so they normally flood first. Additionally, it will have all of the tire on the normal line, which makes it slicker when wet.
It's called the rain racing line. When it's raining all the oil and rubber build up on the normal (dry) racing line floats to the surface and you will be feeling like driving on ice. Try it in your Nascar in the rain and you'll be even quicker then the race you did in the wet with the Nascar.
Great intro! Dry tires on wet? I didn't know that. One can tell how much aquaplaning is happening. Where you look is where you go...of course braking late too... Great video!
They have only one tyre in this Cup, a threaded one from Hoosier, I believe. So the best option in the wet like in this race is to put 4 brand new ones on. In the dry I'm sure that used ones with less thread depth will be faster, that's my own experience with threaded tyres on track anyway.
Please like this comment so Naska sees this. This channel should be getting way more views and I think this could be the issue. You boomed the chanel with how to motorcycle content. So majority of subscribers are interested in that. I found you like that, and in the beginning I would never watch your car videos. It just seemed way out of my reality. I think your subscribers are mainly bikers not interested in car content. So when you publish car content, the algorhytm first shows it to your subscribers, who are mainly bikers, they dont watch it, so the algorhytm thinks, well if the subscribers dont like it, nobody else will either. And it just doesnt show to anyone. I actually think your old bike subscribers could be killing your channel at the moment. I understand it is not easy, but it could be worth trying to create a new channel to try to post the car content. The newly subscribed people will all be interested in the car content you post, so when you upload a video and it gets served to your subscribers who are all interested in it, the interaction will be good and the algorhytm will start pushing your video beyond your subscriber base way more. I dont know this for sure, and its a bit risky, but at the same time you can always resume here and the amount of views it gets here is not fair.
in the rain, you dont want to race in the normal racing lines. the normal race line has rubber build up. thats like ice in the rain. stay off the normal line in the rain and you will be much faster!!
Bro his lines were where the traction was, where was that? Where the water wasn't. The water runs to the bottom, stay at the top. I would think that was common sense.
The views might be less on the English channel, but please please do not stop making these videos ... A huge fan from India
And from Thailand, always exciting videos and races from Naska, don't ever stop, please 😍🙏

Interesting observation
I surprised that Naska didnt know this(

We use these kind of racing lines in karting when we are racing in the rain with slicks.
There is HUGE grip in the far outside of the corners
Haha too good Nasha 👍
Great video and lots of fun!

do you know if any of the popular simulators copy this phenomenon? sims like Iracing, ACC, AMS2, Raceroom, etc?
Yes and also the oils from the cars in normal race line.
@@HowlerBikeVlogsiRacing claims it will when rain comes out (soon™)
@@HowlerBikeVlogsams 2 currently have the best rain physics currently you can use wet line and be faster
Fantastic racing! Great content Alberto!
So fun to watch..😂❤

The line was he driving was new and very dangerous that guy has a big heart😂😂😂
It's not dangerous at all.. this is the standard wet line for anyone that knows anything about racing in the wet.

Ahh the smell of victory!!!

Seems like a Karting wet line
Basically the karting wet line.
Ahahaha i love it!!!!

What camera do u use in your helmet

❤
In legend cars they use dry tire for wet but F1 can't or doesn't want to race in wet ....
