Ask pulls similar shit with Ben 10. For example, he claims the reboot has no plot (even though it has multiple plot lines involving Vilgax, Kevin, the fulmini, and forever knight storylines). He claims their is no character development, which is completely wrong as we see Ben, Gwen, and especially Kevin and Glitch get a lot of character development and growth despite those two not having as many episodes as some characters in alien force. He claims it has no action, which is complete bullshit. And he claims there is nothing dark in it, there is a fucking slave camp in season 1 the worst season of the show and it's not a good sign I can use the worst season to debunk one of his points. Hell Glitch Tennyson is one of my favorite characters, and I grew up on the original series and alien force.
I’d like to note that within the “half the people you listed are white, you ain’t slick,” portion, he lists two white characters. Sheen is Mexican, and Julie is Asian (if I recall correctly, but do correct me if I’m wrong). The only one we can add to the Cecil and Ben club is Krabs, but he’s also a damn crab.
The fact that Static, and Cyborg both had impactful episodes about racism is something he forgets about. Static's friend, Richie had a Racist dad, that verbally abused him. Richie ran away because of his dad's racism. It was a great episode. Cyborg, he delt with Space racism. Starfire was the victim of Space Slurs and having her friends being tricked into calling her Slurs. Cyborg recognized what was happening because he LIVED through similar. He helped Starfire stand up to the racist.
What's funny to me is that, that "argument" works better for Hazel compared to the other characters he listed. Why? Well Because, Hazel doesn't have any "Black Problems" unlike Static or Cyborg, she has issues kids of any race and gender could relate to. Hazel isn't a "Black" character, she's just a character that happens to be Black (If you get what I'm seeing) So Ask A.I.R is just simply being both Racist and Nostalgia Blind XD

Hazel is her own original character she is not Timmy, Hazel is completely different. She doesn’t have nearly the same amount of emotional baggage as Timmy does, for one Her parents are far more attentive and has a loving relationship with her big bro.
Timmy was an over exaggeration of a 10 y/o boy, he was made to seem like every other young boy but with everything cranked up to 11. A lot of the problems in the show were directly caused by him doing something really selfish or impulsive and needing to learn a lesson at the end. Hazel is more of a normal kid with normal problems and more unique interests. Her problems more often come from her dealing with the chaotic world around her and trying to navigate the different rules and missteps that come with the wishes. She could be selfish but it was never as extreme as timmy, just little things like making the teachers her friends or making her science fair project work.
She also basically said Hazel counted as a race swap because she served Basically the same purpose of Timmy did. My guy.., 1: It is a fucking sequel Series has grown-up! 2: That is the stupidest statement ever and completely devalues not only Hazel’s individuality, Timmy’s as well!! That is honestly like telling someone that they shouldn’t be upset that they got the wrong cheese on their burger because it’s still cheese yeah they’re both cheeses but they’re different and motherfucker I wanted Swiss!
Plus, their struggles come from different circumstances. Timmy's struggles are caused by external factors like his neglectful parents and abusive babysitter, while Hazel's are more internal, like her struggle to make friends and her anxiety/tendency to overthink.
Imo, it's because everyone is calling it a reboot, not a sequel. Sure, it's a reboot in the public being popular n such but not in continuity, the fact Vicky, Crocker, Aj, Dale Dimmadome, is around shows its a continuation and new rules being made due to 'previous child' aka Timmy which is name dropped by Crocker and even the lemonade stand was referenced by Vicky and even has a time batween the og show to this one(20-25 years) all signs say sequel but people call it reboot
The worst part about the video isn't his blatant racism, but his constant contradictions. He says he doesn't see race in characters like Cyborg and Static Shock even though their race are big parts of who they are, but when he sees Hazel all he can see is her color despite it literally never coming up.

