They need to call the Grind Hard Plumbing guys. Fab skills and they made that janky supercharger work on Senderella.

Surprisingly l installed this supercharger on my mazda 2 a couple of years back, the fabrication wasn't hard if you sacrifice your ac pump. :)

I think removing the lower jaw from the head bone can make it look cool and give it more openings for the exhaust to come out
The reason the supercharger seems so nice for its ridiculously low cost is that it's actually a "refurbished" used supercharger from a Japanese Kie vehicle made by Aisin. You have a AMR500 but they also made an even smaller AMR300 (500cc or 300cc of air per revolution respectively). People use them on all sorts of applications like air cooled VW's and small engined go karts/buggies etc.

It would also be cool to see how much cost and work the fabrication would require to actually make it functional. FI isn't cheap, but when the blower itself is only $200, how much could it really add up to? Even for the probably 5 HP it would add lol.

Honestly, financial management is a crucial topic that most tend to shy away from, and ends up haunting them in the near future.
That supercharger is actually based on a semi-decent super charger. The real AMR500 I believe is a knock off of an old Porsche and bug supercharger. One side gets bolted to the engine and the other is used like a tensioner. They supposedly work great on engines like the bug 1600.
If I remember right they also had no Inter cooler and instead used alcohol (methanol) injection.
I actually would like to see yall put that "supercharger" on a go kart, I think that would be pretty sick haha

Instal the supercharger!! Make sure you add a boost gauge cuz I’m really curious how much air it will move! Probably tops out at like 4 psi😂
somewhat reliably, 8PSI is the furthest I've personally pushed a 500, they move 500cc of air per rotation, so depending on the pulley ratio, 4-6 would usually be ideal.
Well the headbone description said it would not hinder airflow. And I would expect that to be true if the POS would stay on. Exhaust flow on the other hand....
the supercharger definitely needs to have an episode that that going on the car. just make sure there's something to control that pressure so you don't have to rush the episode on rebuilding an engine lol
I'm really pumped to see that supercharger on if it works for more than 3 minutes. It would be a smashing success.

The "supercharger" looks like it's using the same mounting points as the A/C compressor, and connects directly to the intake.
And the threaded couplings look like a trash pump for pumping out a ditch.

For those wondering, those superchargers were made for Japanese Kei cars in the 90's, which is why they are for such small displacement motors (600cc-ish).
Looked into putting one on an old Yamaha sport bike years ago.

A single one of these can handle up to about 1800cc I've got one running on a 1300cc samurai engine
The AMR500 superchargers are also used on the Mini & Peugeot 1.6 engines sometimes from factory if I'm not mistaken

These are just general super chargers really, "commonly" used to supercharge air-cooled beetles, buses and buggies. I'm genuinely interested in buying one for my '73 super beetle since they can up the power to 160 hp with EFI.

Mighty car mods had a beetle powered buggy that was pushing around 100hp, but it was NA. It blew up pretty fast, can the beetle motor safely make 160hp without just grenading? 3x stock power is impressive for any engine
That supercharger is an OEM remanufactured unit. It's on some nissans and stuff.

Check out robot cantina, he put it on a cement mixer engine he adapted to a CVT trans on a car.
Those AMR500 superchargers came stock on Subaru kei cars - basically all of them are refurbished. I've seen them sold on aliexpress with regular pulleys and the max RPM is around 18,000.
I'd guess you'd get around 4-5 pounds of boost if you were to put it on the Golf tbh, it would be funny.

Lol the AMR500 is a legit supercharger. It's oem equipment on a Subaru kei car. It's made upwards of 150hp crank on various dyno pulls I've seen. It originally was fitted to a 600cc engine. Good stuff.

I put one of those AMR 500s on my VW 1.6 air cooled. Blow through config with twin mikunis, 8-10 lbs of boost (revving it a little more than it's capable of) and yes it goes HARD. way more bang for my buck than a cam upgrade or duel port heads.

Not only MUST you figure out how to install and test that mini supercharger, but you need to start a quest to find ANY car this will actually benefit.
My first suggestion would be one of my first cars: a 1985 Toyota Tercel - i believe it had a whopping 50hp. I had to floor that thing just to go up a normal hill.

I’ve actually used one of those superchargers on a old vw beetle. Work great! Ofcourse I bought like a actual brand name one but it looked identical and worked the same adapt way.

Yes, you HAVE to fit that supercharger to the car! I want to know what it costs to adapt a $200 supercharger to actually fit and function. Even poorly.
I can put that on any car with space at the belt area. Be a tough install on any horizontal motors, but any forward facing engine thats a super easy install. a bracket or two, little welds and some bolts. Fitted belt and youre off to the races. I've seen something very similar on a jeep before. basically the same as a procharger.

I actually have one of these superchargers on my 1975 VW beetle, they are pretty popular for the old 1600cc VW aircooled motors and they sell kits to slap em on

That supercharger is actually an industrial blower. It's an air pump used to provide positive air pressure in factories, processing plants, etc. Those things can get absolutely massive too.
When they tested the "curb-rash protector" and just grinded the hell out of the rim, it was like nails on a chalkboard to me, hurts the soul. Glad these professionals tested it and not me.

I’ve got a classic VW beetle and have actually looked into putting an AMR500 supercharger onto it as it’s a pretty popular thing to do on them for cheap power. It wouldn’t be a great deal of fabrication to make a mounting bracket and then just plum the intake tubing. Fuelling can then be done just just a new carburettor if you’re after the most simple set up. It seems you can expect around a 50% power gain on a stock engine from what I’ve seen of other installs

Edit: added the following information here to my original comment cuz people don’t read comments threads before replying
so just as reference I Design Machine’s for a living which is why to me this looks more like a hydraulic pump than a traditional super charger
But after further research and reading other comments it does appear to be a AMR 500 it is a volumetric air pump

The documentation I’ve found would indicate this should displace 500cc per revolution.
Based on what I’ve read is good for at most 5-7 lbs for boost
Any more that that you’ll over heat it faster than the air can feasibly cool it
Plus I don't see any area for lubrication, so that could be sketchy lol

That is not true, look up aisin amr500, its a legit supercharger and a ton of people use them on smaller engines, even OEMs.
10/10 I love my jackery 500 and solar panel. 50+ phone charges at 100% and charges in medium light in 8-10 hours. So worth it. Will NOT run a microwave.
Those superchargers are actually really useful when u have a lifted jeep with 36" tires and an indestructible but woefully underpowered 2.5l 4cyl.

@@joshjlmgproductions3313 power costs fuel, it’s not free. Proper is not using an industrial roots blower on an engine too big for it. So you should already be geared properly but like most people that tell you point # 1 is 36” tire, I bet it’s woefully under geared. Probably sitting on d30 and 35c with factory gearing.