People forget that Cyborg had a "racism bad" episode. But he was the supporting character, and not the main focus. Starfire was the victim of Space Racism. A random Space Man comes to Earth and starts calling Starfire Space Slurs, but since its not an Earthling language, none of the Titans knew it was a Slur. They thought it was a nickname or innocent slang. They start calling her the Space Slur. Cyborg and Starfire had a great, (for the era of cartoon) talk about racism and standing up for yourself.
Butch even made a response to someone asking about the reboot. Butch said they told him about the reboot beforehand and he is excited with the idea and concept. While he isn't gonna work on it he did state that he likes the reboot, if folks are gonna say that he doesn't or something. There is a literal video of Butch talking about A New Wish and that he's excited to see how it comes out. He literally had no complains about it, only positive things to talk about

Technically April didn’t have a set race and was drawn as Native American at some points But yeah she wasn’t white in the comics. As far as I’m concerned the true source material of TMNT does not have a set race for her. Because it was not a detail they were consistent with. So apparently they re-swapped bags are in the 87 cartoon because I didn’t wanna make an African-American the bad guy because they thought it would be racist. Or they would get backlash for it

Earlier in the video when he mentioned creators don’t want there shows rebooted and showed a bunch of cartoon creators. One of the people he is showing was Craig Maccraken, who is currently working on PPG reboot and other projects was Lauren Faust whose show she created was a reboot. Not to mention him showing John Kricfalusi, the creator of Ren and Stimpy which not only he’s a terrible person, but he has 100% control on Ren and Stimpy Adult Party Cartoons, one of the worst adult cartoons of all time.
Butch hartman literally advertised the new fairly oddparents show. Even if none of those other people wanted their works to be continued he'd still be wrong because butch isn't one of them. As soon as you look up the executive producer his name comes up. All it takes is one google search to make his whole argument meaningless. How are you gonna say it's unfaithful to the source material or against the creators wishes when the guy who made the source material is working on the show?

I’ve said this in other reviews and I’ll say it. As a black man who’s researched as far as he could, The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish is literally the only GOOD black kids show now. The really sad part is that there’s barely any good black kids shows running right now. I’m sure there’s some I haven’t heard of. But then you look at shows from the big three networks. Young Dylan sucks, That Girl Lay Lay sucks, even The Proud Family sucks now! All three networks have been sabotaging practically every show that isn’t a spin-off, sequel series or reboot for like the past 5 years now. One of the victims unfortunately includes Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur. And who knows if that show will get a third season. Raven’s Home, Craig of the Creek and the latter show’s spin-off, Jessica’s Big Little World are all over now. Iyanu: Child of Wonder which we’ve waited for almost two years was just announced to be delayed to 2025! The best we can hope for is that A New Wish stays consistent with their quality moving forward and will get renewed eventually. If it means making the show the most watched on Netflix, so be it. A modern Fairly OddParents show. Who’d have thunk?

Hazel is completely different from Timmy. Like, not just in terms of appearance, but in like everything else. So far you’re the only one to directly call out that he obviously DOES see colour- he sees Timmy as white. He doesn’t see Blade, Gerald, Static, or Cyborg as Black not bc he “doesn’t see colour” but because he sees their Blackness as inconsequential and erasable. He’d be the first one to defend a white Cyborg, saying his race doesn’t matter/“I thought race doesn’t matter? That’s what you said when they race-swapped Ariel” because of that line in TT where he says he knows what it’s like to be hated for his looks because he’s part-robot but didn’t mention the racism. How and why does a certain race determine if a character's good or not? That logic makes no sense, like, I wouldn't be surprised if there were some people that hated TOH because the main lead was black, followed by homophobia(I'm not lying, there are people that hated TOH because of LGBTQ representation)like, at that point you're making a fool of yourself. I was surprised but a bit relieved about the SpongeBob thing actually and from what I thought the screenshots of the interviews as an older he only said he couldn’t really see that happening. Apparently he was aware of camp coral but my only issue with that is the continuity issues concerning Sandy since she and SpongeBob meet in the first season and that’s where she’s introduced as a character. But retcons do happen and maybe his hands were tied with that. The show didn’t have very strict continuity anyway so it’s kind of a nitpick
I’m starting to think I have bad taste in cartoon critics. Cosmodore, Star Giant and now this guy. I subscribed to him literally 2 1/2 years ago for the 10 words or less reviews which I feel like no one else but JelloApocalypse does anymore and I guess the Ben 10 videos as well. This wasn’t on my bingo card at all. I don’t think I’ve seen a UA-camr make a moron out of themselves over race in popular media since that WandaVision video. You know the one. Or maybe you don’t because she deleted it. Go watch A Grand Monkey’s response to that video if you want to know what I mean. Edit: while I’m not a fan of race-swapping or gender-swapping or sexuality-swapping, I prefer if creators either do something with characters who do represent them or make up their own. Which is exactly what Ashleigh Crystal Hairston did with Hazel and it’s what made her a better character for it!

Another wild thing about using TMNT as the example of shows going away from like overarching plots is... as I remember it the first TMNT cartoon *was* a plot-of-the-week type show, and a pretty silly, lighthearted one (except maybe the last couple of seasons) to boot. These culture warriors who can't stop talking about how they are protecting the media of old, just can't stop revealing how little they know or care about it or the times they are from. Because plot-of-the-week, put-the-toys-back-in-the-box status quo was the norm for Western cartoons, even for often more serious shows like Batman or adult shows like Æon Flux. Shows like Gargoyles that had a strong plot arc were the rare exception. That's part of the reason some people were angry at Teen Titans Go in the first place, they felt it "took" a show that was special for that reason and "made" it just like most other shows. Western cartoons being more comfortable with plot arcs and strong continuity is the newer thing (with Avatar, Steven Universe, etc.), not the standard of the past. It could I guess be argued that the original vision of the TMNT comic (and the RPG) had stronger continuity and was darker (if still silly about it), but then the fault of betraying that "vision" falls at the hands of the 80's cartoon, the one the guy is supposedly defending, not the reboots. If anything a lot of the newer TMNT media has started drawing more on that aspect of the comics, not less, going in the opposite direction of what he is complaining about.

I only saw the FOP collab you did with him, and his Butch Hartman video a couple years ago and now here he is becoming incredibly infamous for having an incredibly terrible take. How sad. Also Mr. Krabs and Sheen didn't deserve the fate of being used for a "I'm not racist" point in that vid. I don't have a way to watch this show, and I didn't watch the original that much either, so I can't make a opinion on this, but man this guy is insane for saying those things about this show that not only looks promising but genuinly feels like it had so much care and attention to detail in it as well. From the footage I've seen, I personally think I would've gotten into this show when I was a kid, but then again my mind could change on that depending on how I feel. I mean, the animation from A New Wish is better than the computer animated versions of Timmy from the Timmy Jimmy Power Era. Honestly, season 9 dumbed down Cosmo and Wanda. Finally, it feels like Chloe gets too much unneeded hate. Chloe just got hate mostly because she was a girl just like Hazel gets hate because she is a "race swap" of Jimmy. That could be an idea about how unneeded fandom hate gave to Hazel and Chloe.

One thing that gets me about this ASK Air guy is that he fails to do something that's practically drilled into the head of every college student: citing your sources and showing examples. His video doesn't show any specific clips that SHOW that these reboots 'disrespect the original' like he claims it does. For example, the Ben 10 Reboot. I haven't seen it, and I assume this video is meant to show how horrible some of these reboots are. A good way to do that would probably be playing actual clips to compare and contrast the Ben 10 Reboot with the original series. But he doesn't do that. All he shows is clips of one fight scene and Ben eating pizza with a goofy face. That doesn't tell me, 'This Reboot is terrible.' Really, it doesn't tell me anything about the show. He just expects the audience to either A). Have already watched the reboot and agree with him that it's bad or B). Just take his word for it. Same with A New Wish. If he wanted to present a stronger argument for the show having 'mindless drivel plots' or how Hazel being a black girl 'negatively impacts the quality of the stories', the least he could do was try and show a clip or two to back up his point.

So i want to talk about Chloe archetype like a very good character that over works itself you know. So there is a Character from the internet series named "The last reality" (this is the 6th season and even if its sound like a finale, currently there is a new season called "The heart of a universe") so in that series there is a a very important character for first half of the season "Jenna". She has a chloe archetype, vegetarian, ecologyst, a sport woman, BUT instead of her she feels like a sad character. Her only friend went from the University to her hometown. She has a lot of responsobilities because she is a leader of Eco club in their University and she also does a lot of work in university. But no one in the club is her actual friend, every time there is only the Protagonist that she can call friend. Now you heard that, the funny part is that, THIS IS A MINECRAFT SERIES FROM RUSSIA !!!!!!! FROM RUSSIA !!!!!! If even a minecraft series from Russia can do a batter job than you, you know you get tot he bottom. This is actually really interesting Series, with a deep lore, that kinda a combination of a series and a Minecraft lets-play. "Minecraft with plot" in simple words.

Fun fact about TMNT: the 1987 TMNT is never the original, but mirage is the start of the TMNT, then IDW to Last Ronin (which is an alternative universe to the IDW TMNT) And fun fact there'd also differences with TMNT 2012 and Mirage is that the whole Hamato Yoshi being Splinter is taken inspo from the 1987 cartoon meanwhile Mirage and 2003 are different, being that Splinter is rat from the start and being mutated. In other words 1987 to MM TMNT are not the originals, but they are just separates and not sequels mostly with different takes in their own respective series in the same thing they adapted to. But Rise itself is the most different TMNT that I applaud them for being unique. Making your own version of TMNT instead of making a sequel makes sense? They did make turtle multiverse a thing in the turtles forever movie.

That being said, another reason for there being so many of these reboots is that the companies and networks are EXTREMELY risk-adverse, as original shows are FAR less likely to be profitable in the short-term than reboots. If there’s one thing I wanna say about your video, is the point you bring up about reboots not being for the audience that grew up with them, and using Animaniacs as an example. When, like… the actual first joke told by the Warners is them debating what their first lines should be. Specifically even getting into appealing to the parents that grew up with the old stuff. I only half agree on your points about reboots. Yes, they are meant for new generations. So, they're not obliged to satisfy the wants and demands of the older public because that's not the public they're aiming for. However, your take "it doesn't matter if it's good or bad, because it isn't for you anymore" is a very BAD take. So you're basically saying that you can not judge the quality of a piece of entertainment UNLESS you're from the generation it was aimed at? I'm sorry, but that's dumb. And by that same logic, the people who became Star Wars fans during the previous trilogies shouldn't be allowed to judge the sequel trilogy. Because it was aimed at my cousin's generation, not at mine. Or what about the opposite way around? I detest the Powerpuff Girls reboot, and I still haven't seen a single child keep any interest in that show yet. One day I put on the original show just to see if they would notice a difference. Guess what? They were hooked to the tv almost instantly. A bit of topic, but the reason why I don't like most Disney LA is because they're basically recreations of the very same story but with a poorer execution. I like LAs such a Maleficent, and Alice in Wornderland which propose different ideas using the characters of the original stories. Maleficent being a take on "what if Maleficent isn't actually evil and learns to grow out of her spite?" And, what if Alice grows up and comes back to Wonderland as a young adult? I think those are more interesting than watching the same story but slightly different.
You mentioned you don’t get much of Scooby Doo, but I want to get this out. The first time Velma was race swapped was from a direct to tv movie by an Asian actress and no one throw a hissy fit, the Scoob! Movie by a Hispanic but the only thing that upset along with most of the cast is the status of Hollywood over experience voice actors, and with the Velma being Southasian it somehow made people acted like this is the first time this happens while skipping over why the show stinks. The only difference with the last one is that she came from this decade along with bunch more of characters led by angry people who doesn’t care about a simple research otherwise it would discard their viewpoints they failed to mask. I enjoyed ur video, but I had some trouble understanding u at the beginning of the video because of the volume of the music. This might just be a me issue, because I’m autistic and have sensory problems. And idk if ur other videos have music, and it’s ur video and u can do what u like, but because the song had lyrics and it was playing at a similar volume to ur commentary, I had a hard time understanding what u were saying. The only thing I was just hoping and praying for that came of New Wish was that it faithfully followed in the footsteps of the original Fairly OddParents, and didn’t suck. Holy hell, when I say it exceeded my expectations and more I’m clearly not saying it loud enough. It’s sad to see other people just refuse to move on from a show they apparently loved so much as kids and let the shows adapt with time. And hey, if they don’t think it’s right for these kids (ahemFairlyOddercoughcough) then they’re allowed to say so, but if it does characters right, has a strong creative team behind it, respects the original fanbase and has the creator’s blessing then you’re just bitching for the sake of bitching. I was massively obsessed with Fairly OddParents 20 years ago when I was a kid, and had kinda moved on after Channel Chasers. And it sucked seeing the show decline over time and get beaten past its death. But when A New Wish aired I was ecastatic to see how much it returned to form and what a blessing it was to see Hazel be the new hero of these stories! I know kids will fall in love with this series as I did 20 years ago, and needless to say I fell in love with it all over again. People ought to give it a chance because dang they’re missing out!
It isn't a remake. That's literally one of the many points of many of these ask air critique videos. New Wish is not a remake, it's not a reboot, it's a sequel. But yeah to answer your question, yes! I like it a lot at least.
@@raszze They fixed Cosmo and Wanda's personalities to be more like the earlier seasons of the original show. Cosmo dumb but he's not painfully dumb, Wanda is not a huge nag, and the both of them love each other again. There's little character arcs made for some of the newer characters that span through multiple episodes.

Ask pulls similar shit with Ben 10. For example, he claims the reboot has no plot (even though it has multiple plot lines involving Vilgax, Kevin, the fulmini, and forever knight storylines). He claims their is no character development, which is completely wrong as we see Ben, Gwen, and especially Kevin and Glitch get a lot of character development and growth despite those two not having as many episodes as some characters in alien force. He claims it has no action, which is complete bullshit. And he claims there is nothing dark in it, there is a fucking slave camp in season 1 the worst season of the show and it's not a good sign I can use the worst season to debunk one of his points. Hell Glitch Tennyson is one of my favorite characters, and I grew up on the original series and alien force.

The fact that Static, and Cyborg both had impactful episodes about racism is something he forgets about.
Static's friend, Richie had a Racist dad, that verbally abused him. Richie ran away because of his dad's racism. It was a great episode.
Cyborg, he delt with Space racism. Starfire was the victim of Space Slurs and having her friends being tricked into calling her Slurs. Cyborg recognized what was happening because he LIVED through similar. He helped Starfire stand up to the racist.
What's funny to me is that, that "argument" works better for Hazel compared to the other characters he listed.

Hazel is her own original character she is not Timmy, Hazel is completely different. She doesn’t have nearly the same amount of emotional baggage as Timmy does, for one Her parents are far more attentive and has a loving relationship with her big bro.
Timmy was an over exaggeration of a 10 y/o boy, he was made to seem like every other young boy but with everything cranked up to 11. A lot of the problems in the show were directly caused by him doing something really selfish or impulsive and needing to learn a lesson at the end. Hazel is more of a normal kid with normal problems and more unique interests. Her problems more often come from her dealing with the chaotic world around her and trying to navigate the different rules and missteps that come with the wishes. She could be selfish but it was never as extreme as timmy, just little things like making the teachers her friends or making her science fair project work.
She also basically said Hazel counted as a race swap because she served Basically the same purpose of Timmy did. My guy.., 1: It is a fucking sequel Series has grown-up!
2: That is the stupidest statement ever and completely devalues not only Hazel’s individuality, Timmy’s as well!! That is honestly like telling someone that they shouldn’t be upset that they got the wrong cheese on their burger because it’s still cheese yeah they’re both cheeses but they’re different and motherfucker I wanted Swiss!
Plus, their struggles come from different circumstances. Timmy's struggles are caused by external factors like his neglectful parents and abusive babysitter, while Hazel's are more internal, like her struggle to make friends and her anxiety/tendency to overthink.
Imo, it's because everyone is calling it a reboot, not a sequel. Sure, it's a reboot in the public being popular n such but not in continuity, the fact Vicky, Crocker, Aj, Dale Dimmadome, is around shows its a continuation and new rules being made due to 'previous child' aka Timmy which is name dropped by Crocker and even the lemonade stand was referenced by Vicky and even has a time batween the og show to this one(20-25 years) all signs say sequel but people call it reboot

People forget that Cyborg had a "racism bad" episode.
But he was the supporting character, and not the main focus. Starfire was the victim of Space Racism.
A random Space Man comes to Earth and starts calling Starfire Space Slurs, but since its not an Earthling language, none of the Titans knew it was a Slur. They thought it was a nickname or innocent slang. They start calling her the Space Slur.
Cyborg and Starfire had a great, (for the era of cartoon) talk about racism and standing up for yourself.
Butch even made a response to someone asking about the reboot. Butch said they told him about the reboot beforehand and he is excited with the idea and concept. While he isn't gonna work on it he did state that he likes the reboot, if folks are gonna say that he doesn't or something.
There is a literal video of Butch talking about A New Wish and that he's excited to see how it comes out. He literally had no complains about it, only positive things to talk about

Technically April didn’t have a set race and was drawn as Native American at some points But yeah she wasn’t white in the comics. As far as I’m concerned the true source material of TMNT does not have a set race for her. Because it was not a detail they were consistent with. Earlier in the video when he mentioned creators don’t want there shows rebooted and showed a bunch of cartoon creators. One of the people he is showing was Craig Maccraken, who is currently working on PPG reboot and other projects was Lauren Faust whose show she created was a reboot. Not to mention him showing John Kricfalusi, the creator of Ren and Stimpy which not only he’s a terrible person, but he has 100% control on Ren and Stimpy Adult Party Cartoons, one of the worst adult cartoons of all time.
Butch hartman literally advertised the new fairly oddparents show. Even if none of those other people wanted their works to be continued he'd still be wrong because butch isn't one of them. As soon as you look up the executive producer his name comes up. All it takes is one google search to make his whole argument meaningless.
How are you gonna say it's unfaithful to the source material or against the creators wishes when the guy who made the source material is working on the show?

I’ve said this in other reviews and I’ll say it. As a black man who’s researched as far as he could, The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish is literally the only GOOD black kids show now.
The really sad part is that there’s barely any good black kids shows running right now. I’m sure there’s some I haven’t heard of. But then you look at shows from the big three networks. Young Dylan sucks, That Girl Lay Lay sucks, even The Proud Family sucks now!
All three networks have been sabotaging practically every show that isn’t a spin-off, sequel series or reboot for like the past 5 years now. One of the victims unfortunately includes Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur. And who knows if that show will get a third season.
Raven’s Home, Craig of the Creek and the latter show’s spin-off, Jessica’s Big Little World are all over now. Iyanu: Child of Wonder which we’ve waited for almost two years was just announced to be delayed to 2025!
The best we can hope for is that A New Wish stays consistent with their quality moving forward and will get renewed eventually. If it means making the show the most watched on Netflix, so be it. A modern Fairly OddParents show. Who’d have thunk?

How and why does a certain race determine if a character's good or not? I was surprised but a bit relieved about the SpongeBob thing actually and from what I thought the screenshots of the interviews as an older he only said he couldn’t really see that happening. Apparently he was aware of camp coral but my only issue with that is the continuity issues concerning Sandy since she and SpongeBob meet in the first season and that’s where she’s introduced as a character. But retcons do happen and maybe his hands were tied with that. The show didn’t have very strict continuity anyway so it’s kind of a nitpick
I’m starting to think I have bad taste in cartoon critics. Cosmodore, Star Giant and now this guy. I subscribed to him literally 2 1/2 years ago for the 10 words or less reviews which I feel like no one else but JelloApocalypse does anymore and I guess the Ben 10 videos as well. This wasn’t on my bingo card at all.

Edit: while I’m not a fan of race-swapping or gender-swapping or sexuality-swapping, I prefer if creators either do something with characters who do represent them or make up their own. Which is exactly what Ashleigh Crystal Hairston did with Hazel and it’s what made her a better character for it!

Another wild thing about using TMNT as the example of shows going away from like overarching plots is... as I remember it the first TMNT cartoon *was* a plot-of-the-week type show, and a pretty silly, lighthearted one (except maybe the last couple of seasons) to boot. These culture warriors who can't stop talking about how they are protecting the media of old, just can't stop revealing how little they know or care about it or the times they are from. Because plot-of-the-week, put-the-toys-back-in-the-box status quo was the norm for Western cartoons, even for often more serious shows like Batman or adult shows like Æon Flux. Shows like Gargoyles that had a strong plot arc were the rare exception. That's part of the reason some people were angry at Teen Titans Go in the first place, they felt it "took" a show that was special for that reason and "made" it just like most other shows. Western cartoons being more comfortable with plot arcs and strong continuity is the newer thing (with Avatar, Steven Universe, etc.), not the standard of the past.
It could I guess be argued that the original vision of the TMNT comic (and the RPG) had stronger continuity and was darker (if still silly about it), but then the fault of betraying that "vision" falls at the hands of the 80's cartoon, the one the guy is supposedly defending, not the reboots. If anything a lot of the newer TMNT media has started drawing more on that aspect of the comics, not less, going in the opposite direction of what he is complaining about.
9:33 This is false and a misconception, comics April was based off the creators girlfriend April Fisher who was of mixed origin but they originally portray O'Neil as white in the comics, even when shes standing next to a literal Black character.
This is, quite honestly, on par with Doktor Skipper's vid-essay about Godzilla.

I only saw the FOP collab you did with him, and his Butch Hartman video a couple years ago and now here he is becoming incredibly infamous for having an incredibly terrible take. How sad. Also Mr. Krabs and Sheen didn't deserve the fate of being used for a "I'm not racist" point in that vid. Not only because unlike that vid these characters are amazing imo, but also as some have joked about why was a crab character used to show "he's not racist" lol!
I don't have a way to watch this show, and I didn't watch the original that much either, so I can't make a opinion on this, but man this guy is insane for saying those things about this show that not only looks promising but genuinly feels like it had so much care and attention to detail in it as well. From the footage I've seen, I personally think I would've gotten into this show when I was a kid, but then again my mind could change on that depending on how I feel. Rip to that other video he was in and I hope he either thinks about what he's said or gets off the platform for good. I mean, the animation from A New Wish is better than the computer animated versions of Timmy from the Timmy Jimmy Power Era. Honestly, season 9 dumbed down Cosmo and Wanda. Finally, it feels like Chloe gets too much unneeded hate.

One thing that gets me about this ASK Air guy is that he fails to do something that's practically drilled into the head of every college student: citing your sources and showing examples.
His video doesn't show any specific clips that SHOW that these reboots 'disrespect the original' like he claims it does. For example, the Ben 10 Reboot. I haven't seen it, and I assume this video is meant to show how horrible some of these reboots are. A good way to do that would probably be playing actual clips to compare and contrast the Ben 10 Reboot with the original series. But he doesn't do that. All he shows is clips of one fight scene and Ben eating pizza with a goofy face.
That doesn't tell me, 'This Reboot is terrible.' Really, it doesn't tell me anything about the show. He just expects the audience to either A). Have already watched the reboot and agree with him that it's bad or B). Just take his word for it.
Same with A New Wish. If he wanted to present a stronger argument for the show having 'mindless drivel plots' or how Hazel being a black girl 'negatively impacts the quality of the stories', the least he could do was try and show a clip or two to back up his point.

So i want to talk about Chloe archetype like a very good character that over works itself you know. So there is a Character from the internet series named "The last reality" (this is the 6th season and even if its sound like a finale, currently there is a new season called "The heart of a universe") so in that series there is a a very important character for first half of the season "Jenna". She has a chloe archetype, vegetarian, ecologyst, a sport woman, BUT instead of her she feels like a sad character. Her only friend went from the University to her hometown. She has a lot of responsobilities because she is a leader of Eco club in their University and she also does a lot of work in university. But no one in the club is her actual friend, every time there is only the Protagonist that she can call friend. Now you heard that, the funny part is that, THIS IS A MINECRAFT SERIES FROM RUSSIA !!!!!!! FROM RUSSIA !!!!!! If even a minecraft series from Russia can do a batter job than you, you know you get tot he bottom. This is actually really interesting Series, with a deep lore, that kinda a combination of a series and a Minecraft lets-play. "Minecraft with plot" in simple words.

Fun fact about TMNT: the 1987 TMNT is never the original, but mirage is the start of the TMNT, then IDW to Last Ronin (which is an alternative universe to the IDW TMNT)
And fun fact there'd also differences with TMNT 2012 and Mirage is that the whole Hamato Yoshi being Splinter is taken inspo from the 1987 cartoon meanwhile Mirage and 2003 are different, being that Splinter is rat from the start and being mutated.
In other words 1987 to MM TMNT are not the originals, but they are just separates and not sequels mostly with different takes in their own respective series in the same thing they adapted to. But Rise itself is the most different TMNT that I applaud them for being unique. Making your own version of TMNT instead of making a sequel makes sense? They did make turtle multiverse a thing in the turtles forever movie.
Funny thing was I only thought teen titan go was bad not because it “wasn’t the original” but because it was annoying in a lot of it’s comedy and the Robin abuse is wild 💀💀💀

If there’s one thing I wanna say about your video, is the point you bring up about reboots not being for the audience that grew up with them, and using Animaniacs as an example. When, like… the actual first joke told by the Warners is them debating what their first lines should be. Specifically even getting into appealing to the parents that grew up with the old stuff.
I’m not gonna say anything about that show’s quality either way, but a good reboot can appeal to old and new fans. The creators owe us nothing, but they do owe the new generation a good show. Like Ducktales, Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated, Rise of the TMNT, or yes, Fairly Oddparents A New Wish. Yes, I know a New Wish isn’t a reboot, but I liked the show and wanted to give it some praise.

Yes, they are meant for new generations. So, they're not obliged to satisfy the wants and demands of the older public because that's not the public they're aiming for.

Same with this other situation: I happen to enjoy Teen Titans Go. The only reason I watched the original show was because of my older brother watching it. My cousing (which I consider as a younger brother) and I loved watching and laughing at the wacky, satirical, and dumb humor of Teen Titans Go. But I guess it doesn't matter that I like it, right? Because it was aimed at my cousin's generation, not at mine.
Or what about the opposite way around? I detest the Powerpuff Girls reboot, and I still haven't seen a single child keep any interest in that show yet. Quite opposite actually, I have two nieces, a 5 year old and an 11 year old, two girls. They always put something else or got distracted every tim the reboot came up on screen. One day I put on the original show just to see if they would notice a difference.
Guess what? They were hooked to the tv almost instantly.
They started liking the show so much that they began to ask me to role play with them as the powerpuff girls. (Im usually the professor, the mayor, and most of the villains.)

A bit of topic, but the reason why I don't like most Disney LA is because they're basically recreations of the very same story but with a poorer execution.
I like LAs such a Maleficent, and Alice in Wornderland which propose different ideas using the characters of the original stories.
Maleficent being a take on "what if Maleficent isn't actually evil and learns to grow out of her spite?"
And, what if Alice grows up and comes back to Wonderland as a young adult?
I think those are more interesting than watching the same story but slightly different.
You mentioned you don’t get much of Scooby Doo, but I want to get this out. The first time Velma was race swapped was from a direct to tv movie by an Asian actress and no one throw a hissy fit, the Scoob! Movie by a Hispanic but the only thing that upset along with most of the cast is the status of Hollywood over experience voice actors, and with the Velma being Southasian it somehow made people acted like this is the first time this happens while skipping over why the show stinks. The only difference with the last one is that she came from this decade along with bunch more of characters led by angry people who doesn’t care about a simple research otherwise it would discard their viewpoints they failed to mask. Just ask Miles Morales from the his film appearances and his comic debut.

I enjoyed ur video, but I had some trouble understanding u at the beginning of the video because of the volume of the music. This might just be a me issue, because I’m autistic and have sensory problems. And idk if ur other videos have music, and it’s ur video and u can do what u like, but because the song had lyrics and it was playing at a similar volume to ur commentary, I had a hard time understanding what u were saying.

The only thing I was just hoping and praying for that came of New Wish was that it faithfully followed in the footsteps of the original Fairly OddParents, and didn’t suck. Holy hell, when I say it exceeded my expectations and more I’m clearly not saying it loud enough.
It’s sad to see other people just refuse to move on from a show they apparently loved so much as kids and let the shows adapt with time. And hey, if they don’t think it’s right for these kids (ahemFairlyOddercoughcough) then they’re allowed to say so, but if it does characters right, has a strong creative team behind it, respects the original fanbase and has the creator’s blessing then you’re just bitching for the sake of bitching.
I was massively obsessed with Fairly OddParents 20 years ago when I was a kid, and had kinda moved on after Channel Chasers. And it sucked seeing the show decline over time and get beaten past its death. But when A New Wish aired I was ecastatic to see how much it returned to form and what a blessing it was to see Hazel be the new hero of these stories!
I know kids will fall in love with this series as I did 20 years ago, and needless to say I fell in love with it all over again.
People ought to give it a chance because dang they’re missing out!

It isn't a remake. That's literally one of the many points of many of these ask air critique videos. New Wish is not a remake, it's not a reboot, it's a sequel. But yeah to answer your question, yes! I like it a lot at least.

Cosmo dumb but he's not painfully dumb, Wanda is not a huge nag, and the both of them love each other again. There's little character arcs made for some of the newer characters that span through multiple episodes.

His whole video is basically going on a racist rant and claiming he's not racist because of, what, 2 or 3 black characters he claims to like?(Let's be honest, he probably googled 'black fictional characters' and ran with it.) We can all see where his dislike of the show stems from, and it's just the fact that a 'nostalgic' cartoon for him is coming back with a black main character, like that's it.
